I went to inspect an new gym The guy was really helpful and nice. He explained that on intake they do some tests and measure etc. One of the thing they measure is body fat; His comment, "but I don't think that will be a discussion point in your case" felt good. Also you could see him think - how can I push this woman…

I take a salad to work every day I prepare them a day before. A salad is easy and travels well as long as you don't add dressing I noted that dressing and other acids containing stuff will make them go floppy (gurken, for instance). WA those last minute if at all you want them then you can keep them about 24-30 hours when…

Today marks 1 year or rather 365 days of minimal 10K steps daily. No Garmin badge for that though. I'll keep going of course; 500 is a nice number too :-)

Quite a few restaurants only assemble foods/plate these days Many of the ingredients come preprepared anyway A lot of these prepped foods are already made in highly automated factories anyway and thus it would only be the net step to install robots/automation in a restaurant. But I love cooking and therefore for me not in…

I come form laboratory/factory work where we had do weigh things very accurately We had to calibrate the sales to ensure that it was weighting correctly with standards weights that were checked by an independent institute. The scale was also calibrated by professionals to see if it read true and if not; what was the number…

Don't be scared of maintenance - @TavistockToad is totally right in how to approach it. Find a maintainers thread for support in easing into it and enjoy that journey too. Maintaining is not that hard but like loosing weight does ask for focus. Personally I weigh myself once or twice a week for monitoring. Whenever I reach…

I had liposuction over 25 years ago on my legs and bottom. Did it work - sure in the short term it did. But my legs and bottom were not as thin and toned as I had wished for. Of course the lack of toning was because I did not work out  But my legs and bottom did improve and I did loose 2 Kg very quickly. I have 4…

Maintaining is hard Been in maintenance for 15 months now and I continue loggin Not as precise as I did when I was on my journey down but I still log. I know that it helps me to balance better. I weigh weekly and when I am up toward the high end of my maintenance weight Simply tighten my logging and as a result come down.…

I hear you. I too am known for wolfing down my food and eating because it is the time on the clock. I am training myself to listen more to my body and put my cutlery down as often as I can and chewing! It is a big change that I know helps a lot.

You'll get a variety of answers here as the over 50's gouger consist of people that have been running since forever to people that started last week (on jan 1st) Speed varies greatly with intensity, ability and weight as well as medical issues and simply height. Lastly the 50+ group is 50 to 100 that is a lot of years…

Today marks 5 year of contineus logging. It does not say so on my profile as this profile is new here. Over the years I have used different logging tools but returned to MFP as, despite its many flaws, it works best for the way I like to work

I binge when I am stressed and have nothing much to do and feel cornered. Food then seems to have a calming effect on me. For instance at a family gathering and there is lots of food at the table and I feel I can't leave the room and due to many family interactions feel like screaming. I just keep picking up food and…

Yup I read with a huge amount of sceptisism always. The internet is a wonderful place, but it is also full of woo and make believe

I used to wish that. These day I don't; I am that person. As others suggested I started walking and lost weight. It is then that I started running something I used to hate with a vengeance and now love doing. It takes more than wishing but it can be done

Because the weight is in grams (the gees in Kaygees) Kilo is the 1,000 metric prefix So 1Kg (Kaygees) is 1 kilograms = 1,000 grams MG is a Megagram therefore 1,000,000 grams is 1,000Kg mg is milligrams therefor 1/1,000 of a gram equals 0,001g Therefore Kg is is more precise as opposed to a Kilo as a kilo could also refer…

Just reread this part. Sleep is a priority for me. I tend to sleep on average 8 hours (7-9) a night. In order to be able to keep up with my life, work and everything, including exercise, in it I have to sleep 8 hours otherwise I am just too tired to do anything. In the last couple of months I have had a incredibly high…

I agree with @AnnPT77 on when people post on a thread like this. Those that are around of it will post more. Plus don't think for a minute I started off with the schedule that I have now! When I started my journey over 5 years ago my exercise schedule was nothing nothing like it is now. It consisted of walking to work 2…
