After my black belt test, which my daughter watched me execute, my daughter said she wanted to start martial arts. Well today officially started that journey for her and my teachers let me tie on her white belt now that I’m a black belt. I haven’t stopped smiling since and my heart melted as I completed that knot.

My end goals are the biggest factors. Those are, in no order: Achieving my black belt, continuing to get good yearly checkup reports from the doctor, being an example to my family, having a beach-worthy body to get the maximum amount of sun (I don’t think I’ve ever had this in my life).

I think it’s all been mentioned. You need to find a big motivator to get you moving on those days when you really don’t care to do anything. The rest of the time it’s easier to just do something as opposed to nothing for your work out. Then don’t be hard on yourself. Forming new habits is hard but every bit of work you put…

I’m 180 with 22%ish body fat and I’m trying to do the same thing. Calorie deficit has gotten me from 245 to where I am today but this last part hasn’t been easy.
