Hi Kellee, glad you joined us. Check the group regularly because we have a good group of core members who are active every day....hoping to see you here often!

Hi Alan.....glad you joined us.....I find this group most meaningful when I go off the rails and need some support, instead of listening to my own brain. We all have our own "fat brains" that can takeover if we're not careful.

@FrecklePatch Lori, Glad you're part of this group! This is by far the most active group that I've found in MVP... Chris

Connie: This morning I snapped at her as my dog and I were leaving on our walk. I think it was the second cup of strong coffee that had my nerves on edge. I did apologize of course.

Great goals to have......I would like to watch you obtain them...

Hello everyone.....I have been looking for a binge support group....been in MFP for 7 weeks and have lost 17 lbs. but I'm still vulnerable to binge eating.
-
I am also looking for a binge support group....perhaps you and I could resurrect this group?

I joined MFP two months ago and am approaching the 20 lb loss milestone. Couldn't do it without the support that I find here...

I like lean meat, especially bison. It costs more, but is SO good. Every Saturday night we enjoy Buffalo fillets every Saturday night....it's a ritual. I also eat 3 eggs, every morning.

This group is a great idea, as we all deal with cravings at different times. It helps so much to be able to read what other people are going through, as I tend to isolate myself, binge eat, and then feel guilty.

When I started six weeks ago, my short-term goal was to get down to 250 from 269 by August 17, when I start teaching at the university again. At 252 I am 2 lbs away with 12 days to go...

I intend to do this, but after reading Lyle's book on flexible dieting, I shouldn't do it for another 6-10 weeks. I am in Category 3 as far as BMI.

He was a rescue dog so we don't know for sure....we think about 5 years old. He's a great dog; well behaved, good with other dogs and people, but very protective. We think he is beagle and terrier.

I take Darwin for an hour long walk through our neighborhood each morning. I don't know if that qualifies as a hike. Maybe next summer I will be in good enough shape to do that. Here is a picture of how he looks at me when it's time to go...

Got a call from my doctor that the 2 polyps that they removed during my colonoscopy were benign. I'm cancer free!

I hiked the New England portion of the Appalachian Trail by myself when I was 18. My parents thought it would be good for me before I headed to college in the fall (I was very rebellious at that age). I was in the best shape of my life, weighed 160 and could literally run up mountains without a pack on. I went for almost a…

@emmyjaykay I'm very sad to hear about your friend's dog passing. Any time we lose an animal it's difficult, but the fact that you were watching him must have been very difficult. I hope your friend is close enough to you to not blame you for this, I can't imagine he would. Take care and stay close!

@jodibeth5744 Thanks so much for those words of encouragement. It's ironic that after I posted my comments yesterday, I recorded 1.8 lbs lost when I checked in. So at the end of my 6th week I have a total loss of 17, or almost 3 lbs per week. I do feel lighter and the exercise is paying off for both me and my dog Darwin. I…

I am getting completely frustrated with my weight. I lost 15 lbs in the first 4 weeks, but now two weeks later, the scale hasn't budged...this in spite of big calorie deficits. My first thought this morning was "what's the use, screw this". But I did my long walk again and my resolve has returned. It helped that one of my…

I'm pleased to say that Darwin is now completely recovered from his back problem. I'm going to have to take him to dog parks for small dogs only in the future, but for now he's a happy boy!

@conniewilkins56 Connie: Hang in there...looking back at my own experience as a caretaker for my late wife, I often neglected my own health and wellbeing....but the effort you're putting into your own health is going to pay dividends in the future, as you continue to care for your husband. You are an inspiration to me!
