I'm not a parent, but I am a special education teacher, and I couldn't let your topic go without a comment. Right now I have a class of 10, and 3 of them are on the autism spectrum, and all 3 are very different children. I have also heard from teachers and staff who have known them longer than I have that they have made…

Aha! You may have figured it out. There's all sorts of things that effect weight gain/loss. But it seems like you've lost 2 lbs. in two weeks! Is that correct? Because if it is, you go girl! A pound per week is perfectly fine.

I agree! I brought my mom to see it, and I had never really watched the show (I kinda remembered a few things from it, but not much), and we both loved it!! Btw, it's much cooler now.

Well I have the water part down without a problem. As far as advice for you non-water drinkers, I would repeat what someone else suggested, which is to drink a glass right when you wake up, and there's 1/8 of your day's water already finished. I also associate drinking water with different parts of my day so that I…

Oh that sucks! :ohwell: I know, Hulu/NBC takes forever to post shows... and I don't really know how else you could catch it besides asking a friend to DVR it for you!

Perfect! I'd love to be a part of making him smile at the finale!

Oh my gosh, I love Mike and his emotional side! That family has a lot of love for each other! If it comes down to voting between Mike and someone else, I vote for Mike!

Thank you for making week 1 a cardio challenge week! I have been eating well for months, but often neglect to exercise after I get home from work. :ohwell: Today, I got home, had a quick healthy snack, made a quick trip to the grocery store (which took about a half hour in there but I'm counting 10 minutes of walking), and…

Starting weight: 167 Goal weight May 31: 163 We can do this together!

I'm posting my info now in case I forget to tomorrow (with it being Friday and all). Starting weight: 167 May 31 Goal: 163 That's a loss of 1 pound per week, and I average 3.5 pounds per month, so I want to do a half pound better than normal! Fitness Goal: Schedule workouts into my daily/weekly routines so that they…

Hehehe. I don't know for a fact, but I think she was saying "good luck" on starting here on her weight loss journey! Welcome szczepanek! Check out some other topics and get posting! ~Brianna

Oh my goodness... last week was my spring break, so today was day 3 back to work. And YIKES... I am so tired! I need to be getting to bed earlier so that I can make it through the day with my lovelies. By the way, I gained a few pounds over break because I stopped keeping track of cals, but I'm already on…

Thanks for the stories! They made me smile. By the way, I can relate... I have Wii Fit too! I'm sure it will yell at me next time I use it, because it's been so long since I have!

Wow, great idea Mickie!! Unfortunately, I have a feeling that no such site exists. :ohwell: Maybe you could make a food log (in Microsoft Word or something) for your students to record what they ate at each meal, and then they could turn it into you, and you could look up the stats. Sounds like too much work though...…

I'm a teacher, and my spring break sent me off course a bit. :drinker:  I'm already getting back on track this week, and I'm excited that the weather is finally agreeing with us here in upstate NY! I've been able to enjoy outdoor activities again! :glasses: Perfect time for a challenge, so thank you!!

Meaningful thing to do or not really? I'd like to go skydiving. :glasses:

This site is great. My advice is don't get discouraged if you get off track for a little bit. Just keep coming back. I joined in October and have lost 20 pounds already. I am eating so much healthier than I did before. You can do it! :flowerforyou:

Thanks soooo much everyone for all the comments!! :flowerforyou: Based on your advice, I'll weed through my closet (oooh that's scary, are you sure?), and won't spend all my money on the next size down because hopefully there will be more to come! Have a great night. ~Brianna

Today I weighed in 20 pounds lighter than when I started in October! I haven't seen this number on the scale since 4 years ago!!! And yesterday, the "If every day were like today, you'd weigh __ in 5 weeks" tool showed me a number I haven't seen in 8 years! This is amazing!! The best part, by far, is that for the…

Thanks! good tips!

I don't know much, but I think one place we get Vitamin D is from the sun. Winter's just ending here (upstate NY), so I probably have a vit D deficiency too! Sorry I can't help ya. Hopefully someone else will respond with more info.

Congrats Laura on your upcoming wedding! I'm getting married in October, so I have a little more time on my side than you do, but I'm sure you will look fantastic on your wedding day! Just keep up the good work... it seems like you have a good routine going. ~Brianna

Good idea checking in! I have a feeling a lot of us liked the idea of this group, but forgot about it! I think I am down 16 pounds since starting in October (my ticker will show it when I post), and people are noticing! I'm still carrying around 172 pounds on a 5'5" body, so I'm still working. My progress…

Thanks for posting! My favorite part is towards the end.... "So, yes, love and care for your body as a loving caretaker, even as a mother lovingly cares for her children. Exercise. Move, sweat, dance, run play. Rest when you're tired. Eat when you're hungry. Feed it whole foods that nourish your particular body (because no…

My fiance loves that show too. It always makes me want some heavy, usually cheesy, comfort food! Everything looks so delicious, and then you have Guy taking huge mouthfuls and raving about it. I don't blame you for leaving the room... good choice.

Thank you! Sounds like so much fun!! I can't wait to try it. I think I will have to pass on the quesadilla making since I don't have skillets, but I could borrow the idea with just about anything! Hmmm... now the only question is when will I have time??

Sounds like a lot of us are preparing for standardized tests right now... yuck! We have math tests coming up (elementary), and I teach kids with special needs who still need to take them. Not fun. Mickie17 - a while ago you mentioned fruit salad to teach fractions. I think I get the idea of it, but do you have specifics…
