Here's what I've come up with so far. And, feel free to add your own vacation survival ideas!! 1. Make the most of our alone time: maximize fasting in every way possible; hikes and long walks for exercise; careful low-carb shopping (Lite and Fit yogurt; prepared chicken strips and spring mix; good cheddar; almond milk for…

Wow, that’s willpower!!! I have a 2+week vacation (away from the scale) coming soon and I’m literally terrified. Apart from being unable to weigh, we’ll be meeting up with old friends who’ll no doubt have tons of food and drink-based evenings planned. Oh, geez. My goal this week is to develop a thoughtful plan to make this…

@AustinRuadhain: Each day, I am in awe of your incredible consistency in all that you do; and, your generosity of spirit in cheering us all on. I so look forward to your posts. Thank you!!!!

Kres, will we automatically be included in the Slimpossibles for August? Assuming our last July weigh in will be our new starting weight for August?

Hi, Fleetwood... it’s my first month, and I had the same question. I checked our F2F home page and noticed that there is now Week 5 for July, ending Aug 3rd.

Kates’ Top 5: 1. Determine your calorie limit and your net carb limit and stick to it! 2. Rearrange your MFP logging settings to display fiber content immediately after total carb content in all foods—- makes subtracting to learn NETcarbs a breeze. 3. Splurge on special low carb food items that can help satisfy personal…

I, too, am doing 20 to 25 gms net carbs,1200 cal, and successfully added intermittent fasting (16:8) to help ‘unstall’ my weight loss. MFP is so helpful for tracking!!! And I pretty much avoid alcohol, even if it fits in my carbs and cals.

Welcome!!!!!!! This is s great group and you’ll find so much encouragement and support!!!!

You know, as much as I try to prepare myself, I’m never really ‘ready’ to stay the same. Probably few of us are. (I’m getting used to it though🙄). I keep trying to remind myself that this is meant to be hard.... and I’ll remember that and use it to help keep me from slipping back once I reach my goal. Which I will! We’ve…

@raleighgirl09 said: It was a better week - I made better choices, I was more intentional in all directions and I was more focused on logging and being real. All of those things make a difference. It sure did!!! Great week!!!

Whenever my scale doesn’t budge, I tell myself that it’s a WIN.... because in ‘the old days’ not so long ago, every step on the scale was up 2 or 3 lbs. I was totally out of control. We’re not anymore!! Congrats on staying steady!

With all you’re going through, you continue to have AMAZING steps. I tend to curl up into a ball when aim stressed or upset. Every step is a step forward. Hugs!

I agree wholeheartedly. Facing ‘what is’ makes us stronger and more resilient. But it takes work and reframing our mindsets to accept those blips in this weight loss journey. I found this article full of great insight and helpful suggestions. It is subtitled “6 Ways to Deal with the Ups and Downs of Weight Loss (without…

I cannot thank you enough for this response!!!! I am doing 16:8, but will try the time adjustment to eat later in the evening. I do not restrict fat, but my worst craving nights seem to be when I haven’t met my protein macros. Finally, I recently had blood work done for a doctors appointment and learned that my potassium…

Morning, and huge hugs, congratulations and “you’ve got this!” to all of our Slimpossibles! I have a question for @ Teresa and anyone else who is successfully doing Intermittent Fasting (IF): I am experiencing some very late night (11 or midnight) food cravings/ snack cravings and have shamefully gotten up and headed to…
