  • @jugar @ashleycarole86 I had more, but some of them were not very polite! I find 'cursing' like that can add humour to a situation and diffuse the anger, plus it's so irritating to step on a wet bath mat in fresh socks. :D @bowens1973 it still amazes me how your 'not good week' is still a 1lb loss. You're right, you've…
  • @kdblpn that's great that you're back at work, I'm sure you'll be back into the swing of it in no time. I've not had any time off, just not been going into the office regularly (once a month-ish), and it feels really different when I go in, so I can only imagine how much has changed for you. @yinxfed I use the Google suite…
  • I hope everybody is well. @micki48 those are really cute! It is cold today, and that made getting out of bed for a training session so much harder. Managed a good 75kg deadlift today, so 80kg is the next goal. We also worked on shoulder strength by doing some dips which I found very hard on the hands. Came home, defrosted…
  • CW: 79.8kg We ate out twice on Saturday due to being so far from home, but the scales were kind yesterday. Then we had bacon at lunch so I think it's probably water retention. I know that being out and about means I often don't drink enough as well which doesn't help weight loss. I'm feeling pretty flat/brain-foggy today,…
  • I'm Katie, 33, living in the UK with my husband and our two cats. I work in IT, full time at home alone these days as husband now has a job outside the house. I gained weight in my early 20s and this year had a really focused 6-7 months then lost some of that focus in August-October, and am getting back on track. I like…
  • I've just had a thought... normally we'd have moved into December's thread by now. Are we staying put this month @jugar?
  • Hugs to all of those that need/want them xx Sarah Millican was great (as always!) and it was nice to see my friend though we didn't have much opportunity to catch up. It was a late one as with the 1.5hr drive each way, I didn't get home until midnight so I'm pretty tired today, but worth it. I walked down to feed the ducks…
  • It's quite a bit warmer today, though for some reason I am chilled through. Had my training session this morning and was stripping layers in between each activity. :D We were deadlifting this morning, and aiming for my goal of 80kg. I did 70kg, and half a rep (didn't quite get to the top to lock out) of 75kg, so very…
  • We pay premiums like any insurance policy, but excesses and 'rewards' are based on your activity levels, which in turn is measured with a points system. There are four tiers based on how many points you earn in a plan year, and in each tier the excess will be reduced until there's no excess to pay. I tend to be in the top…
  • PW: 79.3 (or 4, can't remember!) CW: 79.7 I don't think that's bad considering, though it is in the wrong direction for my short term goal. 1 perfect day coming right up. We didn't leave the house at all yesterday due to the weather, which meant my step count was low and I needed to earn some activity points for the health…
  • I hope you get a negative test @Kali225, or at least if it is positive you have a mild case. I have a few friends (double vaccinated) who've had it and it has left them tired for a while. I've been considering Noom too, just for a kick start, but I don't like how little information you can get about it up front. I always…
  • @YinxFed I'm sorry that you had to say goodbye to Edie. It's never easy to lose a much loved companion and friend. I hope those of you celebrating Thanksgiving have had a wonderful holiday. We have snow here too @jugar - I'm less pleased. :D Where we are cleared up pretty fast yesterday and the snow that's falling now…
  • @jugar there's a podcast you might like.. The Doctor's Kitchen by Dr Rupy Aujla. He's a GP here in the UK but needed major surgery and when he was trying to get in the best condition he could for the operation, he actually resolved his health issue. He interviews various experts, including episode 4 being focused on gut…
  • PW: 79.7 kg CW: 79.3 kg @conleywoods your new guinea pigs are super cute! I had a weird weigh in on the 18th - dropped from 79.4 to 78.1 and back to 79.6 the day after. Who knows?! I would, if possible, like to be under 76kg on the 31st December, which would put me under 12 stone. I'm not sure how realistic that is…
  • I hope everybody has had a good week, even if in the smallest of ways! @ashleycarole86 Sunday 14th - 10,376 Monday 15th - 6,667 Tuesday 16th - 7,585 Wednesday 17th - 10,235 Thursday 18th - 11,934 Friday 19th - 2,510 Saturday 20th - 13,659 It's 8pm but I'm not going to do much more today so figured I'd add the steps now.…
  • @eggfreak best wishes for your mom. I can't believe it's only Tuesday. Alarm went off at 5.15am, I 'trained' 6-7 - it was 45 mins sports massage (mostly calf related) then 15 minutes of weight technique using only a broom handle which brings it's own challenges. Back home, showered, drove OH to work then I drove back in…
  • CW: 79.7 Not too surprised, and I feel like death warmed up today. Have done a test for Covid-19 and it was negative, so I think I'm just run down.
  • I hope everyone has had a good weekend  @eggfreak Gardener's World definitely has a cult following in the UK! @PlaneMonkey I'm struggling with the blank page in the Android app too. As somebody who works in software, I can confirm that they did not test this properly! I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to…
  • I hope everybody struggling with various things gets past them swiftly, virtual hugs to you all. Not the biggest fan of the new forum format.. this much white space (it's on my monitor) is a bit much on the eyes. Will spend some time later trying to adjust the theme etc if that's possible. I went for a run yesterday,…
  • @Terytha we must be the same age, give or take a few months. I also got together with my husband at 17, and we'll hit 17 years together in April. I'm 34 in January, and he never lets me forget that for 3 months, he'll still be 33. :D Yesterday was a bit of a mixed bag. I could not stop eating - even had banana sandwiches…
  • PW: 80.2 kg CW: 79.1 kg Just need to keep the trend heading in that direction now. I've to go for a walk at lunch time (sold another item on eBay) but won't manage a long one due to meetings. I still need to have my breakfast, which is supposed to be cereal, and had best get a move on because it's after 10am. Time flies…
  • @conleywoods that's some really great progress! @sljjjembeca my approach is to get a trainer - either a physio or sports injury therapist - rather than try to go it alone or with a PT. There are good PTs out there but they're harder to find in my experience. A pure lifting gym could be a good place to start.
  • Steps 31st - 2916 1st - 7905 2nd - 5982 3rd - 3477 4th - 5266 5th - 9666 6th - 15013 5 things 1. I used to have a Welsh Cob named Daffy, and have always loved horses. One day, I will have another! 2. I don't eat cheese - not allergic but can't stand it. Don't even like looking at the stuff. 3. My husband and I really enjoy…
  • I hope you're feeling better soon @jugar. It's chilly here this morning - first frost of winter. If anything, the biggest difference it has made is that Spock is hungrier than normal. I swear he's cat crossed with hobbit, as they've already had first and second breakfast, but now he's after brunch! Kirk eats slower and…
  • I went for a lunchtime walk to feed the ducks at the wharf (5 minutes down the road), having half a box of duck food in the cupboard. They were very grateful, so I may make it a regular thing! Lunch times will be when I'm more conscious of being alone at home I think, although I was fine until I started thinking about how…
  • @YinxFed firstly I think you're gorgeous! In terms of strength, I used to be very weak. I was lucky that I found a physio who trained me from the ground up, and I think it was going on 12 months before we even picked up a barbell. Thankfully, despite not training for over two years, that foundation has stayed in place and…
  • I often finish work (at home) with less than 2000 steps, which is why I've joined the challenge. As for the week... I've got spicy chicken pasta (the unblended version!) in the fridge ready for lunch today, and there are various things in the freezer for tomorrow/Friday. For me, ad hoc spending on food/snacks = gaining…
  • @ashleycarole86 no goal for now thanks, just to get off my backside more on days when I don't have a specific workout planned. I had one snack yesterday (some roast chicken pieces) but otherwise just stuck to main meals. Tea was quite hefty calorie wise as we had a pie from the supermarket - well worth it though. Tonight…
