  • I use cottage cheese as a replacement for mayo, dips and creamy salad dressing--just mix in whatever! Mustard, lemon pepper, hot sauce--throw it on top of things like you would any old dressing. OR blend it and it's more mayo-like (for sandwiches and things)
  • -- wow, this thread moves too fast for this old girl.
  • I am in loooove with Jillian Michaels AND this workout. Though in the middle of the workout you might feel like "ugh oh my god I cannot take any more", by the end you'll almost be ready to tack on an extra circuit! Each level eases you in to the other, and after a few days your body will adapt and the soreness will…
  • Ugh, there is hardly ANYONE from Saskatchewan here! I'm in Regina :)
  • Preach girl preach! Amen. The first few days are rough, but after day 4-5 you will really notice a shift in your capacity to maintain energy throughout the workout, as well as little to no soreness following the workout. Just make sure to eat properly, stretch (do more than they do on the video, if you need to! I've found…
  • For sure--Watermelon is loaded with sugar, as are most fruits. I'll admit though, I never log: 1) Cucumber (I usually eat about 4-5 thin slices in a sitting) 2) Gum 3) My first cup of coffee 4) Any multivitamin All these things as so low cal that I feel psycho running to add them to MFP. It's like adding a walk to the…
  • Always talk to your doctor before going off medication. People thinking they can "wean themselves off" medication and then crash...This process is a major cause of depression related suicide. It's (obviously) not worth it--especially for some vanity thing, like losing 10 lbs (You, Lea, are clearly not overweight to any…
  • I think everyone's first instinct on MFP is to claim you need to be eating more calories, but that isn't necessarily the case. Do you use itunes? Jillian Michaels has a really good podcast (I believe it's called "The Jillian Michaels Show") about plateauing (I don't remember what number it is, but it will be in the…
  • "Foxes Mate for Life" -- Born Ruffians "You've Got a Friend in Me" -- Randy Newman
  • Whenever I need motivation, I just start mentally rattling off three or four traits I like about myself (ie "I'm smart. I'm funny. I make things happen."). It's unrelated to the workout itself, but it reminds me that I am good enough to keep going and push through it. I also like to tell myself things like "you're doing…
  • Haaa. Hi. First off, EFFYEAH to boiled eggs (they account for 90% of the animal products I eat). For me, cutting bread out entirely at first (for 9 months) helped a lot--not all grains, just specifically breads. I also cut out milk (by opting for soy or almond) and cheese (on most salads, sandwiches and pastas) for 9…
  • Ugh, thank you so much, you guys! Your replies were all really helpful. I hate workout videos because they are usually really hard to log, but after seeing so many great before/after photos here, I thought getting really committed to it would be a great idea...Then I went to log the "trial run" I did today, and I felt like…
  • I don't reward myself. I try not to attach any reward/punishment stimuli to my weight loss, or I start to feel guilty and sad when I mess up. But if I had to frame something as a "reward", I'd say I'm a lot more confident with what I'm wearing when I reach a goal, and allow myself to start taking a few more fashion…
  • I think this is really true. Just seeing how things add up is the main thing that keeps me on track. Great reply!
  • Welp, you two are the cutest thing.
  • I think a lot of men just don't know how to react--not that he necessarily expects/wants you to be fatter. Like most other people, I think there are explanations. 1) He might be worried about you (people, particularly here, can be REALLY obsessive about weight loss...to the point, I imagine, it might put a strain on their…
  • LOL OH YOU'RE FUNNY! :D But really, most of the time when I laugh at a joke/whatever, it's because I'm nervous and I want to get out of that social situation as soon as is humanly possible.
  • nation of namby-pamby's... that was just the cutest thing.
  • fresh veggie/fruit juice (juiced the night before), those "carnation" breakfasts (though those may contain some kind of animal product--I'm not strictly vegetarian) and soy/almond milk, a baggie of cucumbers, a small container of walnuts/dried apricots, a banana/apple, ---any combination of these. I usually grab a…
  • I picture it to be sort of like "OHYAAAH I HEAR THATLOLOL" or something. But I don't know anything about the way society communicates. So.
  • I'm starting to find all these domineering//passive aggressive posts really irritating. It seems like there are more and more of them on lately. MFP is becoming a high school.
  • My boyfriend named his little 2010 Prius, Agnes (because everyone teases him for it being an 'old lady' car)
  • I've tried to cut down my consumption of meat/meat products due to the fact that livestock maintenance and production causes a lot of CO2 emissions (particularly beef). I don't drive (unless I'm visiting my parents or something, at which point we [my boyfriend and I] drive a Prius to keep emissions low), I try to buy…
  • About how long have you been at this? Absolutely incredible.
  • Burberry. I wish more men were in to this--it's such a refreshing change from CK (what I find most men head for). I also love the Commes des Garcons anti-perfume line. I've purchased Odeur 71 for my boyfriend, which I also like to spray in my bag from time to time.
  • UGH I'm a huge scent snob (why do so many of you like playboy? It's heinous!) a mix of Estee Lauder "Beautiful Sheer" and Tokyo Milk "Let them Eat Cake" for dates and outtings (the light floral but woody scent of Sheer mixed with rich vanilla is very soft and safe). I also like "Flower Bomb" from Viktor & Rolf--it comes in…
  • Most older people I know have mentioned I look like Carole Lombard (which I can see). I've also been compared to anyone from Christina Hendricks to Kat Dennings. I'm not entirely sure I look like any of those people, though. I'm a lot more plain than that…
