The first time I lost weight I had a number in mind because losing 100lb got me just into my healthy weight range and it made sense. 16 years later I started losing again. I didn't need to lose as much this time to get to that same weight, and when I did I didn't stop losing. I never really had a lighter weight in mind and…

3 hilly hours outside today, 16mph. Included 2 hills I usually try to avoid, neither of which were anywhere near as bad as I remember them being. Less weight helps!

Turbo trainer for me today. 3x20 at FTP while watching La Course and cheering Lizzie deignan on (she's local to me and I know her parents). Outside tomorrow.

@sijomial yes! From about 2.55 this time last year to 3.55 now. I've only actually gained 12w, most of the change has been on the kg side of the equation 😉 although now I'm eating at maintenance I'm meant to be moving to more of a power build phase.

My OH is tiny. He sometimes struggles to get men's sports kit small enough to fit him so ends up buying womens. In much smaller sizes than I ever wore. Not any more. I tried a couple of his waterproof jackets on earlier and they both fit me. I'm still 10kg heavier (but also taller) than he is, but I can now steal some of…

At the moment it's only time trialling rather than bunch racing but I prefer TTs anyway.

I've been fairly low volume (for me) recently. A few turbo sessions, weekly racing and a weekend away last weekend where the weather was a bit rubbish so I didn't ride as much as I'd have liked to. But I have a photo for you - the one on the left popped up on my Facebook memories from this time last year so I wore the same…

I was going to say I'd had a quiet week, but not that quiet ;) A few zwift sessions and a time trial on Thursday. Slower than the last 2 weeks but still decent. Then just over 3 hours (87km) today. I avoided the rain for the first 2 hours but not the last one. I'd spent yesterday afternoon cleaning my bike and putting new…

I turned up to sign on for a bike race with a helmet and visor which cover my face/hair. I spoke to a clubmate as I was signing on. My OH turned up and the clubmate asked him if I was riding - he'd completely failed to realise who I was when we were speaking a couple of minutes earlier.

That you end up with a disconnect between the size you think you are and the size you actually are. Due to covid I've been buying clothes online (although shops are open the changing rooms aren't so I wouldn't be able to try them on even if I went to the shops). I've been struggling to believe what the sizing charts tell…

For me, even a tracker isn't necessarily the answer - I use one but I'm still finding that I'm dropping weight while eating pretty close to what it's telling me to eat.

I have been working from home since March and have only just (this weekend) sorted myself out with a desk and monitor rather than using my laptop on the kitchen table. Part of it was not knowing how long it was going to last, and part of it was not feeling too bad. But then I started racing time trials again which puts a…

I'm struggling with this a bit too. I adjusted my calories to maintenance level a month or so back, maybe longer, but my loss doesn't really seem to have slowed down at all. I'm planning to play around with the numbers a bit so no answers yet but I wanted to let you know you're not alone!

About 90km for me today, fairly flat for a change.
-
I had a turbo session to do on a sunny day so I took it out into the garden!

I bought this online and realised when it arrived that if anything it's a bit on the loose side...

Lost about 10kg. I actually got to my original goal weight around the start of lockdown - that was at the very top of a healthy BMI. I wasn't sure whether that would be the best weight for me but wanted to see how I felt when I got there. It turns out that several months of not eating out and exercising consistently (I'm a…

Racing again last night. Got my 12.5 mile pb down to 32.19. only one more race on that course this year though.
-
Goals for August - get some racing in while I can! The season ends in September anyway, and we're a bit too close to areas with tighter restrictions for comfort at the moment. Also hopefully a long weekend away somewhere hilly. Yesterday was a turbo day (2 hours on Zwift) but today I got out for 120km. Although my oh is a…

I race time trials on my bike. We have a regular weekly club race and over the last 5 years I've raced it 35 times. This week was my first race of the year due to covid, and I got an all time PB by 90 seconds which is huge, mainly due to weight loss and consistent training.
-
I raced (time trial) tonight! 90 second all time PB on a 12.5 mile/20km course.
-
Zwift for me today, but the weather outside wasn't particularly tempting!
-
Just over an hour to spin my legs out on home roads. Much flatter than last week!
-
102km today before heading home from our holiday. The flattest ride we did all week which made a change!
-
Rode to the highest pub in England today in brutal weather. Less than 60km but 1400m of climbing :o
-
111km (I'm on holiday this week). More hills, more epic scenery. Even a bit of sunshine!
-
Another 80km, so many hills...
-
80km in the dales including two savage climbs (fleet moss and park rash). Surprised myself by getting a Strava top 10 on fleet moss :o There's a UK book of the 100 best cycling climbs in the country and they both get 9/10 ratings in there, I'd never dared try either of them before!
-
I did my first time trial of the season tonight. Absolutely flying after all the training/weight loss since I last raced last year. 14 hilly miles in just under 45 minutes.
-
135km including a decent chunk of the women's road race route from last year's world championships. The climb where it all kicked off is brutal - I've never done it before and my legs now hate me... Rest day tomorrow 🙂
