  • I see. Thank you for your help. So...mfp has given me 1200 based on me asking to lose 2lbs a week. Ive attached a photo of my day so far. At the moment (1.30pm) fit bit has added a calorie adjustment of 681 calories. Ive reached almost 7000 steps. So i eat dinner at 6pm. Lets say the adjustment is 500 at that time. If i…
  • Just for the record i dont eat 1200, i eat around 1500. But the whole idea of me getting a fitbit was to maje sure my activity level was allowing for that level of calories a day.
  • What i dont get about this though is that everyone on mfp says not to aim for 2lbs a week. But people lose 2lb a week all the time and its considered safe. Safe rate 1-2lbs - pretty much everything ive ever read pr heard about weightloss says this apart from people on here. So whats wrong with aining for 2? I'm obese bmi,…
  • Ok. So ive told mfp in sedentary and want to lose 2lbs a week. Mfp gave me 1200 cals. Its 10.40am here and fitbit has added 368 calories for the adjustment. So now i have a total of almost 1600 calories. So i can now eat 1600 calories and still lose 2lbs? (Assuming every day is the same). What is concerning me is that i…
  • AF? Im sorry i dont understand still 🤔 so i cant ever safley eat over 1200?
  • Haha....aaah im confused 🤣
  • Thanks, so are you logging your excersise in mfp or is that 1103 coming from your fitbit?
  • I'm really sorry about my typing skills 😳 I'm over excited!
  • Thank you for the encouragement, i hope you're right! I might just not weigh for a couple of weeks...saves me the constant second guessing!
  • I was kidding when i said that ;) but yes i totally get its gonna be a long game, i still think going from 3000 cals a day to 1500 should of produced some kind of result 😔but im hoping as others have said its the transition and i just need to be more consisitent and wait. I hope anyway! Thank you x
  • Woops i thought it was open...it is now!
  • But im right at the start of my weight loss and im pretty overweight so i expected a bit of a drop at least. Could it be im eating too much fat? Im doing lower carbs (under 100) for medical reasons so my fst is higher but its all good fat - avo, nuts, olive oil, fish etc I guess the reason I'm so confused is because i was…
  • Oh really i had no idea it did that! Brilliant that will be really motivating i bet. So my calorie range will adjust according to how many steps im doing? Does that make it difficult to plan your calories in advance or does it work of a base range?
  • Thanks everyone :) I guess I'll just forget about it then, i guess its not a big deal. I like the idea of saving some cals for the weekend. That might ultimately be better then using a big chunk of my saturday calories so i can have a drink. Thanks as always for excellent advice 👍👍
  • To be honest if i was going to get a Chinese takeaway i probably wouldn't bother trying to log it. Its gonna be a large amount of calories, probably more then a days worth. I could probably order an oil free vegetable stirfry and boiled rice but then what is the point in ordering a chinese 🤣 I'd personally order what i…
  • Thanks so much this make sense to me :)
  • Thanks everyone! I found Leslie Sansone and it was perfect! I only got 30 mins through a 30 min workout but thats pretty good for me and i felt like i wasnt far off so im gonna keep at it and try to finish it:)
  • This makes a lot of sense thank you for taking the time to answer! Can i ask one more thing so i dont mess it up if i do syary logging the excersise...do i eat all those calories back? Are they accurate? What if the mfp calories is way off and i end up over?
  • Thank you this is interesting to read. I wouldn't necessarily say im trying to lose it fast exactly (although obviously an overnight transformation would be nice) but I am 5 years into trying to have a baby and my doctor has given my 9 months to lose the weight before he will give me.any more treatment. Dont worry I've…
  • Thank you so much for this. Such a lovely comment. You're right I can always play around and change it if its not right. I'll look into that dietician once im allowed out the house again! Thank you x
  • Ive also bought some dumbells in a moment of madness because i want nice arms 🤣 so im going to try to do a few excersises every day
  • Ah these look great thank you! Exactly what im after :) do you think these will still help with weight loss despite being quite gentle?
  • Thanks you are right in both comments! I need to just settle on a number and do it and see what happens. I am under a bit of pressure (from only myself) to get the weight off as i want another baby and the dr will not give treatment i need at my current weight. Ive set it to sedentary 1.5lbs a week at mfp gives me 1360. I…
  • Ok. So as a compromise ive set it to lose 1.5lbs per week, not very active (for now while in lockdown) and will endeavour to add in some excerisse to "earn" extra calories. Whats the best way to be accurate on this. Step counter? Dont we all burn different amount depending how hard we are working? I dont want to "eat back"…
  • Ok. Im not sure i can really say im lightly actvie then. No in not sat on couch all day but im not run off my feet either. We have a small hpuse its not much effort to go from one end to the other. Im doubg a bit of light hpusework and sitting on the floor or in garden with the kids. Its still sitting. If we wernt in…
  • Why does it make any difference if the activity is purposeful excersise or spread through the day? Surely its calories out either way?
  • Thank you to everyone who replied, really helpful! Ok i played around with the settings on mfp to see what i could change. I changed the goal to 1.5lbs a week and my activity to "lightly active". Mfp gave me 1680 cals. I feel this is likely more then i need so ive adjusted it to 1500 and i can see how i get on. But i still…
  • Mfp has also set me at 1200 though? When i signed up? I tey to hae as much veg and healthy fat as i can within the 1200 but the food is boring and i just hate it. Average day would be bfast - eggs and veggies. Lunch - salad with various veg and greens, some combination of tuna/eggs/cheese/olives/avocado. Dinner small peice…
