I cleaned off my dresser, dusted it, and washed the mirror. Now to clean off the bed. LOL

Happy anniversary and thank you for the blessings I've gotten from this thread!

Good job! Taking control of you, and your situations is something huge!

Working full time during the Christmas season means I cook everything I have to on the weekend. Its been a cold, wet weekend, so oven items and soups are on the menu this week. (Hubby made soup). Not a lot of time for decluttering, but I'm getting dinners in the freezer for later dates.

Eric, I'm glad you're not beating yourself up about it! Everyone falters, that isn't a failure, glad you know that too. Good timing btw, I am rarely here and glad to see you.

I drink 7 beers a night, but I used to drink 9 a night. If You decide to cut back or quit, do it at your pace or it won't work. I cut back 1 a night, and then another one. If this is a trade, as in I cut back and he cuts back something, its not your decision. You decide, what do you really want to do?

You continue to inspire! You are right, slow and steady wins! I'm so tempted to call you turtle (turtles are cool!) I'm encouraged by your slow victory. Thank you for sharing!

I wrote mine when I was a teenager, really didn't want my teenager reading them! :D
-
I got rid of mine years ago, I didn't want my teenage daughter finding them! :D

I have decluttered the same places ever since I can remember. I've started putting things on the couch if they don't have a place. I ask hubby for ideas, but after a week if its not put away somewhere, it goes in the donate box. I am a sorry excuse for a house cleaner, so the reality is, I get an area clean and then forget…

I am also in the red, and don't care! I'm planning my piece of pie right now! Love your attitude!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! From North Carolina

You are killing it girlfriend! I love that its all coming together for you!
-
That's me in a nutshell. Embarrassing to say the least. Oh well, I'm getting there, slow but sure!

Try packing those things in a box. Put a date 6 months away on the box. Anything left in the box on that date, can be donated.
-
I love your "drag a garbage bag around with you" idea!

Jewelry is something I need to deal with too. Its so daunting, but I have to add it to my list. One jewelry box at a time. Only way I'll get it done.
-
CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so happy for you! This really is so inspiring. I'm seeing and feeling a difference since starting the declutter process, though the scale hasn't moved much. I figure that if my clothes are falling off, I'm improving no matter what number is on the scale. THANK YOU for this thread! Everyone has such…

This afternoon/evening I was struggling to get a colander out of the cupboard. I realized that there was a steamer dish causing the issue. It was a 3 part dish, but I'd thrown the other pieces away years ago. Why didn't I throw it out? NO IDEA! I haven't used it in 13 years, its in my way, but there it was! Things truly…

I've run into the same situation (many times). I've started putting things I'm not sure where to put them, on the couch, because its in my face. If I know where it goes, I put it away. I'm trying to take 15 minutes a day to keep things in order. Hopefully it'll become a habit.

I'm so sorry that you're dealing with such a horrible thing. I am praying for all of you, and us. Honey is made from many different flowers, and that creates different flavors. What if you use colors that represent flowers? Just a thought. :)

OMG! You are amazing! How marvelous, exciting, and inspiring! I'm happy for you, my friend. Enjoy getting oot and aboot!

I've started going through my winter clothes. Trying them on, putting some in the donation bag. Getting ready to go do seasonal work for 2 months. I'll try not to disappear, just letting you all know so you don't worry. I'll probably start next week. Good news after a tough summer/fall.

Wow

There you are, I was getting a little worried. You are doing so fabulously! Seriously impressive and inspiring!

I'm pulling my pants up all the time too. Being in between sizes is giving my arms a workout! :p
-
Are you sure you're not in a smaller size? The reason I ask, is that I didn't see that I was. My daughter pointed out that my new shirts were too big. :)

Sorted socks, that were hanging around in the laundry basket, today. Threw most of them out! Tried on a pair of PJ's that was in there, I got them on! They are tight, can't wear them, but I couldn't get them on in April! Thanks for the ideas!

You can also make Christmas cookies ahead this way. Just don't put frosting on until they thaw. Makes the holidays less hectic!
-
I freeze the cookies. Every time (except this week) I make cookies, I freeze a dozen. Nice to have when its too hot to bake. My grandma always had cookies in the freezer in case any grandkids walked over. I've also frozen dough.
