  • Yep, this is what I do. But I also only use MFP from my computer, I don't have the app on my phone.
  • I'll have to look into this one as well. At this point I'd try just about anything. I'm a lifelong pain person due to some birth stuff, then in my late teens/early 20s had some injuries that caused issues with my back, and then my immune system went haywire and now I'm in pain everywhere. If it was just my leg like when I…
  • I upped my calories a bit around the first of this year. I was at a huge deficit for quite a while, now not so much. I'm still losing a bit of weight on occasion, but it's a lot slower than before. I still try to keep my carbs around 20g net, but I don't fret of I go over by a bit. I'm more concerned with getting my…
  • I think everyone is different, and also think it depends on how long someone has been low carb/keto. I had a small portion of rice just a few days ago with some roasted garlic chicken and veggies and I didn't notice any changes in how my body reacted. Rice doesn't affect me at all. But I've also been doing this for over a…
  • I did these for dinner. Bell peppers stuffed with diced bell pepper, diced white and red onion, beef, riced cauliflower, a bit of garlic, and low carb sauce. Turned out delicious.
  • One of the things I do around here is that I almost always cook our dinner and occasionally I taste test something that I don't eat to make sure it's done or seasoned properly. But what I do in those cases if it's spaghetti or potato or something is spit it in the trash. I never really cared for pasta or potatoes or such…
  • There's no way to track net carbs on the app, but there is a way to do it with a computer and a browser with a browser script add on.
  • As low as 45 - 50 grams and as high as 140 grams, just depends on what I eat. But I'm averaging around 75 - 80 grams or so.
  • I've always found that during the summer I lack an appetite, and it's especially bad now that I'm low carb/keto. There's times where two, there, even four days in a row I'm just not that hungry at all and only getting in maybe 50 - 75% of the protein I need. But I'm trying not to fret about it too much.
  • It definitely helps with my joint inflammation, migraines, and skin rash. I'd say on average it's 70 - 90 percent better depending on the day/week. The one thing that it hasn't helped is my pain levels and I'm in some pretty awful pain most of the time. Some is lifelong, some from injuries, and some is autoimmune related…
  • I started for medical reasons as well, to help with autoimmune related inflammation and migraine control.
  • I try to stay around 20g net, but I don't fret if I go over a bit.
  • This is what I do as well. I also log things like my coffee and Splenda.
  • Good for you! Today I went to a baby shower for my niece - she's expecting twins! And even though they know my dietary restrictions the menu was Italian so I allowed myself a cheat day. Yeah, I'll feel rough for a couple days but it's worth it to not appear rude. My joints are already swelling a bit as I type this.…
  • Migraine control & inflammation management was my primary reason for going low carb/keto as meds alone weren't doing it. In my case it's working. I still get migraines but not nearly as often and not nearly as intense and typically it's only when exposed to a trigger. Don't ask me how or why it's exactly working - all I…
  • I've noticed a huge reduction in my symptoms since I've changed my eating habits. Wheat, flour, sugar, corn, potatoes, anything of the such triggers my body within a few hours to the next day. Swollen red joints, red autoimmune face rash, etc. The one high carb thing that doesn't seem to trigger anything for me that I've…
  • If you use MFP on a regular destop/laptop browser and use IE, Safari, Chrome, or Firefox you can install Tampermonkey and then this script to get net carbs and some cool pie charts. https://github.com/Surye/mfp-keto-userscript
  • Every Wendy's I've been to near me has no problem giving me a bunless burger - it's one of my go-to orders. They stick it right in a little container for me and give me a fork and knife. My other common order is the Southwest Avocado Chicken salad.
  • Oh my that looks delicious! I've made a similar one though it's been a while. Need to do it again.
  • I was so busy that I unintentionally fasted Thursday minus my morning coffee and my daily water intake. Never felt a tad bit hungry. I did go mildly overboard today though and forced myself to eat. Morning coffee, cottage cheese and some peanuts at lunch, and a steak and broccoli for dinner. But even going a few hundred…
  • This is correct. They use a combination of c00kies, I P addresses, search history, etc to serve you those things. Since I have a background in this field I use a combination of several things to circumvent this. Br0wser based extensi0ns, a D N S sinkhole that protects the entire home network from malicious sites, and a few…
  • I haven't had any type of curry since January when I made this basic Vindaloo. Nothing special as it was pretty much sauce and chicken topped with peanuts spread on some riced cauliflower.
  • Pretty much, with a few exceptions. Jeff Keith of Tesla hails from Idabel, OK, and used to occasionally be in the Ark-La-Tex. Got to hang out with him and Tommy Skeoch when they had a band called Bar 7 for a couple years 'round 1999 or 2000. Leon Russell originally hailed from Oklahoma as well. Missed a chance to meet him…
  • That's pretty cool! Twenty or so years ago I was an IT guy for several radio stations and got to meet several rock/pop & country musicians. Most were just perfectly normal people, though there were a couple has-been rock stars who were downright jerks while a bunch of us were backstage at a concert. I've always treated…
  • Beautiful car! I also did this for a while. My father was an old school hot rodder and I grew up around old stuff and had my first shop at age 18 back in '93. College by day studying drafting & design/engineering & computer science and building cars in my free time. I sold off most all my car stuff in 2005-2006. I've done…
  • 2, 4, and 7 for sure. Plus I'm not exactly someone most women would date for many reasons.
  • Typically I have an aversion to protein drinks and such things, however the local Publix had a buy one get one sale on Slimfast Advanced Nutrition shakes last week. 20g protein, 180 calories, and 1 net carb per bottle. They're surprisingly good.
  • Ditto. I only take in fiber via low carb friendly veggies and fruit. The only supplements I take are a calcium, magnesium & zinc and upping my sodium intake. Occasionally I swap the regular salt for lite salt.
  • I grew up hearing about a dash of salt in the coffee grounds before brewing drip coffee. Another one is using cleaned and lightly crushed fresh eggshells in the grounds to take the acidity out of coffee, especially if it's cheap beans or a strong brew. Of course that won't work if you use one of those pod machines.
  • I've always loved sardines, canned fish fillets, oysters, etc. Especially the ones in mustard or hot sauce.
