Oh, gosh! I had no idea. Keeping carbs down can definitely be hard. I don't like eating a lot of meat, so I find I can sometimes stray toward the higher carb root veggies in order to feel satiated.
-
Oh, I definitely do. First thing in the morning after using the restroom and always in same clothes (underwear + sports bra). I can imagine how aggravating that is! Is it something that can't be treated with medication? I don't know much about metabolic disorders.

Very nearly. I alternate between snacks with the same amount of calories (an orange or 10 baby carrots, for example), but I buy all my food at the beginning of the week and that's all I eat. I pack and bring all my meals and snacks to work and do not ever eat from vending machines or go get fast food, etc. I've had two…

I don't log in every day and record, but have at it. I just made it public. You'll get a general sense for what I consume each day, as I don't change things up very often. I also don't record my exercise here because it's annoying and I can't ever find the right exercises. But my exercise right now is: Monday: 30 minutes…

Do you know if it’s possible to retain water like this for almost two months? Because I ramped up my exercise at the same time as I started focusing more on my diet about 7 weeks ago. Since then I’ve managed to only put on an extra pound. I have happy scale, but it’s not really helpful for me. It predicts I’ll reach my…

I'll definitely try it. I weighed everything yesterday and worked out at Orange Theory for 1 hour and woke up 1.2 pounds heavier than yesterday. It's so discouraging. I know I shouldn't focus on the scale, but I also know I can't possible look the way I want to look at nearly 170 lbs. I HAVE to shed some weight, but it's…

I weighed everything yesterday. I'm now up another 1.2 pounds. I give up. Embracing the fatass life.
-
I traded out for cauliflower rice yesterday. Even before I was eating ONE HALF cup. It's not like I was pounding down the rice.
-
Anyway, I know I’m seeming grumpy and not open to suggestions, but I really am. I’m just concerned that if if weighing the rice and almond butter results in eating even less, I’m going to feel sick. I’m just discouraged.

Fair point, but even if I’m off by 500 calories, which I don’t think I am, I should still be at a deficit. And I understand weight loss isn’t linear, but that 1.2 pound weight gain put me right back where I started meaning I haven’t lost any weight at all in nearly two months. I’m only 29 and this diet worked for me last…

I’m being belligerent about the whole while weighing thing because I’ve done this exact same diet before (except I ONLY measured foods) and had a lower level of activity where I worked out 2-3 and lost weight at a rate of 1-1.5 lbs per week. For me, I work 7 days a week and even though I prep most foods at home, I have to…

1-10, usually 6 or higher for the Kayla Itsines program I'm doing and 4-5 for my low intensity recovery days. And I just started Orange Theory fitness and that was an 8 or higher in intensity. Both Kayla and Orange Theory include weights and resistance training, should I still incorporate more? Do you have any good…

You might want to address where I say banana (WEIGHED). I'm not eating a whole banana. I eat 29-30 grams banana (it's usually about 1/4 of the banana or close) that equals 25 calories. I cut it up and use it as a topping for my yogurt and save the rest for later. I clearly stated that I weigh it. It's pretty presumptuous…

But here's the thing. The only things I don't weigh are the almond butter, rice (but I measure it), carrots (I eat 10 of them), almonds (I eat 7 of them), salt, and lime juice (squeezed from 1/8th of a lime). At MOST I find it hard to believe that I'm off by more than 75 calories. Even with the almond butter and rice, I…

I'm not measuring everything in cups. I measure 2-3 things out of my entire diet using cups and I'm 100% certain it is not enough off to cause weight stall. I don't eat packaged food or cheese either. I know I'm probably seeming belligerent about this, but it's because I refuse to believe that not weighing a few things out…

Hi, thank you for the advice! 1. The reason I do just straight cardio, walking or jogging is because that is what the routine I'm doing recommends. The three workout days are HIIT and then you're supposed to do two days of lower intensity workouts :). I will consider switching up those days to include some HIIT as well,…

So I should eat all my exercise calories? How do I know exactly what I burned? I'm confused. I thought exercising was to create a larger deficit? I don't know how much more patient I can be. I mean 7 weeks to lose 1.2 pounds seems a little ridiculous, but I'll keep chugging along I guess.

If you look above at my meal plan, I state clearly that I weigh my avocado. I was telling him it's roughly a quarter of the avocado that weighs out to 100 calories. I never said I was eyeballing avocado in my hand, I eyeball salt because it's not even 1/8tsp amount. It's literally a pinch. I'm going to guess that not…

I'll ask my doctor at my next checkup. I also want to get my thyroid checked. I agree about the carbs/sugar thing. I'm not sitting here eating cane sugar all day and I'm not ready to demonize vegetable/fruit carbs because if I did, I'd find myself eating nothing.
-
I don't eat back any exercise calories and I'm 29 years old :). I'm going to recalculate and re-weigh everything once again (sigh, so fun) when I do my meal prep tomorrow just to make sure everything is on point. But I just can't see myself eating much less, I start to get dizzy and don't feel good when I've cut out a…

I did take progress pictures, but I haven't taken a second set yet and my goal this week is to get a measuring tape so I can take measurements and start gauging progress that way rather than depending so much on the scale. At some point though, I do feel I have to lose some weight. I can't envision a scenario where I'd…

Can you explain more? I know a lot of people claim you should even cut out fruits, but I have a hard time accepting that as valid fact. With the exception of the honey I add, which I've read has good health benefits, everything I eat I try to make sure has no added sugar, even the muesli I bought has no added sweetener.…

No, I appreciate all suggestions! I looked up 1 cup cooked brown rice, plain and found it listed at 214-216 calories, so 1/2 cup brown rice would have been 107-108 calories.. I'm not good at tracking everything in my fitness pal, so usually I just look it up online and write it down. Anyway, I don't cook with butter or…

Is that to rev up my metabolism?
-
Well, I only weight at the same time each day, right when I wake up in the morning. I don't weigh throughout the day because I tend to get obsessive. It's finally gone down about 1.2, but it's been stuck there for a couple days now. I can definitely check out a newer scale, I've had this one for probably...7 years or…

Melanie, no I haven't. But I plan on going in for a physical soon and I'll talk to my doctor about it. I've always had a hard time losing weight, but this time just seems even more ridiculously hard than usual.
-
Also, Rach3116, although you count them as free, you would technically be eating more than 1,146 calories per day.
-
Rach3116, how tall are you? I don't feel lowering my net intake is wise.

Everything has already been weighed or measured, I just got tired of writing it over and over. I portion all my foods at the beginning of the week. I don't know how to unlock my diary, I'll figure it out. But I don't log everything in my fitness, I write it all down and have tracked all the calories already and get too…
