That's fantastic that you have a therapist!

I also have a history of binge eating. I have loosely used IF for years. Couple of things. IF may have some minor health benefits, but it is no magic bullet. I hate to be Debby Downer, but IF is not a fix for underlying food addictions/disorders etc. Having said that, I am a big believer in self experimentation (within…

Meal timing has very little impact on your body composition. Sleep, however, can impact your health, mood, training, and body composition. In my mind, whatever helps you sleep better, go for it.

Emotional/binge eating has been an issue for me since I was a kid. It did not really manifest as a problem until I was an adult. Even then, I was not self aware enough to see the underlying issues. Over the last few years I have gotten a better handle on it but still lapse. I recognize triggers and have some habits that…

It is drastic. Which almost never works. I think you answered your own question(s).

I am still counting it as GAINZ! LOL

Currently cutting after an accidental bulk. :/ :/

I appreciate this discussion. I have struggled with borderline binge eating, eating until I am stuffed, etc. most of my life. I have made progress but still laps and am still uncovering all the reasons for the behavior. At the very least, I have identified triggers that contribute to a binge and habits that mitigate…

I am an oldie but newbie too! Welcome back :)

Amazing! Congratulations! Proof that a simple approach works in the long run.

Kind of my story too.. Just returning to MFP after a summer of all the food. Feel free to add :)

Trust me, you are not the only one. I am a binge/emotional eater. Despite losing a lot of weight and keeping it off for several years, I still struggle with these eating splurges. Particularly over the last couple of months. I wish there was an easy fox for this. I have noticed some patterns or behaviors that do seem to…

Congrats on the weight loss and subsequent maintenance! Can you eat junk foods and still see your abs? Maybe. Have you been trying to drop more weight but are stuck? If so, the junk food could be part of the problem, but it could also be due to many other factors as well. You could always try cutting back on the junk food…

Hi Ioana! I am just returning to MFP. It is a pretty good app and community. I have about 15 lbs to lose as well after a summer of over indulging :o . Good luck!

Let's do this! Feel free to add me.

Same... Just finished a gree tea :)

Eating to a certain number day in, day out is really not optimal. Some days you will be more hungry, less hungry, more active, less active. Your body and hunger is not a programmatic calculation. Yes, if you consistently eat less than your target calories, you will probably lose weight more quickly in the short term.…

I criticize myself... My eating/binges can get quite ridiculous :/

I am just going to echo what a coupe of others have said... Choosing a lifting style based on calorie burn is probably not the best approach. But kudos to you for getting into resistance training!

Chipotle is my default lunch spot :p :p :p :p

I do not have as much weight to lose, but I have fallen back into some old patterns the last couple of months and now have some lbs to drop. Feel free to add me for support, friendship, etc.

Returning to MFP after a long hiatus to get myself back on track and support others. In for more friends!

Welcome back. This is my first day back on MFP in ages as well. I don't think MFP has changed the way it calculates calories. Even if they calculations are different, it's just a starting point that is an educated guess. Just monitor and adjust accordingly. Some people do figure out their exercise calories and add those…

I IF most days.... Have been for years. Feel free to add me :)
