Can't live without my Shellac either but I do it at home as it's too expensive where I live (you're getting a really good deal there!). £15 for the UV lamp, £15 each for the polishes, £1 each for the acetone and gel inhibition remover. Works out around £2 per polish and lasts for two weeks. Would kill for a personal…

It's a family thing  Meet my cousin the Bakewell Tart... (Pic size edited)

My namesake, the Manchester Tart. Packed with lots of lovely dairy and calcium.

Then let me introduce you to the White Russian. Dairy and alcohol - win-win all round

That's good enough for me. I'm going to give up dairy as, heaven forbid, I might end up with abs like Sara "Fatty" McFatty's

Fantastic! I stopped smoking four years ago and went from 40-a-day to cold turkey. I found the first three days the hardest as you wait for the nicotine to get out of your system. This is a British forum but I found it really helpful when I stopped: http://forum.nosmokingday.org.uk/ Keep up the good work :flowerforyou:

Hmmmmmm. Old post resurrected by two first-time MFP forum posters. Hmmmmmmm... Last time I checked overweight people aren't being prescribed these tablets to help them lose weight, which suggests to me the evidence isn't strong enough. Think I will continue down the path of eating less than I burn and not wasting my money…

Give it a go for a couple of weeks and see how you get on. As others have said, you need to log everything, right down to your vegetables and drinks. If you have any queries about the Roadmap the groups on MFP is really helpful. You can join here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/8017-in-place-of-a-road-map

As others have said, it's not correct. The database is compiled by people like you and me and mistakes are often made. I'd also not worry about your sugar intake unless you have a health reason for keeping it low. Just make sure your overall carbs fit with the macros you are aiming for instead. Good that you are looking at…

I would really think about going to a doctor, if I were you (perhaps ask around where you live to get a recommendation). There are plenty of other options you could try, mefenamic acid and naproxen to name but two (ibuprofen is quite a light-weight drug to be on if you are having real problems). Also reconsider the pill.…

Hope I'm not too late - just spotted the date of the original post. I love scrambling and most of my hikes include it. Quick tips: * Include some squats and stomach crunches in your routine away from hiking. They will help with your balance and keep your knees in good shape. Lifting some weights for upper body strength…

There is so much about this that is so wrong I don't even know where to begin. Absolutely no scientific proof behind what you have said. OP: It's good that you want to do the best for your body, but detoxing is a myth with no scientific basis. Simply eat under your TDEE (20% under is a good start; calculate your TDEE here:…

Very well put! I have friends who lost incredible amounts of weight on LighterLife. While they were doing it they more or less stopped doing all the things they did before (exercise, drinking, going out) because they were too tired all the time. And now? Every one of them has put the weight back on - and faster than it…

* Log in advance. I know I will drink a pint of milk in my tea and coffee during the day so I log it first thing. Likewise with the majority of my food. It also helps you stay on track and not eat extra. * Log while cooking - pot simmering on the stove? Take two minutes to log * Use your phone - if you have a smart phone…

FTW It's also worth noting that obesity is a factor in the development of dementia for some people so getting your weight down could help prevent it. I'm pretty certain the risk from being obese is higher than the risk from the additive. Having said that I do love butter and coconut oil (love it in coffee and stir fries -…

Oh, I don't know, sounds pretty sensible to me! I weigh absolutely everything at home, but that's just me. If I'm eating out it becomes a guessing game so I just try to get a run in that day to balance out any excess.

:flowerforyou: I net around 1600 a day (I aim for TDEE-20% and eat back my exercise calories). But if I'm doing a big hike then I can quite easily eat and drink 4,000 calories gross (scramble up and down rock faces for six hours in the snow kids if you want to be able to indulge and drink beer!).
