  • I wonder if you maybe added more "fake" calories in the quick-add option, and then balanced them out by adding "fake" exercise to negate the fake calories, if it would give you an estimate for what your "net" calories were? You might have to play around with it and I'm not entirely sure it would even work.
  • Maybe like a week or two? I go over on calories more than I care to admit, sometimes by a lot. I think the key to success for most people, or at least for myself, is that you don't let that entirely derail you and you get back to it the next day. 60 lbs down (initially, I'm up a decent amount because I'm pregnant but its…
  • Think about it this way. If you'd have started this time last year, where would you be RIGHT now? Maybe where you want to be, maybe not quite, but a lot closer to your goals than you are today. Think about this time NEXT year. Do you want to be sitting at the same spot you're in now, or would you like to be closer to your…
  • Yes. I lost a total of 60 lbs and the first 25 were without exercise. I still ate the things I enjoyed, just in moderation and with calories in mind.
  • Welcome back! ♥ Eating disorder recovery is so tough. I suffered with one for roughly 6 years before I finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel and recovered. I've been in recovery for close to 2 years now. So rest assured, there is hope. One thing that really helped me was to open up to people in my life about it.…
  • Yes! I've gone down a half a shoe size with losing 60lbs. And my hands are sooooo much smaller. I had a picture of my hand next to a huge gypsy moth before I lost weight. And then I took another picture of my hand after the weightloss and the difference is astounding, even though its not something anyone ever really thinks…
  • @quilteryoyo @shanaber Thank you for the tips! I will certainly try them. As much as I love him, behavior/stubbornness wise, he is the worst dog I have ever owned. I've trained so many dogs, and he is the only one that has given me a run for my money. He is so bullheaded and when we get outside, there isn't a single reward…
  • This is kinda a near future mini goal, but one I'm excited for nonetheless. I'm 25 weeks pregnant and I've told myself that after my baby is here, once I get back down to pre-pregnancy weight, I'm going to reward myself with getting my belly button pierced! It's something I've always wanted but I've always been too…
  • Depending on how long its been, you might be able to get it refunded. I accidentally forgot to cancel my trial too and was extremely short on cash that month, so I contacted Google Play support and MyFitnessPal and they had it refunded in less than a day.
  • They make little single serving, pre-seasoned (or plain) tuna pouches. They're usually like a dollar each. 70-100 ish calories and 12-15g protein.
  • Not really. I sometimes would get migraine headaches and puke from having too much caffeine but if I don't have a ton it doesn't affect me. I've been drinking decaf for a good 6 or 7 months now. I don't notice a difference, except maybe I am less jittery and slightly less anxious. It doesn't affect my sleep at all. But,…
  • The only thing with batch making soup is you're never guaranteed to get the same amount of each ingredient in each serving. So the calories in each serving may actually vary. If you're the only one eating it, though, it will balance itself out.
  • I feel like it would help with sodium but calories, I'm not so sure. Most of them are canned in water, at least the ones I buy. Wouldn't you want to drain them anyway? I mean, who wants to eat straight up veggies in water?
  • Unfortunately neutering will not stop marking... apparently marking is a learned behavior, not an instinctive one due to hormones. Even my spayed female lifts her leg against a tree on occasion. I've got a neutered male dog who marks EVERYTHING (thankfully only OUTSIDE) but he's such a pain in the *kitten* to take running…
  • I spent a good 4 hours deep cleaning my house before I started meal prepping. Went to meal prep. And dumped an entire 10 lb bag of rice over onto my freshly mopped kitchen floor.
  • I would reevaluate your calorie intake before I tried Keto, personally. With Keto you might experience a flush of water weight and will think you've lost your 5-10 lbs, but when you return to your normal diet it will come back. Keto can be helpful to some in limiting calories, yes. For me, I would feel deprived and it…
  • Aww, come on, you could totally rock that in the snow 😂
  • I haven't really been feeling motivated these past couple weeks so I'm really thankful I'm part of a Runbet to kinda force me to stay accountable. That, and the comfort of knowing I should hopefully have an easier labor if I stay active. It is getting way harder, though. I think next month I'm going to drop my goal from 50…
  • I estimated for a long time and I lost nearly all of my weight doing that. When it came time to maintain, I found I was still losing weight and my hair even started falling out, I had zero energy, etc. I started measuring and low and behold, I was overestimating. By a lot. I was way under eating and didn't even realize it.…
  • I will agree with you that it can be delicious, if enjoyed on its own and for what it is. But if you expect it to compare with normal pizza, you will be greatly disappointed. It is good, yes. I enjoy it. But you can tell the difference.
  • Mackerel, herring, sardines, and most types of salmon you can get at a grocery store are considered higher-fat fish, I believe.
  • New here! To this thread, at least. I've been on MFP for a good 2-3 years and lost roughly 60 lbs. I'm up about 20 of that (currently 24 weeks pregnant) and trying to keep my weight gain healthy and reasonable without going overboard. My goal for today is to not eat any of the cookies and brownies that the sheriff had…
  • Another random, perhaps dumb question. How important is stretching? Or even warming up, for that matter? What sort of things do you do to warm up? I will admit, I haven't been taking running very seriously for very long. About a year, maybe. So i'm still inexperienced and learning as I go. I don't really warm up, I just…
  • First off, its great that you want to help her Especially for the right reasons. My husband is my personal trainer and I appreciate the heck out of him for pushing me (and other things, too.) But I agree that she has to want it. It is a solitary pursuit. If she has self esteem issues as it is, what might seem to you like…
  • Cold and rainy is my favorite weather to run in :) You never get too hot, and usually have all the roads/trails all to yourself :)
  • Everything. I daydream. That's my me-time, to decompress. That's why I love it so much.
  • I'm actually not entirely sure what I should be doing. I was lifting pretty heavy before the gym closed here. Not heavy for some people, but heavy for me. I'm 6 months pregnant, though, and by the time our gym reopens it will be two months off from the gym, so I almost don't know where to start. My midwife gave me the okay…
  • I would agree with saving calories for nighttime. I'm always wanting to snack before bed. It's the only time I get cravings. So I've started saving myself some calories for it, because its better than beating myself up over it when I cave.
  • I haven't had one, yet. I work from 6am-6pm. I've been getting up out of my office chair and pacing this little room for 6 minutes, every 30 minutes. Just to keep my butt moving. I can't stand sitting today. Tonight I plan to take my dogs for a 30 minute walk. It's a rest day from running with us. And then I'm gonna try…
  • Homemade sub sandwiches (we eat them on our kayaking trips) watermelon cherries banana chips (again with the kayaking) shishkabobs anything grilled, although we grill in the winter, too And then since we garden a lot, certain fresh vegetables are very "summer" to me Acorn squash, kohlrabi, and corn on the cob being big ones
