Happy Thursday - this week seems to be flying by! I have not been feeling so well; I think it's a bit of heatstroke. Car was in the garage yesterday and it's 10-15 minutes to walk each way, then I went for a 1hr30ish walk instead of a run as it was too hot. I went to bed just after 9pm, managed a couple of hours of sleep…

I don't know how I've done it, but I've hit it bang on several times without trying. Always a good day - like when the shopping comes exactly to a round number with nothing after the decimal lol.

@ashleycarole86 I agree about the morning walk being a lovely start to the day, and great in summer as it's the coolest time of day. Shame I tend to go to bed too late to want to get up! I did get a walk in this morning as I dropped the car off at the garage. It'll need to go back in next week as there's a delay on tyres,…

Happy Tuesday Went running with my friend last night - picked a route on trails and ended up turning back as there were too many nettles/brambles and we had bare legs! We stayed off road for the most part and went up over the fields instead which is a fairly sizeable hill. Last time we ran this route we didn't run all the…

Sometimes I don't think it necessarily matters what we do, and that a change is what's needed. I came from WW to MFP and (currently) have no plans to go back to WW, however I'm taking everything I learned from them and applying it here, instead, so even if I didn't get the results I wanted long term, it wasn't a waste.

PW: 79.8 CW: 80.5 Suffering from water retention after some salty food this weekend! I hadn't planned on bacon sandwiches yesterday; came downstairs and OH was already cooking them, but they were really nice. It was very hot as well, so I don't think I drank enough which is something I'll work on this week. My…

Getting unstuck... Usually going for a decent walk helps me; it gets me out of the environment I've been in (where the snacks are), is exercise and fresh air/nature can fix a lot.

Happy Friday all We had the best time away, and I absolutely loved the blacksmithing. I could've happily gone back for another round today! It's good to be home admittedly, but it was so much fun and I was the calmest I had felt in a long time. You had to really concentrate and be present, but it was very methodical and…

Sorry I've been a bit quiet - I hope everyone is OK. My stress levels have been high enough that Garmin has prompted me to do a breathwork exercise twice in 5 days. Eeek. Friday's was largely brought on by traffic (a 20 minute journey taking an hour) but I was taking Kirk to the vet about blood in his urine, and today I…

I love this. It's so obvious, and yet I'd never thought of it before.

@Terytha that's great news! Thanks for all the good wishes for Kirk. He is home, and currently sleeping next to me on the desk. The surgery went well in so much as he's fine, but they couldn't find the object on the ultrasound - and they did a scan right before operating as well. They scanned again afterwards and nothing,…

As others have said, it's worth seeing a medical professional. I developed tendonitis in both knees when running; a session with my physio determined that I currently lack ankle mobility and therefore was putting more through my knees. I also need to work on my lower abdominal strength/activation and t-spine mobility. He…

@conleywoods I'm jealous of your animal encounters! I love nature/wildlife. Today is a high risk day for my plan. Kirk is in surgery right now - I can phone in just over 3 hours to find out how it went and if he can come home today. I know he had the surgery last year and it went well, and we have an excellent vet, but I…

I second the Fat2Fit teams on here. When I started in January I'd take part in the weekly challenges and check in every day, but I've cut my tech time a bit so I check in more like 3-4 times a week now (though I still log daily). My plan feels sustainable because I'm making small changes and stacking them, rather than…

There are two things with going premium that I think could be beneficial to me: 1) no ads would speed up the app/website loading and stop me clicking on the wrong thing when it jumps 2) the option to not adjust my calorie goal for exercise calories may help me break the habit of eating them I've concluded that so far,…

I am amazed that the gym in the first video permitted him to stack weights like that. He spent so long fannying around that they could easily have put a stop to it.

Killing my sex life because I feel too self conscious Running out of storage space because I have my fat clothes, and my slim clothes and all the in-between clothes Being painfully slow when running, and knowing that if I just lost the extra weight, it'd be a whole lot easier for me Ordering a longer strap for my handbag…

Happy Tuesday all! Veggies... I'm also in the chuck-em-in-a-pan-add-stuff camp; not very helpful I know. I'm looking forward to doing skewers on the BBQ over summer. Cutting back... my '1-a-day" rule went out of the window in May. This is where I try to limit the portions I have of treats and snacks - e.g. one portion of…

PW: 80.8 CW: 80.4 @jugar I'm Katie from the UK near Nottingham (Robin Hood territory!). I live with my husband and two cats. I gained weight 10-12 years ago due to lifestyle changes, and came to MFP in January this year after trying unsuccessfully to lose it with WW. @gak71 there's no way I'm cutting out diet soft drinks…

Me too :D My arm is fine at the moment - I'm aware I got jabbed but it's not uncomfortable. I did feel the injection but it wasn't painful; deliberately looked away and the nurse did it quickly. I suspect the sore arm/head will kick in later; probably just in time for finishing work. I hope not though as I want to get a…

Went for a run this evening and once we got well over 6k, with a bit to go but still feeling comfortable, I started thinking about extending it to 10k. My friend needed to finish so I did the last 2.5km on my own, knocking over 8 minutes off my previous (one and only) 10k time to come in at 1hr19m30s. Dead chuffed with…

PW: 81.1 CW: 80.8 I've broken the 81kg barrier... so close to getting a new starting number. :# @ellz_runs you could get a password manager (I use LastPass, but there are others) which allows you to remember just one master password, then it securely stores and autofills the rest. We'll have a busy week (I know, nothing…

Happy Sunday evening all. Following our busy Friday, we went up to Yorkshire yesterday to see family. It's a 1hr15 drive to our old town centre, but another 45 minutes+ down the valley to my in-laws, where there was a party to celebrate several things. We ended up getting home at 10pm; the cats were not impressed with us!…

Welcome @marsipan100. I too try to cut down on computer time outside of work, so I actually have MFP open on my work computer during the day (I appreciate not everyone can do this). If you know you'd stick to it, you could pre-track your food for a few days then you don't have to come on to update at all. I use a mixture…

@PlaneMonkey congratulations, all the hard work has paid off! That's so sweet - my husband would love that too. Years ago, I got him a bracelet with a metal spiral around a leather band that said 'You make me the luckiest girl in the world' and it's in a right state now, but he still wears it sometimes. When you…

Thanks for the craving input  I decided yesterday that I wanted McDonalds - but I didn't have enough calories left. We walked (a roundabout route) to get there, earning the calories I needed and then some, then back so I still ended up in a deficit. We ate in the restaurant; I think it says a lot that our first…

Hey all Tuesday afternoon here - we just got invited for our first Covid jabs, so booked in for next Wednesday. I'll be a nervous wreck when the time comes but by all accounts the injection isn't that bad. As long as we don't get any side effects which derail my running or our plans that weekend I'll be fine. I finally…

Same here. OH thinks I'm mad when I buy three/four of the same t-shirt in the same or different colours. My body shape (hourglass) might have come back into "fashion" but I don't really like fashionable high street clothing. I'm not that tall at 5'5, but find most tops too short in the body, and most pants too small on the…

I inherited the house proud gene from my Granny, but when it's just the two of us, i.e. over lockdown, we've definitely let things slide. OH doesn't tend to 'see' the issues, and he's not great at cleaning but he'll always pitch in to help, it's just that I find the planning/getting started hard work so often, we don't get…
