Welcome, glad to meet you. This is a great group with lots of discussion...

Darwin encountered a child reading a book, sitting on a bench by the bike path. He started growling and crouched down, like he was stalking. The only thing was that it was a statue!

Thank you, that makes a lot of sense. I'm not going measure more often than every other week....what do you think?

I guess the two of us are it for now. Gotta be some dog lover's out there!
-
Me too......I love good cheese....and I find it very hard to moderate. Especially part trays at social gatherings (remember those?).
-
Your dog sounds impetuous.....is she easy to train?

I have a beagle-terrier mix that was rescued from the Roswell city pound. Darwin is his name, because he is very adaptable

I seem to have always had some sort of sabotage trigger that will go off at times and usually I lose control....a bad day at the office, my wife is mad, or any stress can put me in that f--- it place, I'm hoping that being accountable to you guys as a support group will get me through.
-
@rockconner: That's a lot of weight.....congratulations!

I am a professor at Regis University, teaching accounting and finance. My goal is to lose 84 pounds total.

My beagle/chihuahua/rat terrier boy gets Hills Prescription kibble and Iams canned, mixed.

I've started doing my weekly weigh in on Monday but I do a second check on Friday going into the weekend, which I do not record....it just tells me the trend for the week and allows me to correct.

Thanks, that is useful. My % is 72% which is awful. I wonder if I can increase my height rather than worrying about my waist.
-
I agree.....I can take it or leave it.

My body tape was delivered yesterday, so first thing this morning I decided to take some measurements. Keeping in mind that I am at 269 lbs and 5'11'' tall, these were my measurements Waist: 54.5 inches Chest: 46.5 inches Neck: 17 inches I was shocked by my waist amount but it explains why even my 48 " pants don't work…

Walk at least 50 minutes with my dog. Take my dog to the dog park. Log all my food as I plan the rest of the day. Fill out my ballot to vote in the primary election. Grade papers from my students Finish out day 7 of week 1 with a bang!

My long term goal is 185. I was at that weight in my mid-thirties, and with a large body frame and lots of weight lifting I carried that weight well. Frankly, just getting down to 230 would give me a huge "new" wardrobe of clothes I've been hanging on to forever for when I finally lost the weight.

NovusDies: I laughed my head off when I read what you wrote about making your wife mad all day long ---- but it accurately shows just how crazy the thinking is. Especially when someone has had prior success in losing weight --- I've done it three times earlier in my life. The difference now is the clock is ticking and it's…

This discussion is about exactly the way my mind has worked over the years when it comes to overeating. In my case, most days turned into binge eating episodes because I was going to start fresh tomorrow and it was going to be different----therefore, I need to get it out of my system tonight. When I found myself at the end…

I agree.....we bros are in short supply.

As do I....so let's do it together.
-
I joined again this morning because I am finally sick enough of the health problems that are caused by being this heavy and realizing that I am going to have a miserable life in old age if I don't do something.
-
I just joined and am looking to lose 20 lbs by Aug 17. Not sure if that is realistic...let's support each other.
-
Looks like we're in the same boat....let's start paddling together. I'm fed up too.
-
Congratulations on your weight loss.....one day at a time.
-
I'm starting over as well....welcome!
-
Welcome, Holly! I'm new here as well, as of this morning....good luck to you and let's support each other...
-
Thanks....My big crutch is wine in the evening before dinner. I can't believe the calories! I used to just ignore recording it (they're "empty" calories)...Really??
