Maybe you’ve ‘converted’ fat to muscle. Just because the scale isn’t shifting doesn’t mean your body isn’t building muscle & melting fat. Have faith. Keep up the good work & it will happen.

I’m happy with it. The compatible app is detailed and works well with MFP.

Fantastic post @themedalist. So much there to unpack & take forward. Though I promise I won’t think (read:sit) on it too long. Thank you for finding sources for us to explore further. The kernel of truth that hit me like a freight train is so simple and yet really powerful: I don’t *feel* like doing something NOW,…

Hey gals! I’m looking to revive these ballet threads! I danced ballet (and jazz/hip-hop/lyrical) as a kid. As a teenager I was dancing 20 hours a week and in college I slowed way down, but continued and even danced in Paris for a year on study-abroad. Once I got out into the ‘real world’ of 9-5, marriage, grad school, 3…

@KaelaLee88 — reviving an old thread. I’ve just joined MFP and danced through college, but stopped shortly after due to a fractures in both my sesamoid foot bones. 20 years later, it’s still my favorite way to burn calories. I followed a class on YouTube and was surprised to have fairly good placement & muscle memory.…

@markwin1 — is it 72 & sunny in LA, England? LOL sounds nice!

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I ordered a RENPHO Scale. One feature I decided to get is BF%, so I can calculate macros more accurately.

Late to the party, but very interested if you can add me. If there are already too many, feel free to waitlist me

I was just about to post the same. I found a ballet channel on YouTube with fab barre and floor workouts. How did you log calories in your MFP diary?

@lucerorojo You just described my experiences exactly. Classical ballet dancer, gout diagnosed by college doctor as I was on student healthcare. At the time I was vegetarian and eating lots of legumes. Also my dad has gout so they told that’s what it was. I had to stop dancing due to pain. Ten years later, I am pregnant,…

I tried an advanced barre class which was fantastic. She has some really solid classes that I’m looking forward to trying. Here’s the link: https://youtu.be/QgPjDL7-ylY

Hopped on the scale and it shifted—I’m so happy! I am trying to keep perspective. Water weight is the likely culprit. Still it is heartening!

Thank you so much for this thread! I made it 68 pages of reading, checking links, cheering you on when you school the miseducated, set myths straight, all with a direct, factual approach. Sooooo refreshing as a newbie to have a thread that is active and consistently on point. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

These sound like a great quick and easy protein snack. If you can get some silicone cupcake/fairy cake cups, I’d think you can leave out the grease/oil/butter. I got mine at IKEA but you can do a kitchen store or Amazon. I’ve cooked with them a few times and everything just slides right out.

Hi- sorry sleep is getting you down. I have problems falling asleep too, and get woken up by my kids at night. I get it. Have you ever tried using melatonin to get your sleep patterns in line? I did it for a while years ago, but stopped when I was pregnant. It really helped! I’d take it now, but then I couldn’t get up for…

You’re good to be using calipers. I’ve never done BMI though I was doing measurements for a long time. I think it would be good if it could tell me hydration & pass weight info to the app.

Hi guys- I’m new to all this. I selected the 1200 cal program MFP recommended for 1 lb a week loss. However, when I input my info into an online calculator and got these results. Can you help me understand which is appropriate for someone who works out infrequently and is rather sedentary- I paint mostly seated throughout…

I get kidney stones as well. They are usually just small enough to pass without surgery, but big enough to bring me to my knees. I’ve had mine analyzed. They are the made up of calcium & oxalate. I am supposed to cut dairy, coffee, dark chocolate, leafy greens, and nuts from my diet. But, since I rely on oxalate foods…

Ready to drop 30 lbs that I’ve been fighting to lose for 10 years in stops and starts. This is my first time counting CICO instead of hoping sporadic workouts would take off the weight,

Looking to join in for the first time. I’m a 41 yr old American mom of 3 primary aged kids here in the UK. Had a lot of false starts to my workout/activity goals over my life. Ideally, I’d like to back at my 125lbs from college instead of my current 159lbs. I have eaten clean & healthier every year, and my family is…
