It’s still all about calories to lose weight...those people you’re watching are still in a calorie deficit.

Usually a cup of coffee for some energy

Stretch before and after your workouts. Your older body will thank you! Also, drink plenty of water and don't get upset when you see the scale go up after starting working out.

Down 61lbs from 229lbs at my highest. Now working on maintaining any muscle I might have left, goal weight is 150lbs. I'm 5'7". Lesson learned, go to the gym.

I doubt you ate enough in one weekend to gain 5 pounds of fat. Just remain consistent, it'll be a tiny blip on the radar. I suggest using Happy Scale to track your weight. Also, remember your goal is to lose fat and not weight...many times our weight goes up from water retention.

Drinking Diet Coke has significantly helped my weight loss. It's a good snack when I am craving something sweet.

What is up with this thread? Be in a calorie deficit and you'll lose weight. Regardless those calories eaten are a carb, a protein, or a fat. Keep it basic.

I work out 4 times a week, each workout has about 20 mins of cardio and 25mins of strength training. My calorie deficit is still the hardest thing for me on my journey, I like to workout so it's an extra bonus.

Not exceed my calorie deficit/goal.

I get unmotivated when I think "I have only xx amount of weight to lose to hit my goal" because that number can seem daunting (even though I've lost 60lbs). So instead, I focus on smaller goals such as "3 weeks from today I want to weigh 1.5lbs less than I do today." 1.5lbs seems so much more doable than 10lbs.

Yes I did and I regret it. I lost a ton of muscle mass and could barely lift boxes during a move last year. I wondered how much I'd struggle if I had baby soon... if I'd be able to pick them up. So I am not in the gym.

I do! Just make sure you're not over estimating those calories burned.

Yes, I had the same experience. Took all of the same blood tests and they were normal. I did go to my doctor who mentioned that it's pretty common and she didn't see big chunks of loss so she wasn't too concerned. I had had some life stress, started taking blood thinners and then restricting my calories which all…

Walking and listening to podcasts/e-books is a favorite!

It's so routine for me at this point that in the morning when I am planning my day, I am also planning my meals in my diary. I pre-enter pretty much everything I'm going to eat in the morning. It's just easier for me to have a plan than to go through the day without one. When I weigh my food, I'll adjust what I pre-entered…

If you're not losing, you're either eating more than you think or not burning as many calories as you think. You seem confident about your calorie intake so take a look at the other side of the equation. Getting an extra 700-900 calories a day in exercise means you must be doing a ton of cardio (not walking 10k steps,…
