For what it's worth, while I will always encourage people to find an instructor in any activity- Paddleboard is a good workout and physically demanding, but those boards are WAY more stable than they appear to be. Standing up takes some learning about where the center of the board is, and some work at not looking down, but…

Find something fun or a way to make it fun. When I walk or jog I either do so in the woods with a dog, or I listen to an audio or watch a tv show (if treadmill or indoors) I horseback ride. I paddleboard. I play disc golf (which is walking around). I swim. I do dog agility Look at your calories and macros too, to see if…

the sagging skin on my body isn't a huge issue for me because it's in places hidden by most clothes. The wrinkly, sagging skin where my double chin used to be, though. I kinda hate that part.

Net means 'calories available for you to use'. If you exercise you have used some and your net will be 'number left after you burned some'. If you haven't done exercise then it's just the number you ate.

I actually have some kids clothes. T-shirts, mostly, or gloves (that's not new, always had little hands), but I also have a pair of girl's/children's shorts. they're fine but it's also obnoxious because kid's sizing seems pretty consistent. And there's no reason adult's clothing can't be, too!

Yeah, I have a pair of vintage jeans from 1993 or something. They're a size 10 long. I have a size 4 that is, if stacked on top of them, bigger in everything but length.
-
Also, globally, sizes have changed. I wear a modern 4-6 now...and a 1990s 8-10.

I. I think if you are someone who can equate how you used to eat with obsessive sexual fantasies you are an outlier in some regard and would benefit from some psychological, professional, assistance regarding intrusive thoughts. Some people have those. Not everyone does. For me this is a thread of 'I learned things'.

Also what waleson85 up there said - when I am absolutely going to go over and it's things I REALLY want? I'm just eating it. I might shove it into my diary as 'I don't know 10000 calories' re: quick add... I just eat. That happens once a year, maybe twice, but those times are almost always situations like thanksgiving…

I incooperated diet breaks really early where I'd eat at maintenance as part of a strategy. I also always use a weekly calorie goal instead of fussing at daily ones. And I have times/periods/events where I know my intake is going to be high for a meal or so (thanksgiving at my mom's, birthday cake, whatever) where I just…

Yeah, my initial goal was 'not overweight'. It came down more after that. Actually my initial goal was 'stop gaining'. then 'out of obese' then 'not overweight' - which would have been 149. My actual weight where I actually maintain is about 125-132. Most of the HEALTH benefit happened in getting into a normal BMI range…

My big problem was not in the bulk of my food but what I added to my food - and missing protein. TYPICAL DAY, THEN? Breakfast: Coffee with 1/4 cup of cream and 2 sugars, plus 2 slices of toast with butter. Lunch: 2 turkey sandwiches - couple of tbs of mayo + 2 ounces of turkey (between both...) some lettuce and tomato. Or…

So. I what I eat now is only 200 calories lower than what I ate when I was obese. My calorie deficit at points of loss was pretty high, and at times losing I was certainly eating less than I am now. But while I was pretty active before I lost, I got MORE active when I got thinner and it was more fun and I had more energy.…

I do dog sports. I also train professionally as a second job. So there's a lot of walking, hiking, disc, and agility in my life. I also horseback ride and paddleboard. My only purposeful exercise is slowish jogging when my ankle doesn't hate me and some resistance stuff. Otherwise it's 'play outside'.

I think some of it's that it's perception from the population being largely overweight, but I also think it's that we only see the fat in the most obvious places on ourselves. Even at obese (barely) I could not quite grasp how much I had to lose. I always carried most of my weight VISUALLY in my torso - breasts, back,…

Well. Shivering burns calories. That's not what anyone means though and most people dont' choose to stay long in any environment where they start shivering.

...I hadn't pinged that they're a fat source. Yeah that and the salt is likely why they make the salad a thing I can eat and enjoy without dressing. THANK YOU!
-
I horseback ride a lot more now. it's easier on me AND the horses. I also took up paddleboarding. Things just got more fun when I weighed less and was more confident.

I. I should have read your username, huh? Oops!

That's why we don't recommend eating 1200 calories from the start. Once that happens your option is basically to move more, or to take a diet break, let your body adapt, accept a small gain and start over with more calories and a smaller deficit. If your weight is already so low that your maintenance calories won't allow…
-
500 calories is a safe deficit UNLESS it takes you past 1200 calories. If you're trying to eat under 1000 MFP will absolutely tell you about it. As you get close to goal weight your deficit will either need to decrease or you will need to up your activity.

Stop eating low calorie, high volume foods and add some higher calorie/lower volume things like nuts, nut butters, and avocado in there.
-
Yeah, this. Do what works. I got closer to goal and started measuring/counting more of my veg when it's substantial but I don't use a scale (horror of horrors here) to weigh food, I don't count small amounts of veg. And it was never an issue. I was FULLY PREPARED to have to either get more precise or 'settle' for a higher…

Weirdly if I add black olives I can do without dressing. I mostly don't want to though so I use some light or homemade ranch (greek yogurt + seasoning packet) or, if spinach, a raspberry vingar.
-
Yes, because I'm in maintenance and if I don't eat more on a heavy activity day I will gnaw off my arm and possibly someone else's arm from pure hangry. I had a bigger buffer between 'hungry' and 'I'm going to eat a whole cow and/or bite your head off RIGHT NAO" when I was heavier. The closer to goal I got the more narrow…

She's just teasing you about your preference for dry salad.

I'm 5'5", weigh 126-ish, and am lightly active most of the time. I eat roughly 2000 calories (average) a day to maintain. The only macro I care about is protein and that's for satiety and muscle retention. Fat and carbs fall where they will.

My youngest dog is a chihuahua, lab, beagle, doxie, australian cattle dog, australian shepherd cross per DNA testing. She's wild. Hunt it, herd it, dig it out, retrieve it - wild. But little.
-
5'5", 44 Nov Goal - 125-130 - Look Thanksgiving is happening. My standards of thanksgiving this year - and last year when still in loss - was 'eat the food'. If I come out of the month still in goal range, I'm good. I think odds of me gaining several pounds of fat are from one day are incredibly low, but I'm also setting…

Nooope. I am absolutely positive that I had days where the cream in my coffee, butter on toast and vegetables, mayo on my sandwich, and ranch on my salad added up to 1K of calories. My diet? Otherwise perfectly reasonable. Freaking condiments. And it's weird now because I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOw I KNEW those things were 100…
