Made my goals for yesterday - DH left for his family visit and I am glad I didn't go. Just finished a workout and stretch, then will do some work & food prep. My daughter left for the day as well so I'm all alone here on a rainy day...it's kind of awesome!! :) JFT: log food stay within calories 100 oz water workout &…

Hi I'm Jenny from the Bronx, NY - 58 years old, 5' 6", and struggled my whole life with food. I was already at my top weight and then gained another 20 pounds during the pandemic that I keep gaining and losing. I'm working hard to get back to a weight that's not super skinny but something I can maintain and feel good at -…

@pridesabtch - Oh, you're giving me flashbacks of my own experience with my mom. The neighbors calling because she's knocking on their door looking for her parents...and none of us lived close to her. My oldest sister was very gung-ho to sell her house and move her right into assisted living, but she was basically in the…

Hi All! I'm Jenny from the Bronx, NY (not THAT Jenny from the Bronx ha ha) and I'm in for the upcoming 100 day challenge, hope you don't mind if I hop on for the last week of this one too! I'm determined to get back on track STARTING TODAY!! I was down 25 pounds at the end of July, then let vacations and summer fun derail…

I checked him out - he's a trip!!! But way beyond my abilities both in terms of knees and in terms of dancing - I seriously am the worst dancer on earth. I can't move in any dance-y way, and it just frustrates me to try tbh. But I can see how that would be a fun and energizing way to start your day!!!

I've been meeting my goals since Monday, and weighing and logging daily. The hubby is visiting his family this weekend and I'm opting out because I know it's a day filled with fatty food and alcohol, and I'd either have to abstain or bring my own food, both of which would elicit eyerolls from his family. His sister can be…

@pridesabtch - So sorry for both your MIL and your mom's issues, so tough on them and the whole family. My mom had dementia (amid other mental health issues) and navigating trying to help someone who can't make clear decisions for themselves is really challenging both mentally and physically. Do your best to take care of…

Thanks for the welcome! Looking forward to getting to know everyone better :)

Hi all - it's been a while, as I was off throwing all my hard work into the toilet and regaining 10 pounds over vacation and various summer fun. I had a swath of extended time off which turned out to not be great for my discipline - back at work yesterday, and back at working for my health! I also joined the opposite of…

Hi, I'm Jenny and would love to join in! I was on a great weight-loss roll in the spring, then I let too much summer fun derail me. I am determined to get back on track! Back from vacation...well, actually back Sunday but as is my way I let the bad eating continue for a few extra days. :# I'm determined to get back to what was working so well for me BEFORE vacation...I'm gonna stay away from the scale for now and just BEGIN. JFT: no food till 2pm stay within calories 100 oz water 30 min…

Went a little bit off the rails last night- hubby was away visiting family and I started binge watching "White Lotus" then found myself...well not bingeing necessarily, but eating well over my calorie limit. Kind of a binge. Like a slow motion, every hour having a little more something kind of binge. :/ I've been nearly…

I went a little above my calories last night - just a little extra greek yogurt so it wasn't a major splurge but it was a warning bell for me. I just didn't care and still felt hungry (though in reality I had just had dinner and 2 yasso greek yogurt bars so that wasn't real hunger, that was "I want to keep eating" hunger.)…

Ah, flat sandals is how it all started for me! I was walking across the park and literally felt a muscle pull in the arch of my foot. It took me a long time to realize that it wasn't going away, and even longer to figure out I have to wear supportive shoes that hit my arch just right ALL THE TIME! Vionics ARE pricey but…

@PackerFanInGB - you are very welcome! Don't encourage me or you'll find this thread littered with recipes ha ha. I find trying new ones very motivating, though I don't have a lot of time for tremendously complicated ones. I'm a big fan of hungry-girl.com, she's got a lot of recipes that are low calorie, easy & super…

Stayed strong over the weekend, and met my goals daily. Had great workouts at the pool and the scale finally rewarded me with a big drop! So I'm heading into Week 5 of this new plan feeling energized and motivated! JFT: no eating until 2pm stay within calories log all food 100 oz water 30 minute workout +stretch

This recipe for Chopped Mediterranean Rainbow Salad is something my husband loves to take to work for his lunch - which was shocking to me he enjoys a salad this much! It makes four 2 cup servings, and is very healthy but I haven't done the math for the exact calorie count...it's very light and bright and the mix of…

Here's the "Eggroll in a Bowl" (otherwise known as "Crack Slaw" because it's so addictive) - this is the recipe as written (except the original also calls for ground beef instead of turkey, but the turkey is SO much healthier and very tasty) but I doctor it a bit in addition to that...I skip the shredded carrots and add an…

Last week was a hideously stressful week at work, with 5 14+ hour days. This job ends Tuesday and then I have a break until September! So plan to really make use of the down time...but the biggest victory was that I stayed OP last week even with the stress & lack of sleep...though it did mess with the scale, which is…

Work has been insane but I've been staying strong with the food & water...exercise is falling a little behind but these 14 hour days are killing me. Isn't it clever how they manage to get nearly two days of work out of me for the price of one? But I'm trying to ingratiate myself with this company because they do a LOT of…

Definitely spaghetti squash would work! Love it! I use it all the time, sometimes in a combo with zucchini noodles. Another easy "pasta" recipe that's plant-based is just take a serving of frozen boca crumbles (or any plant-based "beefy crumble"), nuke it with 1/2 c of tomato sauce for 3 mins, then serve over either…

All goals met for yesterday - also prepped a ginormous amount of Indian Chicken stew in the slow cooker for next week's lunches, and DD21 loves a curry stew as well so she'll help me eat it...and froze about 12 servings too. ;) Today DH has requested baked ziti for dinner, so I'm gonna prep some more Zucchini Noodles with…

omg - I never knew MFP corrected language. I didn't think b*star*ds was such a bad word! But OK - don't let the kittens steal your joy either. ;)

@Bex953172 - I am so sorry for what you've been dealing with, how awful to feel that people are ganging up on you. Hopefully these people aren't super close to you or a part of your daily life. (If it's family, that sucks and I'm extra sorry.) I am EXACTLY the same way - stress like that throws me off the rails every time.…
