Just a regular day, nothing too great or terrible. I got a dress in the mail, an option for my bestie's wedding this summer (it's outdoors, small, with precautions). It is just about a size too small. I got it from the UK, and didn't think about the size conversion. I am seeing this as motivation to keep my habits going…

Decided to try my apartment's workout room tonight. I am vaccinated and it's a maximum of 2 people. Someone came in towards the end of my workout. I struggle with vocal cord dysfunction (totally sounds made up doesn't it!) which is similar to exercise induced asthma. Of course it hit once the guy came in. I had to step out…

So I did a thing. I signed up for a 6 month DietBet challenge. For those of you who don't know, it's a website where you join a group and put up a certain amount of money to lose a certain amount of weight. A typical bet is $35 for a month, pledging to lose 4% of your weight. If you "win" you split the pot with the other…

Where did today go! Daylight savings got me. I stayed up way too late finishing a book and then slept in. With the hour lost, my day seemed to evaporate. Got a strength training work out in. I've pretty much only been doing cardio and walks so I am definitely out of shape in the muscle category! But I made it through doing…

Totally missed checking in yesterday. Did my wind down from the week and popped in a movie and then went right to bed! Have been having some slight hip pain and decided it was time to upgrade my shoes. I got a pretty nice pair of Brooks running shoes and wowza. I tried them out for a walk/run today and they are like…

Today was a better day. I knew it would be, it's just hard to remember that when you're in the funk. I went out for a walk and got in a few running intervals, up to 3 minutes total running! For me that is a big win. I can definitely feel my stamina for exercise is up. One of my goals is to make it up all four flights of…

Tough day today. It started out okay, I didn't even mind the constant rain (melt that snow!), but I just had a series of minor stressors and then at the end of the day got a message from my landlord saying I need to take my bird feeders down as the birds are apparently damaging the heating system. I suspected this was…

Had a good day today. Actually got to meet a coworker in person! Man I have missed the socializing. Got the all-clear from family (I wanted everyone to be OK with my choice) to visit my grandparents after the second shot is in full effect (they get dose two on Friday). I've been vaccinated since late January so it will be…

Had a pretty good day. I decided to start slowly building up to running. And I mean SLOW. Nowhere near the C25K pacing. I've learned to trust my body with building up running intervals. Managed 1.5 minutes spread out across 15-20 second intervals during my 30 minute walk. May not seem like much, but for someone who pretty…

Today was a wonderful day! Because I had my mother over yesterday (masks on and distancing and all that as she hasn't had her shot yet) my place was already tidy! Today I went for a nearly 5 mile walk and got my treat meal of pizza YUMMM. The walk was fantastic. I told myself I'd walk until I started to wear out and just…

Hi all. I got out in the beautiful weather for a long walk with my mom today. She retired last summer and moved to the area to be closer to me and my sisters. Then my sisters did an outdoor grill out and it was lovely! I let them know I've been focusing on eating healthier, and they made some changes (no chips or extra…

Hi all! Ended up staying up too late last night to fold laundry mountain. I went full force and did 5 loads of laundry during my workday (at home) PLUS had two loads from the week before that never got folded. I told you-laundry mountains! Anyway I crashed right after so no posting. Today I was tired but still a nice day.…

Remembered I said I was going to post a photo of yesterday’s sunset! Second is from today’s after work walk.

Made it my two days back in office woot woot! It went better than expected, and I actually really enjoyed parts of it. But also, I'm happy to be back working from home until next Tuesday. I have laundry mountains to do and it will help to be at home to change out the loads. Gorgeous sunset today for my (indoor) bike. I'll…

Thank you all so much for the kind words about my grandpa. It really means a lot. He’s fine but still in a lot of pain so I am hoping he takes it easy. Probably not, stubborn grandparents lol. Work was very good but being back in person with all the extra disinfecting (and forgetting where everything is!) was exhausting. I…

Day went well until this afternoon. My grandfather (89) tripped and fell on a rug and got pretty hurt. He went to the ER which was backed up so he was there all day (he's just going home now) getting cleared for any bone breaks or internal bleeding. He's fine, just a deep muscle bruise. Needless to say I've been a wreck…

I'm starting to realize how much of my mood was based on food. Bad day=have a tasty meal to feel better, great day=have a treat to reward yourself. This may sound weird but it's almost like a loss having to disconnect feeling better from what I eat. Or relying on high calorie foods to feel better. Just my musings today.…

Keeping this short because I am beat. Went on a nice long walk with the gorgeous weather. Had a great loss week 1, which I usually do (and then lose nothing week 2 lol). Definitely motivating. Was able to have my treat meal and stay in the green, but let a few other goals go. For me it's not about being perfect but being…

So great to hear everyone talking about the wonderful weather they're having! I ended up getting sick of winter two weeks ago and put out all of my spring decorations. I needed it! Nice to see the weather starting to catch up. Tomorrow will mark 1 week of healthy habits for me. I'm going to do an intentional treat meal,…

People have really been showing up the last few days! Nice work all! Today I can feel the effects of my new exercise habits. The first few days I think my body was in shock lol. Now it's protesting haha. I still am feeling really good overall and seem to be keeping a good balance. That's definitely a benefit of coming back…

Day went by very quickly, it wasn't necessarily busy but I packed a lot in. All of my measurements keep showing how out of shape I am-I know thank you! Trying to remember to focus on the fact that I am showing up and that counts too. Went for a walk on my path and there were still a few ice patches. I am terrified of ice…

Day 3 of exercising in a row! Probably the sum total of times I exercised in 2020 lol. It feels great but I am BEAT. About to head to bed early. A friend reminded me that daylight savings is just around the corner and that will give us another hour after work for our walks! This gave me such a boost of hope :) JFT Tuesday:…

I did well with exercise today-hopped on the indoor bike (my outdoor bike on a trainer lol) during my open hour for work and got a quick walk in after work when it was still light out. I am back to my old pattern of being too low for calories when I do exercise. Fortunately I've learned from old mistakes and I know my body…

Had a mixed day. Was pretty lazy for the first half, then my bestie and I got out for a nice snowshoe. It was almost 40 degrees here (which is glorious compared to the negative temps we've had) and lightly snowing. Just beautiful out. Well a 2-hour snowshoe for this sedentary lady tuckered me out. I was able to get some…

Hi all! Back for hopefully what will be a while. I've been off/on this board for years. Started a few years ago and did very well for about a year and my weight has slowly crept back up since. COVID really did me in and I've been incredibly sedentary for the last year. Big picture I had some really great life changes over…

Hi all! I am sorry I’ve been MIA lately. It’s been a bit chaotic, I’m sure for everyone. While I am very grateful for my job, figuring out telehealth and working from home with a full caseload has been so overwhelming. I feel like this last week I am just getting back to normal. But to compensate I’ve been doing a lot of…

Hi everyone, Had an exhausting day. Had a full day of telehealth sessions, and it's just weird to do a full day of therapy without actually sitting in the same room as someone else. Got VERY upset with my manager today. So my work has been telling us we are not able to provide telehealth from home until emergency…

Hello my healthy teammates! Today was a better day. I got the job offer, and was able to do my first big time negotiation. I was able to get a signing bonus and extra PTO. I also asked for a slight salary bump from what they offered, so the recruiter will check in with the team and get back to me Monday. Honestly, it's a…

Hi all, Today was just exhausting. We got clearance to schedule through telehealth, and it was a scramble to help everyone figure out how to do so and start contacting clients. All in all good news, but just a lot of changes. Ended up eating out because I want to enjoy while I can. Should be getting the job offer…
