  • I found a cool visualizer website. Enter your height/weight M/F...and see what the computer visualizer says you look like. It is 3D so you can rotate the visualizer around. I had a fun time with this making me taller, shorter, lighter, heavier :-) http://www.bmivisualizer.com/ and just for fun, here are examples of body…
  • I am a coffee snob. Kenyan AA, Columbian, Sumatra - all whole bean - all freshly ground - are my favorites. FWIW - if you must buy coffee that is prepackaged, Starbucks and Peet's are acceptable alternatives IMHO. I will give up bourbon before I give up coffee.
  • 1 mile swim. Splits of 23 and 26 minutes per half mile. Managed 1/3 freestyle, the rest was side stroke. Hoping for 50% freestyle next swim.
  • @sannklinger - CONGRATS on the loss! I only lost 75 pounds and I had the same fears about regaining the weight but after 18 months of losing weight, eating more food volume was not an option (i.e. eat the same foods I ate while losing, but more of it). My solution was to eat more luxuriously. Peanut butter and (more) bacon…
  • 58 minutes Stages Flight (indoor cycling) - 17.1 mph average rest day tomorrow
  • 62 minutes Stages Flight (indoor cycling) - 17.4 mph average
  • 4.4 mile walk - while watching Game of Thrones I wasn't feeling well but I always feel much better after I do any sort of workout, even one as easy as this.
  • I found this website that, in addition to BMI, calculates your body-fat (using a tape measure - not calipers) and also your ideal weight (big range though) and quite a few other things if you are adventurous. https://www.calculator.net/ I guess the goal would be to be in the healthy range for as many of these indicators as…
  • We all know that BMI, alone, is only a basic indicator, at best. Throw in waist to hip ratio, blood pressure, cholesterol, alcohol consumed, smoker or not, time spent moving (exercise), body fat measurements, resting heart rate, general mood, etc. and you have a much better picture.
  • Exactly!!! I turned all of mine off about 18 months ago and found it to be liberating. When cycling the trail, if I get a phone call, I can stop and take it... When running the trail, I can stop and chat with a friend for a few minutes... My workouts might take a little longer, but they became more enjoyable. Instead of…
  • Mile swim...52 minutes. 72 pool lengths. Mixed between freestyle and whatever else I felt like doing at the time.
  • I was with a group of people and we were chatting about lunch - where to go, what to get, etc. A few in the group were trying to lose weight and were having a tough time making a good choice. Before we scattered to grab our meals, one of them told me, "You're lucky. You can eat whatever you want." He forgot to add, "in…
  • The day after Christmas is: The day the gym parking lot will start to overflow - again. No biggie. In 8 weeks it will be back to normal.
  • I agree with @sijomial ... you will pedal your legs silly if you don't use a road bike.
  • I agree with @dewd2 but to answer your question another way, I suppose you could use a heart rate monitor to help see which workout burns the most cardio-calories.
  • Great post OP...must've been hard to write about something so easy to do ;-)
  • Every morning immediately after taking care of - ahem - morning business
  • Why did someone check the "Woo" for every single post in this thread? I ride mostly on the KATY Trail and usually get about 700 or so miles per season. I turned off all of my tracking apps and now only play music and enjoy my rides so much more. My cycling diet consists of the following: After 2 hours or so I usually stop…
  • 12-01-18 - 178.8 lbs 12-04-18 - 177.0 12-07-18 - 178.0 - it's definitely not a straight line down to goal haha Total loss for December: 0.8 lbs
  • Breakfast: 2 large eggs (140 cal), 2 Jimmy Dean sausage patties (225 cal), Pam (10 cal.) = about 35 calories Edit to add coffee - how did I forget that staple!
  • @urloved33 As I stated previously (maybe you didn't see - it was the last message on the prior page) - I own a business and must have a business licence in order to operate. Both scooters companies STILL do not have a business license or a provisional business license after months of operation. I would be shuttered within…
  • Business in the ER has really picked up since the scooters have arrived. It's in the news a lot. Earlier this summer I found this scooter on the Katy Trail about 8+ miles south of the nearest KATY Trail access. Yup - it came from 8+ miles that-a-way.
  • 12-01-18 - 178.8 lbs 12-04-18 - 177.0 Total loss for December: 1.8 lbs
  • Bird scooters showed up in my town earlier this year - BOOM! Lyme scooters showed up a couple of months later. They both do not have a business license, and still don't. I run a business and MUST have one or I get shuttered. What the heck?! Thankfully winter came early and they are rarely used and the numbers have been…
  • Hunting, fishing, going cool and unusual places with my wife, making jerky...and...smoking meats - ribs, fatty's, wings, steaks, prime rib, salmon, turkey, etc.
  • It is definitely not a straight line to success. Hang in there! Sometimes mini-goals are helpful. You might want to look at the CHALLENGES section under the COMMUNITY tab. Lots of active peeps with the same struggles.

  • My feed and food diary are not private. I drink bourbon and log the calories. I don’t eat clean...whatever that means. I exercise and log everything daily. Don’t care if you play pickle ball or enter iron man competitions, just looking for like minded peeps.
