All these before and after photos are very inspirational! Great work, everyone! Keep it up!

@ServusChristi : Great work! And cool car, too!

Please do not give up. Do not quit! I know this weight loss thing is hard, but I promise you it's not impossible. You are a precious human life, and you are worth it! I recommend a trip to the doctor just to be on the safe side of things to make sure you don't have a serious underlying cause to the weight gain, and they…

I find this show inspiring, too. It's interesting to see how they turn their lives around and watching their success unfold.

I love that quote. He was a very smart man.

Proud coffee snob over here! I refuse to give up coffee, I must have my morning cup. That being said, I have cut back on *some* stuff. Like before this weight loss, I used to drink Starbucks lattes every single morning. Not anymore! Now I get the big box of Starbucks K cups (recently got the holiday blend and love it!)…

Mez, fantastic work! You have nothing to be embarassed about, you look amazing! Keep up the great work!

It's Halloween, I already know how this is going to go: 7pm is going to roll around and I'm going to want something sweet. I've already decided what I'm having: a piece of Trader Joe's Pumpkin Bread with cream cheese frosting with a nice cozy mug of Stash decaf mint chocolate oolong tea. Go big or go home, right?!

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has done that (emotional eating). It makes me feel better and less guilty about my bad days.
-
@cmriverside : it's possible, but I doubt it. This particular coworker has put me down before (bit of a history there). Given the pattern of behavior... @Sunrain2018 : Yeahhh, I'm noticing that a lot of haters are coming out of the woodwork lately. I just wish people would treat me with more respect than what they do.

Welp, it's official- my coworkers suck! One of them asked what I brought for lunch today (I was trying to defrost it). I said homemade mashed potatoes, Soycutash from Trader Joe's and BBQ teriyaki tofu. We were talking and I said how I never cooked anything before this weight loss because I always thought it was so…

Oh my gosh, it changed everything- my whole entire life! Before I started losing weight, I was a depressed couch potato with low self esteem who didn't know how to cook, constantly ate takeout, fast food and junk food, drank soda all the time, drank a lot of alcohol and never exercised. My immune system was in bad shape…

Just googled Claim Jumper..... Yikes!!! Those portion sizes! :o

@ mg07030 Member How is Serendipity? It looks nice. Maybe I'll try it next time I'm in the city. It looks similar to Alice's Tea Cup.

UltaRunner, I was honestly as stunned as you are now when that coworker said that to me. And she's normally so supportive!!! It really hurt. People shouldn't feel pressured into things at parties. It's not about the food, it's about what or who you're celebrating. The food is just a footnote in the margin- it's there if…

It's not impossible! We can do it! I'll join you, I'm doing this already anyway- might as well have some company! :) I find that the best thing you can do for these occasions is come up with a game plan and do your very best to stick to it. Having a plan of attack in place usually helps keep me on track.

CZ, it's only natural to feel that way- all of us do in this journey at one point or another. There's always that time when you hit a weight loss plateau and feel like things have stopped working. The scale might not reflect it at the time, but all the efforts you make every single day are working. They do count for…

All good points made, thanks everyone for the insightful input. Maybe it just depends on where you go. What prompted this post was a recent restaurant trip where my friends and I easily split one dessert between the three of us. To me, that's just an insane portion size. Basically three portions in "one". We had ordered…

Hi MG! Greetings from Long Island! I love NYC and would be interested to know what restaurants offer smaller portions? I'd like to check them out. What are your recommendations?

Been trying to up my protein intake as well (find it helps with sweet cravings and energy later in the day). Legumes are great for protein, and I also recommend tofu and tempeh. Those are a great low fat option for getting in extra protein. I've also been eating Powercrunch protein bars- 13 grams of protein, 5 grams of…

Agreed, it's just so rude and makes people not want to even show up which is awful. There's always going to be someone who wants cake and someone who doesn't. That's okay.
-
That was my plan- get in, wish my coworker friend a happy birthday, and get out. But nope- another coworker just had to call me out in front of everyone. So I said okay, grabbed a plate of fruit and went back to my desk. At least with the fruit, I feel like I'm not wasting food (I hate to do that, even if it's junk food.…

Amazing people! Keep it up!

I never thought people would be trying to feed me cake! LMAO! :D
-
Preach! People are just crazy! And yeah, I've seen that too where they practically try to force feed the skinny people. That's just insane to me. I want to go back to people telling me to put down the cake and eat some fruit. LOL. A few have mentioned the "medical" reasons. I could try it, but I'm a lousy liar. I'm just…

Thank you so much, John! Yeah, it turned out to be a strange blessing in disguise. I'm proud to report that I ate healthy the rest of the day, didn't binge eat and even had enough calories leftover to allow myself a small, low sugar, low calorie treat (my new fave lately- powercrunch choklat bars... those things are…

One more recommendation I can make (sorry my responses are rather long- this happens to be a topic I know a lot about) Instead of turning to food to work through your problems, try other things first: talking to a friend or family member about whatever is upsetting you. Finding a hobby that relaxes and de-stresses you, be…

I completely understand- always been an emotional eater as well. That's how I ballooned up to 355 pounds; I was depressed and angry at my lot in life. Whenever I was down, I would binge on junk food and takeout. When I was feeling up, it was a feeling of celebration and "let's have burgers and cake" mindset. There was no…

Forgive me, but what's CICO?

I love Tofu!
