  • I have really been mindful of not eating a lot of sugar or sodium in my diet. I notice my skin is clearer, my gums happier, and my joints less achy. There is one day when I was off the chart, but otherwise under!๐Ÿ˜‚ Rebecca Whidbey Wa
  • Today's food etc: I had cubed up a potato, put in seasonings and baked it. Pretty much just oven fried potatoes, but hash browns like. I ate half of the potato.
  • Tomorrow husband is taking me to see the new (not so new), "Mission Impossible" movie at the base theater. Then afterwards I will have 1/2 of a hamburger. It will be interesting. Not sure I can even do that but I have the day logged already so we'll see. I will listen to myself. Rebecca Whidbey Wa
  • Thanks for the encouragement! Its been interesting not having the food noise, or the appetite. But I still try to get my protein in. I do love my plastic family veggie platter and vary the veggies I cut up in it. I have red bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes and will fill celery in it after I get done munching today. Itโ€ฆ
  • Baths and showers... I used to love a hot bath! When I was suffering with my gallbladder issues years ago, I would take multiple baths a night to relieve the abdomen pain. This was before the bath remodel, and when we had a different tub. It was deeper and I could lie in it almost completely submerged. Now? I draw a bathโ€ฆ
  • Furikake does have a fair amount of sodium but I do like the health benefits too. The Nori seaweed is rich in omega3, vitamins and minerals. Its important to use it sparingly. I always log it, and it fits into my sodium plans for the day. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ I flip flop with that seasoning and the "everything bagel" seasoning when I haveโ€ฆ
  • Annie, My salads can get way too complicated! I am learning less is more. I had bought "Valued Naturals" heavenly heart nuts in individual packets for snacks, but they are the right amount for a salad. Walnuts, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, almonds and cashews. Yummy. Rebecca Whidbey Wa
  • It was a new surprising flavor to combine a berry with bleu cheese! I liked it! Then the buttermilk dressing was nice with the crispy lettuce. Yes my sister is like 5'3" so I am amazed she likes those trucks. Of course her ego gets a boost when she backs into a tight space, (or out of one) and a guy rolls down his windowโ€ฆ
  • Heehee, I am no miss traveler๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. But I do like traveling with my sister. I make her belly laugh, so that makes me feel happy. I do silly things. But really I do like being a happy, content and home hermit.๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ As long as its no more than a week I'm good. Anything longer and I am antsy! Its nice that she asks me, and sun andโ€ฆ
  • The chai tea lattes are better than the coffee ones. I am still experimenting with different flavors of things. I had bought Fair Life chocolate shake which does pack 30 grams of protein, but Joko Molk' also has 30 grams, as well as Pure Protein complete shake. There's lots of options for someone that doesn't want to messโ€ฆ
  • ย Barbie in NW WA, I am with you feeling grateful! I dealt with the "lean years" with kids, making Kool aide and filling up empty water bottles with it for their school lunch drinks. They ate the big bags of cereals which they thought were special. Little did they know it was because they were cheaper than the boxes.๐Ÿ™ƒ Todayโ€ฆ
  • Yep there's really only one brand at the commissary so pickers can't be choosers. My youngest son bought a rice cooker when he was in Cuba when he was stationed there. He heard about furikake, so he ordered some thru Amazon. Actually it was a pack of about 6 containers worth! He finally realized all had Nori seaweed whichโ€ฆ
  • Chatted with my eldest sister like I said, but here's some cute photos of her Hansel wishing to get in on the video chat.๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’–. Love that cat. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’– Rebecca Whidbey Wa
  • This is my kind. Its good in sticky rice totally. I have used it when I make my Hawaiian musubi. Some have bits of dried shrimp, or egg, or have black sesame seeds. You can put it on pickled veggies too.๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ˜ Rebecca Whidbey Wa
  • Todays lunch is a nice berry and blue cheese salad with nuts and buttermilk dressing. Then a shake. Dinner is a couple of crab and lobster raviolis tossed in a nice sauce. I will melt butter add lemon juice, flour, milk and pepper and see what happens. Oh and sprinkle with some rugged aged smoky cheddar from Ford Farms inโ€ฆ
  • Its raining here all day today. We need it.๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Rebecca Whidbey Wa
  • I have furikake in the fridge now!๐Ÿ˜. I love it on ramen, in rice with tuna, kewpie mayo and wasabi.๐Ÿค—. I usually buy crab in the glass jars, not a fan of imitation crab. But right now crab is just to rich for me. I know the crab and lobster ravioli portion is 2.5 servings but I will probably put it more toward 4 servings.โ€ฆ
  • Well today is dose day! Eating fairly simple, veggies and cottage cheese for lunch, dinner is my leftover protein cheesy pasta, with 3 chicken nuggets. I had an 11 oz protein shake in the morning, and then other type but still 11 oz at dinnertime. Then of course my tea in the afternoon with a protein bar.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ I splurgedโ€ฆ
  • https://www.facebook.com/share/v/16ary8wcia/ here's a nice walk across Deception Pass bridge.๐Ÿ˜. Rebecca Whidbey Wa
  • OOh no!! I hope you get it fixed soon, or your temps go down a bit for you! Cooling thoughts to you!! Rebecca Widbey Wa
  • Michele, yep Pip has.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’–. Its on the race route she did. I think they do it "virtually" now right Pip? Rebecca Whidbey Wa
  • They taste like sweet, sticky candy to me! I have had Sunsweet amazin prunes in the individual packets every morning for a bit over a month now. They are the next thing I pick up after downing my vitamins. Nice habit, plus no constipation on Zepbound. I see its quite a thing in the forums.๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ™„ Rebecca Whidbey Wa
  • Carla, Sure! Come on by! There are two steep flights of steps leading down under the bridge you have to navigate, and our home has steep stairs up to a spare queen bed, so just be forewarned.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ You gotta be stairs savvy.๐Ÿ™ƒ Under the bridge are trails leading down to the water. They say like 2 miles so I have neverโ€ฆ
  • Very smart buying! My sister on her homestead is always buying bags she has sling on her shoulder to take into the house, up her front steps. I marvel at her stamina, yet she does have so many falls etc. She has a tough time letting go of habits. Then she has a huge truck she practically has to mountain climb to get into.โ€ฆ
  • I have cute firefighter stories too! Well during 2002-2012 we as a family attended our nudist resort and on some hot afternoons, down by the pool there would be that one person with heat exhaustion. Of course it was associated by them having a bit too much to drink. So 911 would be called. The cities surrounding the resortโ€ฆ
  • I need to buy some steel cut oats for my oat farls.๐Ÿ˜ So not making them today, maybe Friday. How long does buttermilk keep anyway? Today making some pinto bean an ham hock soup for husband. I am having cottage cheese, wild rice with quinoa and a shrinking of "everything bagel" sessoning.๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Rebecca Whidbey Wa
  • Good idea! I am going to make some oat farls for husband. Made with oatmeal and the buttermilk, leaving on counter overnight, then the next day you mix with flour and knead, making a circles and cutting into scone triangles. Scotsmen would take these in their knapsacks when traveling. I used to make them when we did ourโ€ฆ
  • OOh my what a deal! Glad everything worked out in the end though! My sister falls and her watch declares she's fallen and do they medical assistance. If she doesn't say no, I'm fine, a call would be sent. Also her kids get notifications of this.....she gets calls after the fact..."mom, what did ya do now"??? But really itsโ€ฆ
