  • Have you tried some meal planning and logging in advance of eating? I try to have a sense of what I plan to eat for the day and enter it all in before I even have breakfast. It allows me to see how it all fits into my calories for the day and if I have room to add or if I need to change portions, etc. Then if I eat what is…
  • @Megan_smartiepants1970 6/20 steps 10,720 @Poobah1972 Congrats on that loss and making it into a huge new milestone! Well done, your hard work is paying off! @mszoueb nice loss this week! Those losses keep adding up!
  • Good Culture Whole Milk Classic Cottage Cheese There is a cottage cheese where I grew up (wetern NY state) that is my all time favorite because it is a dry cottage cheese, not runny and soupy like most. I live in Texas now where they do not carry this brand and I have been searching for YEARS for something even remotely…

  • With the exception of a sister I am currently purposely avoiding, all of my family live far away. I have one friend in the neighborhood but she is a very negative person and is anything but supportive because she has not found any success in her weight loss journey. I just continue to throw myself into the process because…
  • What works for me right now is routine and consistency. I just do the steps every day that I know will lead to success. I walk every day, I lift 3x a week and I plan my food diary for the day before I eat anything.
  • These steps counts y’all get blow my mind! I hit a new high yesterday but am a LONG way off from even 20k let alone 30-40k @Megan_smartiepants1970 6/19 steps 13,005 @TheresaM787 @lindamtuck2018 thank you so much for your encouragement on here to all of us!! This group keeps me inspired to keep working hard!
  • Sorry you’re struggling today!! I don’t have any good advice for you but wanted to offer some encouragement. Funny enough, when I am trying not to eat, I often go to bed as well. I hope it passes and you feel better quickly! As for the jealousy, our emotions are what they are. Reality is even with the surgery you have to…

  • Cardio: Rowing 1000m and walk 2.64 miles Strength: Squat 67.5# 5x5, OHP 35# 5x5, Deadlift 70# 1x5 Assessment: Ate within deficit today, was down 0.2 on the scale this morning, always nice to see a loss.
  • You’re off to a great start!! Welcome back and keep posting here!
  • I’d look at some calorie dense items like greek yogurt, granola, nuts, cheese, avocado, nut butters, etc that aren’t overly filling but can add up quick. With that said, I don’t think I’d force myself to eat every last calorie just for the sake of it if you truly are full.
  • @lindamtuck2018 They do say our brain can take awhile to catch up to our bodies because I see a huge difference!! There is significantly more definition around your neck and face, you look years younger, not older!!
  • @Megan_smartiepants1970 6/17 steps 11,175 I did not wake up early for my walk this morning which means I will have to do it this evening after the sun goes down some. I just needed a little extra sleep this morning
  • That's valid.
  • For starters, bodies are weird and don’t always behave like we want them to. Most people on here will tell you to give it more time to work itself out. The first things to always check is to be sure you’re at a calorie deficit and you’re tracking accurately and diligently. If those are good to go, then be patient with it.…
  • Fantastic!! That’s huge, great job putting in the work to improve your health!
  • @Megan_smartiepants1970 6/16 steps 9,129 Man that alarm went off early this morning lol, but I pushed out of bed and got my walk in. Yesterday was lifting day. I am still working up to the 45lb bar in the presses but squatted 65 and rowed 50 (form could use some work on this one) The rowing machine is all set up so will…
  • Cardio walk 2.83 miles 204 calories Strength Squats 65# 5x5, Bench 35# 5x5, Barbell Row 50#, 5x5 Assessment under my calorie goal for the day. Mood a bit off today. Now that I am eating better and exercising, I am no longer content sitting at a computer for work all day. Even though I get up every hour, I find the act of…
  • So, here’s the good news. You have done it before so you already know the process works. Start with that and give yourself a little time to figure out the missing piece, which is how to maintain this way of eating and exercising for ongoing weight management. From what you said, you fell out of your routine just long…
  • @Megan_smartiepants1970 6/15 steps 11,826 Got my walk in this morning but was not as far as yesterday and it was still a struggle the last half mile or so. I can’t imagine getting the step counts that some of y’all get!
  • Hi, I am new to the group and this is my first post here. I started on the path to lose 40-50lbs focusing initially on my eating habits. Just recently, I have begun to add more structure around exercise. A little bit more about me: I am 48, female, 5'4", and currently 145lbs. I am looking at losing 20 more to reach my…
  • Unfortunately there may not ever be a time when life isn’t throwing you a bunch of curveballs. You don’t have to see it as adding a whole big thing to your plate all at once. Try implementing one small change into your life until it becomes routine and then add another. Before long, all of the elements will just fit in…
  • Honestly, I think the crux of what the original post is about is not giving in to all of the obstacles and quitting. The “attitude” being referred to is not about having a constant happy disposition but perseverance in the face of the challenges and difficulties and continuing to pick ourselves up and try again when we…
  • I crossed over into Normal BMI territory this morning!
  • Yay team!!! We are the big losers for the week! @Megan_smartiepants1970 6/14 steps 10,462 I am finding my groove with walking every day. Also just getting into a routine with lifting. Yesterday I squatted 65lbs, overhead pressed 30, and deadlifted 70. Not too shabby for a weak girl!
  • Losing weight, eating better, exercising can seem overwhelming if you try to do it all at once, and probably even more so for you. Living a healthier lifestyle is not a race to some finish line, take your time by implementing one small beneficial change at a time. Once you start finding some success, you can build upon…
  • While it is up to you to count calories or not, it takes a calorie deficit to lose weight. It sounds like you are losing, albeit slower than you would like. Which means your deficit is pretty small. And that’s okay unless you want to see some improvement in the rate of loss. If you don’t want to count calories, I would…
  • I think the change in my sef-esteem, mood, and outlook has been the biggest NSV for me. I am about halfway to goal but I already have a huge bounce in my step, I am considerably more positive, happier in general and really starting to love how I am looking these days. It feels incredible to be getting healthier and more…
  • Hi, I cannot begin to imagine what that must be like, I am sorry you have to deal with constant pain. You are most definitely not a failure! The great news is, you can lose weight without any exercise at all. In fact, diet has a much bigger impact on weight loss than exercise does. Rather than be in agony (which may cause…
