  • I agree with @Rich_SC that this app has the right mix of calorie tracking and activity encouragement. This challenge and community has really helped me. 22.5 miles today with my riding buddy after a month or so of not being able to ride together. https://strava.app.link/5mWUw0HRPyb YTD 485
  • Good work, @SavageMrsMoose, even if you missed your goal. Weather and work have grounded me the past 2 days, but I needed the recovery and plan to ride tomorrow with a friend. Enjoy Lisbon! I was just in Spain 2 weeks ago but haven’t been to Portugal.
  • Incidentally, the property pictured above is for sale, if you want to be my neighbor! https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbes-global-properties/2022/07/13/74-acre-green-gables-estate-in-silicon-valley-seeks-125-million/?sh=5310a51570c8
  • No meetings until 11 today so I got a bit more ride in. Rode a few new stretches, enjoying redwoods, streams, and gorgeous, $10M homes. https://strava.app.link/nweIDkYoLyb 22 miles today YTD 463
  • @wendsg you continue to amaze and amuse me, in equal measure. I’m back in the grove it seems, getting up and out for my morning rides when my schedule allows. https://strava.app.link/QkS7NOMTJyb Strong, quick 15 miles, 41 degrees, home and showered for my 8:15 appointment. YTD 441/2023. Looking forward to crossing the 500…
  • First of all, I wish it didn’t take so many clicks to get here. OK, had to get that out. Very good ride this morning, getting my legs back after some time off. Looking forward to warmer weather. 21.5 miles and almost 1400’. Just a gorgeous day. https://strava.app.link/RnKTKT2aEyb YTD 426/2023.
  • It’s been a minute, as the kids say (kids being anyone younger than 35). 15 miles and 1k’ after a week of international travel, jet lag, storms, and the travel Ick. Happy with this step. More to come. https://strava.app.link/GIX0lQotCyb YTD: 404 / 2923
  • Y’all’s commitment and consistency impresses me daily. Between the rain, a 2-day search & rescue callout (that’s me with the yellow helmet in the middle), the resulting poison oak reaction, and a couple nights out with friends, I’m off my game, off the bike, and feeling lethargic. Nonetheless, I got up early and hopped on…
  • Had a nice mountain bike ride yesterday; the first fat tire ride of the year. Over 2700’ of climbing (MFP called it “leisurely” since I can’t ride 15mph up 10% dirt grades. Fine. It was very windy today (up to 50mph!), so I rode my stationary bike while watching a training video. Whatever works! 300 / 2023 YTD (I’m not…
  • Caligula (sorry, had to) :-)
  • Keep shivering, @wendsg - 22 miles and 1400’ at 37 degrees this morning. Back under the covers trying to reanimate the toes. 4 top layers, 2 lower layers, 2 socks, “head thingie,” toe covers, and insulated gloves. Like dressing for battle. 271/2034 YTD https://strava.app.link/P2anf1KQuxb
  • 38 degrees at 6:30 am, but got 15 miles and juuuuust over 1k’ before work. Still trying to warm my toes. 249 / 2023 (about 12% of goal and 12% into the year, so on track!) https://strava.app.link/AaaEwTqbsxb
  • @Rich_SC Thats a fine ride there! I’m also jealous of that weather, which we Californians don’t often say. I’m looking at 37 degrees for my morning ride tomorrow. Looking forward to riding without so many layers.
  • 32 beautiful miles today. 103 for the week, 224 for the year. Getting there! And yes, I did ride up and down the street to hit an even 32. :-) https://strava.app.link/v6dTjoMQmxb
  • @wendsg I love your humor and appreciate your way with words. Thanks for brightening my day so often. 😁 https://strava.app.link/VSOUcsjEjxb 24.7 miles today for a grand total of 192. Why does it feel like 500 when I stand up to walk?! Beautiful morning in the redwoods and 1400’ of climbing for the win! Search & Rescue…
  • 2 rides today, one in the real world and one in the stationary while I watched a training video. https://strava.app.link/wrVWeW29cxb https://strava.app.link/Dx84QBdadxb 22.8 total miles, bringing me to 144 (ew, gross!) for the year.
  • First logged ride on the new bike. Launched into a workout that quickly ramped up to an 11% grade, so was a very tough 6 miles. I’ll need to figure that out! Good workout, but fewer miles. https://strava.app.link/6FTHwhf5axb 121 miles for the year. I’ll try to catch up!
  • Shorter ride this morning due to an 8:00 call, but got in 12 miles and 1k’. 36 degrees, but gorgeous sunrise! Looking forward to getting some longer rides in.
  • @wendsg Goodness, I was letting my hilly privilege show, wasn’t I! 🙂 The stationary bike we just acquired links to iFit, and I haven’t found a way to import “miles“ from there either directly or through Strava. Maybe I can manually add it to Strava. Open to suggestions; I’m still fumbling around a bit on MFP. I got out the…
  • 15.3 morning road ride (36 degrees, brrrr!) 89 for the year. Picking it up! A challenge for feet of elevation gain would be fun
  • We were gifted a ProForm trainer yesterday, so will have an option on rainy/ cold days. No more excuses!

  • I would love to jump into this! I am a long time mountain biker who bought his first road bike in October. I’m averaging about 50 miles a week, right now, but would like to increase that as the weather improves. I am new to MFP and use Strava to track my rides. I am in the San Francisco Bay area.
  • Thank you all or the encouraging and positive responses.
  • I was wondering the same. The level guidance is occupation biased. I work at the desk, but at home and I rarely sit for long. I ride my bike several times a week around 15 miles with 1,000’ elevation and do other exercise. I am getting 1650 calories, which seems low for me (5’9” 199lbs). I have found the exercise calories…
