It feels weird when I have my arms down by my sides. Because that's not *quite* the angle they're used to falling into.

I wish I could put an exclamation point on that "like" I just gave your post.

I just wanted to address this honest question. Family gatherings were frequent. When I lived with my grandparents, we went out to an all-you-can-eat buffet once a week. There were elaborate gatherings every holiday, and on a lot of birthdays, and any time somebody was in from out of town. Every time we got together,…

Agree totally with the poster above. That's what I was just coming in to say. I want to be able to shop for clothes without having to automatically go straight to the "plus size" section. Where, as we all know too well, they don't have nearly as much of a selection. When I see something cute on display, I want to fish…

That really feels good, doesn't it?

He had to ask my opinion about everything. Honestly, I don't care what color socks he wears today.

I don't even know my goal weight yet. I don't even know the "right" weight for me, since like the poster above, I've always been bigger than average. So I'm just setting small step-by-step goals, and making new ones as I accomplish them. Now I'm being prepped for RNY surgery. Before they operate, they want me to lose 5% of…

I gave away a belt today that I used to wear, because now even the tightest notch is too loose for me. My BMI is now under 40.

Laughing pretty hard here. Mr. Brady and I would drop Marcia and Jan off at the movies while we go out to dinner. Then we'd pick them up afterward, and we'd all go home. Fortunately, Alice has been watching the other kids.

To clarify, I meant I'll wipe off the equipment when I start going back to the gym. Until there is no more cold/flu in this house (my daughter has it now) I'm not going.

Thank you for the advice, everybody. I will be sure and wipe off the equipment when I go to the gym.

It's been my experience that when people tell an obese person "you're not fat," what they mean is "you're not ugly, sloppy, or lazy, and/or you're not constantly shoving bonbons into your face." If they see a large body size but not the stereotypes associated with it, they're going to think, "not fat, merely heavy." One of…

Read and understood. Walking/light exercise it is, as long as my temp is low enough. Nothing heavy. According to MedicineNet, a person with a cold is contagious from the day before the symptoms come on, until up to seven days after. If it's the flu, make that fourteen days. At this point, it's only a cold. I started…

1.) People who continue to push after I've said no are not my friends. They may think they are, but they aren't. 2.) Logging and measuring everything is a good idea. 3.) Don't skip meals. That eliminates the "I haven't eaten all day" excuse for a later binge. 4.) It's not about the number on the scale. It's about my health.

Like the old song says, you *can't* please everyone, so you've got to please yourself. We're all on different schedules and different diets here. So we all pretty much shop and cook for ourselves. That works in a household that's all adults, but it's going to be a problem if you have children living there.

Because he needed more supervision than my children did.

That's what I was going to come in to say. But it's been said, so I'll just simply agree with it. Small weight fluctuations may not be actual fat gain/loss.

I don't know how to embed videos. This isn't working. Anyway, I hadn't heard this song in decades, so once I heard it again I couldn't get it unstuck. Not that I mind. I'm a John Denver fan. https://youtube.com/embed/5iPI_ZqlFWU
