Chicken Cacciatore is one of my favorite chicken dishes. Not only is the chicken low cal and carb, the other ingredients can be as healthy as you want. Diced tomatoes is a primary ingredient but bell peppers and other veggies can be added to a basic recipe. YUM!🤤

OK, how does one pea? <insert mental image of little green balls cascading into the toilet> 🤣

As a matter of fact, yes, I do stay home if I am sick. Did the same during my 45 year working life, too - was sick twice in all that time. I know that's not a choice for most folks, but, when sick, one should NOT go to public places unless absolutely necessary - for medications fits, going to the gym (or McDonald's, town…

If eliminating unnatural sugar, yet still want sweets, natural sugars will have to be substituted. Cane/beet sugar are the most popular in homes, followed by honey. Food processors use other kinds of natural sugars to make their foods taste better - corny syrup is one that is used widely, but there are others. Not really…

I have to be motivated. And ready to do it. Smoking, losing weight, watching nutrients, and changing. I quit smoking 20 years ago. Couldn't have done it if I hadn't been motivated and ready to do it. A recent diagnosis of diabetes scared the bejesus out of me (motivation) and I'm ready to do something besides take pills…

Give your Dr. a call or email and ask her/him. They know - or should know - your body better than any of us. Even if any of us are MD's and give you medical advice here, could easily make things worse if you follow it. Call your Doc.

My cardiologist says an egg/day is just fine. He tends to agree with the studies that conclude that dietary cholesterol has little, if any, effect on blood cholesterol levels.

I'm not a scientist - rocket or otherwise - but if the goal of exercising is to lose weight, more is better. But it has to be done in a SAFE manner. Some folks can handle a lot of cardio on top of other exercises. Some can't. You have to know your own limits and don't push them too far at any given time.

Why must everyone who enters a sauna do so to meditate? Or stare blankly at an electronic screen? What's wrong with just sweating? If others in the sauna aren't bothering you, why so worried about what they do or how they do it? Seems some people are just looking for something to gripe about.

I think fasting, intermittent or otherwise , like any diet fad, fails to address the root of weight problems - lifestyle. Eat less, eat better, move more.

What did they do after eating? Resting calorie burn? Too many unaddressed variables to say why and that render the study pretty much useless.

As a newbie to Dungeons & Dragons I'm reading the D&D Players Handbook.

She wouldn't eat the last <cookie/serving/grape/whatever food is left that there is just enough for one>. Seriously - she would let it rot before she'd eat the last one. 🙁

Edible boxers. They make edible panties, so there has to be some edible boxers somewhere - right? 🤣

A cup of flour weighs 120 grams, but professional bakers don't measure by the cup because the way the flour is put into the cup will affect the weight. 120 grams of flour will always be 120 grams of flour whether sifted, shaken, packed, or pounded. Same for just about all other foods - mass/weight changes each time the…

Any fish is delicate and needs attention to keep it from drying out during cooking. That is why frying is such a popular method - the grease soaks in and not only adds it's own flavor to the fish, it keeps it from drying out even if overcooked. My favorite way to cook salmon is on the grill: * If the cook can monitor and…

Because I have to keep an eye on glucose and maintain a fairly constant level, I need that before bedtime snack. An apple with peanut butter keeps things going overnight.

Popping back in to share my research. I did not sign up for these, so my opinions are base solely on what the site says, not what it does. Six Sisters looks nice as well as helpful. Easy to sign up and easy to close an account - all online. Appears limited to a database of meals that are not filtered as to type or style…

Just a suggestion for those who already have equipment and are guessing at how noisy or quiet it is: Download a free sound meter app to your phone and use that to check actual sound levels.

Fasting, as other fad diets/techniques, are not long term solutions. Check with your doctor before attempting. I'll give myself as an example of what can go wrong. My blood sugar (glucose & A1C) has been high/pre-diabetic for more nearly 35 years. Six months ago I decided to get serious about loosing a large chunk of my 70…

My motivation is fear of a painful death. Seriously. I fight obesity, cardio-vascular disease, COPD, and T2 diabetes. I'm not interested in living forever, but I want the time I have left to be better than the time I had. I don't want to go due to shutdown of my heart, kidneys, pancreas, etc. When I go, I'd prefer it to be…

To lose weight calories out must be greater than calories in. But that is an over simplification Life style - sedentary, active, etc., metabolic rate - how efficiently the body uses energy, diet - what is eaten & how it is eaten, motivation, and other factors all help determine weight loss or gain. Don't try to eat the…
