Hi all. @shanaber I hope Hobbes is healing up and getting all the attention @CMorning99 I dont envy you. You are dealing with a lot, try to carve out some "me" time. Dh and I took Kevin to play with his cousins 10 week old new puppy yesterday. Their adult dog is an intact male, so we passed. They think he'd be aggressive…

@shanaber love the hair! Glad Hobbes did well and is resting, really glad it was just allergies! I didn’t take Kevin to the park. I didn’t want to risk him getting any doggie viruses. He’s still going in the house. He’s a sneaky little guy. I think I need to take him to the bathroom with me. Least we have formed stools and…

How ya doin’ Hobbes? @Avidkeo ugh, dh had a rental and it was trashed. I think we spent 15,000 fixing it. That included a new roof and floors. The management company didn’t care who lived there. They didn’t pay for trash service and just burned everything in the backyard. It was a mess. Maybe your mum could get a tent and…

@shanaber thinking of you and Hobbes today & hoping for any news that's not terrible. I've been on a quest for acceptable chewy's for the dogs. I noticed they like the dried watermelon and pumpkin rinds they find in the yard. So I've set Dh on the task of collecting a few. I'll bake and dehydrate them. Kevin's poop is…

@CMorning99 Ugh perhaps the guy that left the main open will be held responsible for the bill, at the very least he should split it with you. Although, it is his fault. @shanaber I hope Hobbes is okay, poor guy. how did agility go? @Avidkeo WOW! an exhibit! are you gonna share some his work with us? When that article gets…

Thanks for the info @shanaber I'll look in the book. I put him in Maggie's harness and got him a doggie seatbelt. I'll get him a nice padded one for car rides. Eric and I took him to petco today. The new command is "shopping". He was sceptical at first but loved the free treats and everyone petting him. I had a ~10 year…

Thanks. I have had luck with a training collar, the pinching one. The woman we got him from suggested a harness and I didnt think about them pulling with the harness. Perhaps the collar is fine for the backyard until we need the training collar.

yay! hi @ Avidkeo. What's important is that you do what you need too! I understand the break. puppy question I want him leash trained. He's closing in on 12 weeks. Can I put a harness on him and start walking him around the yard? Perhaps this will help him not poop on the porch. Which is no longer runny. I took Jack to the…

OMG! That's hilarious. I'm gonna have to find it. puppy naps

We've kept him in the crate at night. Dh gets him out once about 3am to go and he is put back. He likes the crate fine. I think the problem is that when dh is watching, uh herm, "watching" him, he's not. Thus poop under the table on a rug. I'm training dh in the process of training the pup and acclimating the cats. Cori is…

Ok… what is stinky dick? I google it and it’s not a dog treat 😇☺️ How about duck feet? *barf a little.

Thanks for the poop suggestions. I gave him a wormer this morning. Last night he ate some yogurt. I have probiotics I give the cats and can give him that. I have canned pumpkin, perhaps I can mix it with this yogurt treat? His poop today is somewhat better. His stools are formed, but then he goes again shortly after and it…

I hate that people do that. Years ago I kept seeing dead kittens along the road all about the same age. It took me a bit to understand what happened. I can't imagine being that person. He's a little love bug. Fine in the crate at night, Dh got him out 2-3 times to let him go pee.

I've been wondering where @Avidkeo was too, er how she is doing. oops... its a rant. We've been working on putting up a fence. ugh. I'm gimpy and dh is the one armed man. New puppy got tuckered out playing with jack & mags, yay! Dh has named him Sebastian, Bash for short. I'm not keen, but told him to name him. I wanna…

Pup He’s the sweetest thing. 11 weeks and 2 days, 13.5 pounds. Not boerboel or mastador weight. Hmmm. More like lab weight. I’m fine with him being a normal size pup. I just don’t want Dh to be disappointed. He has a healthy appetite. So, y’all think just lab mix? Those ears seem a little long for lab, and maybe he’s just…

I ordered the book. Dh is usually pretty good at keeping with the do’s and donts. But sometimes he is dismissive. Dh is about to go back for surgery then it’s doggie pick up. I’m nervous about bear being traumatized. But Cori is such a whiny bug, bear may love to have a dog who plays rougher.

I think this dog isn’t going to give us any personal space. The foster describes them as Velcro dogs. That’s fine really. I have cats that don’t mind being aloof. Cori is fine. Vet thinks it was a bee, scorpion, etc. dh is convinced it was a one fanged snake because I gave them toy snakes. Could be a snake though. He’s…

Omg @rheddmobile that is so cute! I’m glad mama is okay. Love those trouble brothers!

I am not familiar with the breed's either. DH's cousin that just moved back has a 100lb pit-english bull dog thing and dh was impressed with it, tried to sell me on a pit. uh, no. Im a shepherd/hound dog lover. I do love the wolfhounds, deerhound and wanted a staghound so bad... or a small 10-15 pound house dog. I think dh…

Dh made a doggie decision… The boerboel mastiff/Chesapeake bay retriever puppy. Pick him up Wednesday https://adoptapet.com/pet/32661237-frisco-texas-mastiff

Thanks for that @rheddmobile !!!
-
Ya, That's what I told him haha! He is looking at a boerboel mastiff he wants. I think I started something. ☺️
-
@shanaber thanks for that info. These 2 are suppose to be fine with chickens, but they don’t know about cats. Ima pass on the dobies. Dh was looking at vizslas, but I told him I really don’t need a dog, but we could go to the pound if he wanted to look.

I asked about getting the booster for the covid vaccination and was told it wasn't being given with the Jensen (Johnson & Johnson). I'm fine with not needing it but curious about the protection offered or if I'll just need to get a moderna or Pfizer one. Dh had his booster and was not phased, I think it was Moderna. dogs I…

Thanks @ shanaber. I heard that dogs were not meant to be strict carnivores like cats, I am sure he'll love the coconut oil and or fish oil. Dh buys them the cheap kibble and bits. I had them on Iams before he came into the picture. any suggestions with quality dog food? As it gets colder, I give them canned and the…

I think this weather and allergies are killing me. Constant headaches, I gave into pseudoephedrine today. Food. I am doing better. With dh having been gone for a week, I realised that I rely on him to bring comfort food in the evening, bbq, ice cream, etc. So I am consciously trying to change that and stop asking for it…

My husband uses an online service fo this meds and official diagnosis. I can ask him which one if you want to do the online route. I am sure an LPC can refer you to a prescriber. That's they way they do it here. A nurse practitioner can also prescribe with the mental health endorsement. best of luck!

The inattentive type of what? I missed something again... I looked back but didn't find it.

@shanaber yes I will ask and look for signs of hip dysplasia. We had a German Shepherd mix he was the best dog ever. I am curious about her background. This place is a shelter and is asking 350 for her adoption fee. Which is fine by me. But she is obviously a pure breed, so... why is she there? They are requiring some one…
