Eat whatever you want. If you've hit your major nutrition goals, just worry about getting the calories in there.

People think I'm taller now, too. I suspect it has to do with visual illusion. Squares APPEAR shorter than rectangles or lines. Also honestly my posture is much better because I'm not dragging around an extra 60ish pounds. And stand up more.

Moving within a healthy BMI you have about four options: 1-) Get really precise with weighing, tracking, and making sure that your 'cheat meal' doesn't take out your deficit. 2-) Do a more aggressive deficit for a week followed by a week of eating your maintenance calories. Either of these can be combined with increased…

Y'know I try really hard to be sensitive to other people and see how things that could be hurtful to others, even if they don't bother me. ...but this whole thing reads a lot to me like 'Calories exist and being reminded of that is upsetting'. In which case even I have to say "sounds like a personal problem". As in: Sounds…

9-30: 130ish 10-12: 127.3 10-24: 126.4 I didn't expect that drop, but ok.

Make your own plan. My exercise 'plan' is mostly hiking, trail running, horseback riding, dog sports, paddleboarding and swimming with some resistance stuff occasionally because it's good for me.

My oikos pro greek yogurt (25 grams) + chocolate whey powder (30 grams) + 8 ounces of 2% milk (8 grams) + 8 ounces of almond milk (like... 1 or two) comes out to 63 grams of protein for 400 calories - and more than 1/2 my daily protein goal. My usual standard is 'anything that has 10% as many grams of protein as calories…

I lost 60 lbs. I didn't see some people for close to a year. So it was pretty abrupt and shocking. That was okay to remark on. But there are 2 or 3 people who saw me several times and we're now on time 5 or 6 of me being 'complimented' on my weight loss. STOP TALKING ABOUT MY BODY IT MAKES ME FEEL ICKY.

And as an aside when I was obese and started to track oil, butter, mayo, cream (coffee), ranch dressing, etc? THERE WERE DAYS I ADDED A THOUSAND CALORIES just in condiments. So seriously - watch that.

That isn't going to be more than you take in if you do accurate (even remotely) tracking of your food and you've not chosen to high an activity level. There's a lot of leeway for being 'wrong' but a 2 pound a week of loss is a 1000 calorie deficit PER DAY. That, in turn, means to maintain your current weight you're eating…

a piece of panfried fish and french fries. It was left over from dinner last night. Also yummy.

I am a 'I get hungry when I eat' person - sometimes. Sometimes I'm not. However one thing not eating for bed DOES do for me is make sure my morning weight is my low weight. I don't actually care about that, but it definitely is a consideration when interpreting scale fluctuations. (Ie: "I lose more weight if I don't eat at…

Yeaaah, I got about 3 hours of sleep last night. I'm forcing myself to stay awake to an hour that means I won't wake up in the middle of the night, but my desire to snack (ie: eat continuously) today is HIGH. Not a 'underage before' thing but eating both provides a quick shot of energy and some sensory input that keeps me…

Nonsense. Your body burns fat around the clock if you're in a calorie deficit. Doesn't matter when you eat those calories or what they came from when it comes to weight loss. That said it does matter when it comes to how you feel and psychological factors -ie some people have strong night snacking habits and find it easier…

I'm still here. I'd update but my weight is hovering around that 127 and I'm very much still in the land of 'how much difference in two pounds going to make, Becky' so honestly not trying very hard. My average calorie intake is at a slight deficit most days, but that kind of deficit's going to take a while to reflect on…

This is fair. My mom's grocery bill went up and the nutritional content went down when she had fewer people to feed on the same budget. Ie: The prepackaged tv dinners, snack cakes, and baked goods and snacks went from 'we get some of this once in a while' to buying a lot of it all the time. The real thing I think is,…

Also, as I mentioned in a fit of frustration at the conflation of two - or more - issues here: You need a stove of some variety, utensils and somewhere to keep them, electricity or gas, and somewhere to keep leftovers if you're making something like rice and beans. Also TIME to do that cooking, so I hope you're not working…

Mostly this. I can't be philosophical with it because my lived experience is effectively this. Truthfully my grocery bill going up a lot when I started eating healthier/better was unrelated to weight-loss. .I was obese eating perfectly healthy food. The substantial change in the bill and switch to healthier came when I…

Y'all are all missing that 'affordable' varies. To a large degree. I have not seen chicken for less than 2.00 a pound - and that's for chicken leg quarters wibh bone and skin so you're paying per pound for inedible parts - in years. Tuna is only a dollar a can. That's a dollar for 5 ounces, so about 3 per pound. It just.…

A hamburger from McDonald's is a dollar. It's ready to eat. It's not a lot but it requires no time, no prep, and a dollar. A pound of ground beef is 6.00. That needs cooked and other ingredients added to it. And you can't buy just enough for now. You can't buy 1/4 lb of beef, one hamburger bun. I think people who say 'this…

My grocery bill more than doubled. The reason for that is pretty simple - I was relying on a lot of really inexpensive, high calorie, food like rice, pasta, and potatoes to 'stretch' the more expensive meat/fruit/veg and a lot of relatively inexpensive margarine and cheese to make it taste better. Yeah, yeah my grocery…

I know what I'm eating for lunch, now!

also tbf at this juncture I have a harder time getting enough calories than I do with staying under my calorie limit. I weigh 127 lbs. I have, absolute max, 2 pounds I can afford to lose. A couple of hundred calories in a candy bar is a good thing. Which sounds like some kind of humble-brag but isn't. 200 easy enjoyable…

Yep, this is me too. I have a very healthy diet most of the time and feel good for it, but I am not going to pretend I don't also enjoy some ice cream, or a candy bar. For me the healthiest thing is balance - in everything - and for me that does not mean 100% healthy and 100% denial all the time. I am not eating my…

I have a couple of cashmere sweaters too, from ebay and about 20.00. Glorious.

We have a sort of reverse of this situation. Meaning I'm at goal and my husband is still 40 pounds from his. I don't actually have higher calorie needs, though - he does, even in loss. the problem we have here is that HIS emotions are all weirdly out of whack and he feels guilty about eating if I'm not, or eating more than…

There's something to be said for eating a lot of protein and some of that has to do with, yeah, activity and age as above. Incidentally, a lot of my activity is short duration but high intensity (ie: run through the woods like I'm being chased by a bear but only for maybe 10 minutes, max), and the rest is low intensity,…

If this is a VLCD and diet/eating change as prep to weightloss surgery this makes sense. But that's the ONLY way it makes sense.

I see the 'I'm just not hungry' thing come up a lot in the forums, and I wanted to address it here where there's some chance it might help OP - or someone reading. It is intuitively sensible to think that if you're massive undereating you will be ravenous. There are two problems with this, when subjected to actual…

I set my weight based on my first early morning weigh in on a day when I'm not near my period, then just eat roughly that. Sometimes I'm a bit over, sometimes I'm a bit under. My weight fluctuates about 2-3 pounds most days and within that range, but it all ultimately balances out to 'I weigh more or less 127 pounds (or…
