Wolfskin was a 5 star read, I have liked everything by Juliet Marillier that I have read. More mythology than fantasy. I read Riding Shotgun (Red Ryan #1) by William W. Johnstone with J.A. Johnstone, it was ok for a cheesy western. Now I am reading Hawk, which continues James Patterson's Maximum Ride series with a new…

I read and enjoyed Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein, and found it to be a lot different than I expected. This was my first Heinlein book and was written in 1959. I had in mind the (bad) movie I saw but I was surprised that it wasn't like that at all. A lot of philosophical discussion in the book for a sci-fi, some…

Lightning Down: A World War II Story of Survival by Tom Clavin I needed a non-fiction book for a kindle challenge and this story of a downed airman who was sent to Buchenwald death camp fits the criteria.

The Drowned Cities (Ship Breaker, #2) by Paolo Bacigalupi Same world (fantasy/scifi) as Ship Breaker, but different story and characters.

Ship Breaker (Ship Breaker, #1) by Paolo Bacigalupi

The Midnight Line (Jack Reacher, #22) by Lee Child the last one narrated by Dick Hill, then the narrator for the audio switches to Scott Brick (who is not bad either, but different).

I read The Last Juror by John Grisham and it was a solid book, 4 stars. Now I am reading Lake Silence (The Others book 6, and The World of the Others book 1, as it starts a new chapter) by Anne Bishop. This one is fantasy, Grisham was well, Grisham, legal thriller.

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. It won the Goodreads award for best Sci-Fi in 2021 so I expect greatness.

I'm reading the sequel, Parable of the Talents (Earthseed, #2) by Octavia E. Butler. So far I like it.

I have a library room! It has 7 full bookshelves in it (after culling books I have already read and don't plan to read again, about 8 bankers boxes full now). I also have about 1,000 books on my kindle, I don't know how many unread? I'm reading Ruin and Rising (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy #3) by Leigh Bardugo.

The Nightingale has been on Mount TBR for so long, I don't know why I haven't read it yet. I own it, I'll have to move it up in the stack I guess.

Amazon and Audible had a Tolkien sale so I picked up a couple. The Hobbit has a new audio recording and the ebook is in the Kindle Unlimited plan (75th anniversary edition, with extra audio and pictures). The ebook is fantastic, with sections read by the master fantasy author JRR Tolkien himself. The entire chapter where…

That one was kind of short, so I am continuing with book 2, Siege and Storm. There is a show based on this series but I am not sure if it is a mashup of the book plots, or follows the books strictly? I'm going to finish this trilogy before watching it so I don't accidentally spoil book 3 or something.

I loved that book, 5 stars from me as well. Hope you get well soon!

Tai-Pan by James Clavell, the epic novel of the founding of Hong Kong (Asian Sage book 2). And in other news, the baseball lockout is over, and players report to Spring camp Sunday. Hurray for everything!

I read Time Will Tell by Barry Lyga and it was just mediocre. Now I am reading The Dragon's Dagger by R.A. Salvatore, it is better but my go-to fantasy genre, it seems to be better than book 1 in the series though (this is book 2).

I am 73% finished with the 50 hour immersion read of "Go Tell The Bees That I Am Gone" (Outlander book 9) and I'm a little bit bogged down by some of the William parts of the story but overall it is awesome. Just 13.5 hours to go, a little more than a normal sized book. Maybe I'll be done this week!

I'm kind of in that boat too. I hear everyone rave about the books and show and keep meaning to get to them, but if they are so popular probably I wouldn't like as much as everyone and be let down. I have read other GRRM stuff though and really liked it, I don't know why I hold off? Wildcards series is great, granted he…
