Went from 6-pack per day (more on the weekends) to MAYBE 6 total in the last 38 days. The alcohol wasn't the problem as much as the 1500+ additional calories each day. Eye opener for sure.

This reminds me of a quote I saw on somebody's profile, I don't recall who it was, but it said "A year from now you are going to wish you started today." Like you said, time will pass and it matters not what decision you make, so why wait. I know I am glad I dropped the excuses, quite procrastinating, and thinking I was…

THIS is key, if you are doing your part, the process WILL work. Nicely said.

30 days and 12 lbs! Time flies once you get a few weeks into it and a routine going.

You got this, June 1st is just about 8 weeks away. 25 pounds will be a challenge for sure. I am no doctor or health "guru" by any stretch of the imagination, but as long as you're diligent with your calorie tracking and don't give too much power to the scale you will see victory. Another way to look at it, what if you…

Feel free to "steal" the idea. MFP is basically my only support group, yeah I have my family and friends but I feel they may be a bit biased and support whatever I decide, even if I get dumb and give up (which will NOT happen). I just had to get it out there. I don't know if that feeling of defeat will ever go away when it…

I put my socks on this morning, didn't get winded, didn't "overstretch". Just put them on like a normal person. I am amazed at how much volume body fat has. I still have a ways to go, but 12 pounds evidently took up a lot of space.

It's amazing on what 10lbs looks like. Fat is so low mass and high volume it's sometimes unbelievable.

Wow, this post has been going strong for four years! I love science. I only have an associates degree in computer science, but I understood every bit of your explanation, well done. Too bad there is no such thing as a "hobbyist" biochemist. This stuff is very fascinating.

I agree with the cheat meal, rather than a cheat day. For instance, yesterday was my cheat meal day. I ate and tracked everything normally, but ate lighter earlier in the day because I knew what I was having for dinner. Wings and beer. My first beer in two weeks. I ate bbq wings, and drank my single 22oz beer, logged the…

I've got about 95+ more to go (maybe less after today's weigh in).

I like the Ad-Free experience and the ability to track my macros. Between this premium app, my premium pandora subscription, and my gym membership, I am still saving a lot of money. I pay $50 per month on apps and gym, BUT i'm NOT spending the $360.00 per month on beer anymore, so it's totally worth it to me.

I have heard that aquatic exercise is great for people with back injuries. I don't have too much experience with it, but it might be worth calling some pools in your area to find out if there are any classes.

I hear ya, If I didn't do something when I did I would be right up there with you. I started at very close to 300. My problem was beer, and lots of it. As soon as I quit drinking beer, started tracking my macros, and easing into the gym the weight has begun to drop. I'm about two weeks in now and have a long way to go, but…
