@geodrone close, but more north. I'm up in Canada on the west coast. @Bentforkx closer! I'm on the mainland, about an hour east of Vancouver.

@jenny_ormson1 start by downloading Alltrails so you can see where you will be and read reviews. Pick popular trails so even though you're alone there's lots of people around. I always have my pack on me if I'm back country loaded with survival and first aid should I get stuck. Don't start with those trails. Join a…

Hike 34/150 was a short one but one of my favourite icy places. I'm really start feeling the changes in my body. Not just the 25 pounds I've lost but my agility, my mood, my mind. I'm down one size that feels great!

@celestialseeker thanks for your concerns and I agree you should always take caution when hiking alone but you also shouldn't fear it. I have been hiking since I was a kid and couldn't imagine not being out there. I've traveled all over the world and have had the opportunity to hike in Ireland and India. If you are not…

@SuzanneC1l9zz Great pictures! What a great place to unclear your mind. I love including nature in my workouts, it does so much for both mind and body. ❤️

Still keeping my hike going. I've completed 27/150 hikes this year and lost 21 pounds. Its been cold, rainy, sunny, and so much fu n. I've hiked alone, with friends and family. Yesterday a friend and I attempted to hike to a glacier but fresh know held us back but we still completed 14 out of the 20KM. My husband joined…

@SeleneMoon333 that is a 5 minute walk from my front door 🙂 Tomorrow I'm off to do a 20KM hike up to glaciers near Whistler. I'm excited and nervous about taking this on in the snow. Gear is packed, I head out at 4AM. Woot!
-
How's everyone doing? @SeleneMoon333 happy pre-birthday! I'm in awe of people who can do intermittent fasting. I'm a grazer and love breakfast so that's not going to work for me but there's always something for everyone. I'm up to hike 24 and down 18 pounds now. I'm excited for next week I'm hiking up to the glaciers, it's…

@MIssnewme9211 it's hard to grind our groove sometimes. Don't let the number on the scale overwhelm you, it's just a starting point. I find it easiest to log all my dinners a week at a time and shop around that. It takes away a lot of stress each day trying to plan and I did it easier to manage calories. I've been leaving…

@3moons3 I get the resetting and cutting back for a few days. I like that you focus on making sure you get enough protein, I think that's something a lot of us have to watch. @Lisa_Marie1416 Learning to eat healthy and balance keeping kids happy is always a challenge. How are you doing? I telecommuted for most of my career…

@3moons3 I don't know how youbdo 1200 calories. Mine is set to 1500 and I generally leave the calories I burn but will eat some od them on days I burn over 1200 calories. Today would be one of those days, a 9k hike needs a few extra calories.

Just east of Vancouver BC

Hey there, My starting weight was 312, I got down to 205 and then went back up to 285 before I got it back under control. I'm now at 260 and set a goal for myself of losing 50 pounds this year and doing 150 hikes. I started on Sparkpeople to and that 10 minutes a day starting point really made a huge difference and helping…

I'm an avid hiker, no matter what the weather. I've set a goal to complete 150 hikes this year along with a 50 pound weight loss. I'm looking forward to hauling less me up the mountains, especially since I have a 30KM hike planned for the summer!
-
Three very wet hikes completed, which brings me to 10/150 for the year. I'm having a lot of fun with this goal and picked up a few people that want to join me on some of the hikes. Not the pouring rain, it's freaking freezing out here but the nice weather, it's beautiful out here ones.
-
I decided while I was hiking today that I wanted to set a goal and push myself this year. Hiking right now is pretty easy, my business is shut down for a few more weeks so I'm out almost daily. Summer I work crazy hours and I need the goal to remind myself what I want to achieve. My goals for this year 150 hikes lose 50…

@geodrone I was in a similar situation. The friend I used to hike with just lost interest and only wanted to do the occasional one, those ones became shorter and shorter. We used to go out at dawn and hike at least 15K and it was a lot of fun. My husband isn't a huge hiker but he comes out with me at least once a week, I'm…

@SuzanneC1l9zz WOW! Beautiful place to hike and recharge. Thanks for sharing.

@Fit2btied2016 How scary! I'm really sorry to hear about that driver, I really hope he survived. I've opened that door with police standing to give the news and wouldn't wish that upon anyone. Kayaking is on my to do list, I just seem to keep bumping it down. Mostly looking for people who want to go with me, other than the…
-
@Fit2btied2016 that was crazy! Snowshoed out my door down to the river in the most incredible powder. I can't imagine how bad it was on the Coquihalla!
-
@alteredsteve175 thanks! Comments like yours really encourage me on days where I need a push. I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures of other people too :)
-
@NaeNaeGarvey does it help if you use poles? I really relied on them last year when my weight went way up, 30 pounds down now and I use them mostly on harder hikes. Tons of regular hikers rely on them.
-
I headed out in the fog yesterday, with a "chance of rain". I decided to not go into back country and stay on more popular trails since I didn't really expect to see anyone in this weather. I was so wrong. It's always great to see the die hard hikers out in miserable weather, lots of people to chat with along our way, most…

@marghies Are you at the south end of the Rockies? I'd love to see some of your photos and hear about your adventures. I used to live in Banff, much more north end of the Rockies :) I live just outside of Vancouver BC, I hike mostly in the Coast and North Shore mountain ranges.
-
@jwhitephoto great views, I love the rain coming down in the distance in the second photo!

Hi there, I'm 59 and have a goal to lose 50 pounds this year. I'm an avid hiker and most of my workouts are outdoors in nature. I've got 3 grown kids, 6 grandkids and a husband who doesn't love hiking but adores me so comes out on some of my adventures. Add me, I'm looking for motivation buddies.

WOW!!

Hiking in the pouring rain yesterday, heading out again today.

During the storm I got out to do some snowshoeing across the street from my home.
