I am finally feeling better and plan to finish the month strong. C'mon peeps, we can do this!

Two recent NSV: 1. My BMI has dropped below 35. Still obese, but now in the lowest class of obese. 2. I can no longer feel the rolls of back fat. I still have a bit of a bulge there, but it's no longer enough to sit on the skin below it. Buh-bye, back fat!

Wow, just a few days left of this month! I have been walloped with a brutal head and chest cold. It started with a sore throat last Monday (17th), hit full force on Friday, ruined my girls' weekend away plans, and has generally kept me near a bed for the last five days. No exercise—I can barely breathe just moving about…

@justanotherloser007 Caveat: I am not a medical professional. What I have learned about leaky gut started from books, podcasts, and videos (you'll get a ton of hits if you search "leaky gut" on YouTube). I would try to vet the person's qualifications and triangulate the sources to get accurate information and recommend you…

@justanotherloser007 Sounds as though you are getting the medical help you need, so these suggestions may not be helpful to you, but here goes in case they are: Dr. Sten Ekberg: 10 Signs That You Have a Leaky Gut (one is rashes): https://youtube.com/watch?v=M0K4CchaL40 Dr. Eric Berg: What Causes Hives and Itchiness:…

Great thread, everyone. I've been inspired by reading your goals. :) Kacy 51 years old 5'10" SW 9/11/22: 253 CW 10/1/22: 246 Next goal: 234 (a 5% loss) UGW: 165 (or so; see how I feel and what my body does—only 8 rounds of 5% to go LOL) I resonate with @justanotherloser007's approach to focus on habits and incremental…

What an inspiring thread! I hadn't really thought about setting monthly goals but I can see how helpful it might be. I will be thinking today and tomorrow about specific goals for October that I can share in that month's thread! Looking forward to answering all the questions fully then!

You're not stalled at all! You are eating mindfully, hydrating, starting to exercise, and seeing a dietician. That is all progress. Celebrate! Give your body some time! Remember that although we say we want to "lose weight," what we really want to do is change our body composition. We want to lose FAT, not weight. We want…

Last night I swam four more lengths than I did on Sunday, so that was a mini win. I need to find a better pair of goggles though....

Wow! An hour of lap swimming. I imagine it will be quite some time before I can do that. Very inspiring!
-
Good for you. I did my first Sunday morning lap swim. Had to pause after each length to catch my breath, but hey, we have to start somewhere, right?

Hello! I am new to the app—about 10 days now. I found with language learning that streaks really motivate me to do something every day, so I thought I would try it with food and exercise tracking. I am interested in some mutual support and encouragement!

Lots of great ideas in this thread. I was also inspired by this post, "177 Healthy Ways to Reward Yourself (Without Food)": https://healthyhappyimpactful.com/ways-reward-yourself-without-food/
