Oh, and if you don't have a dishwasher then forget it. Nightmare juicing several times a day and washing it by hand - impossible to get clean.
-
Well that's not very nice, is it?

Click on the 'Community' tab then 'Groups' at the top of the page. Then search for the intermittent fasting and 5:2 groups - lots of support and advice from people who have tried it.

Me too. My activity levels vary each week so this is more accurate for me. It also means I can have a few drinks on Saturday if I've 'earned' them with a big hike during the day. Oh, and CMRiverside is right about the other advice.

Couldn't have put it better myself. I shook my head in disbelief throughout the show. Juicing as part of a healthy diet is absolutely fine but just juicing is crackers. My thoughts: 1. He spoke a lot about macro and micro nutrients and got it completely wrong. All foods have both and one is not somehow "better" than the…

Most of what I was going to say has been said above: * 1200 is very low. MFP sets most people at this level but it is rarely right. Have a look at this thread and consider upping your calories a litte: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/963088-level-obstacles-lose-weight-target-fat-easy * What about asking your…

 I keep it simple - I get thirsty, I drink something wet. Works well for me.

I bow to your awesome wisdom!

Bumping to stick on my fridge. I always struggle to hit my protein.

Lots of win in this thread - particularly the suggestion to the OP to weigh all your food. It's incredible how far out measurements can be so I am now just in the habit of always weighing my food and drink (I put my plate on the scales and just zero before adding each item). With fat, it fills you up and is needed as part…

Ha ha! Thanks for sharing this. I think we have all been there - you go for a run and think you are burning off a lot of calories and have "earned" that treat. While running is a great calorie burner it is not a magic bullet. When doing C25K I was burning around 300 calories per run/walk. It's not as much as you would…

Really? If I exercise and eat less then I will lose weight? Well I never!

Hmmmmmm. First post and no info whatsoever on your profile. Think I will take the OP's advice rather than yours!

You can buy multi-packs of Twiglets from all the major supermarkets. I always find crisp multi-pack packets a bit disappointingly small, but it's a good thing for watching those calories! Also worth noting that a lot of the 'diet' ranges of snacks are not actually lower in calories but just smaller packets. I'd rather have…

My go-to lunches at work are: * John West lunches (in the tinned fish aisle) - tuna or salmon varieties with things like pasta, bulgar wheat etc. Look a bit soggy but they are long life at and around 300 calories a tin so you can stock up and keep in your desk at work without refridgerating. * Oatso porridge pots (or…

Ah, you beat me to it Trog!

It's amazing that you have picked up running so quickly and you should be really proud of yourself :flowerforyou: Get yourself a set of kitchen scales and log everything you eat and drink - it's amazing once you start writing it down and actually see what you consume. And you will be safe in the knowledge that as your…

In to see if I can learn anything new. And to be the first to mention Pop Tarts.

I refuse to wait to eat anything chocolately so just blend frozen bananas with cocoa and PB and eat straight away, usually straight out of the mixer bowl. Disgusting but true  Banana with a dribble of espresso for creamy coffee flavour works well too.

As others have said make sure you buy when in season and check out your local market. Best bet is to get there after 4pm when there are bargains to be had. Not sure where you live but, for example, Leeds outdoor market currently has two punnets of strawberries for £1. If you go late on on a Tuesday they sell everything off…
