In the same situation, I would expect that my husband was only making the comment based on the fact that those girls are paid to look their best. It is their job. While my extra weight was sure not what his ideal would be, it never meant that he didn't still want me, flaws and all :) One of the benefits of love. Let it go…

That's terrible. Is Dave just doing this to piss Courtney off or what?

Take the kids to the Dollar Store and let them pick what they want. Could be entertaining for you too :)

You have your whole day's food intake plugged in before breakfast.

For the parents, I would give a Restaurant gift card and offer to babysit so they can have a night out :)

I know it doesn't matter how many of us tell you that you have no reason to feel pathetic. All of us had triggers that caused us to reach our unhealthy weights and I am sure most are not for events as tragic and painful as those you have dealt with. Thank you for sharing your story. I can only hope that the fact that it…

Wow, really? I wish I lived somewhere Leave It To Beaver enough that I didn't have the concept of a security camera lol For the back story, I got home as Trick or Treating started. We just got our power back on after the hurricane, and I have a flight today, so I had laundry, dishes, packing, etc. to get done ASAP. Put the…

My philosophy is "Everything in moderation." If I were to cut pizza or ice cream entirely out of my life, I would be miserable. It wouldn't be a life worth living for me. So, I do partake. I just make sure to make room for the treat or workout extra to accomodate the calories.

I also have knee issues (even before I was heavy), so I started with 15 mins on the eliptical every other day. As I've progressed, I have added time or resistance and just keep going as hard as I can.

This is pretty much where I hit as well. I am a bit heavier than you and have a few additional years, but 5'6.5. I just finished 30 mins and my HRM declares that I burned 302 calories. I increase resistance and feel like I'm working hard. But I rarely get my heart rate over 165. I usually average about 155-160.

I don't think she meant she was only eating 1000 calories... just a thousand or so less than she used to :) I tend to snack on veggies and low cal dressing of some kind or apples/celery with some PB2. Occasionally a Yoplait light if I want something a little sweeter. When I first started, I lived off 100 calorie packs. It…

Gorgeous before and after! Congrats on your success. You are doing great!

I met my husband online 15 or so years ago at this point. We were just friends for years. Chatted constantly. But I was in Michigan and he in Massachusetts. I was terrified of the distance. After a bad relationship and him being there for me yet again, I decided to just go for it. That first visit is crazy. It's amazing to…

I make sure to acknowledge/celebrate all of the small victories. Needing smaller cloths, changing BMI categories, killing another 10 lbs, not getting winded taking the stairs, working out longer, burning more calories, etc. ANY thing that will help you focus on the positive in your journey. I'm doing this very slow.…

I gave all of mine to my parents. They do foster care and were able to share with some other families. I wanted no part in keeping them around. If I can't wear the clothes I am in in the future, I want to work on it right away, not fall back to them just because I happen to have them already.

Oh man, it depends on the time of year! Some combination of: Walking Dead Game of Thrones Breaking Bad American Horror Story Dexter

"I'm too tired" for me is to give it the 5 minute try. By that point, I am in the routine and complete the full workout. If I was actually too drained and felt lousy after the 5, I'd give it a rest. But never happened so far :)

Honestly, I couldn't have gotten this far if the hubby hadn't come on board. He's a pretty picky eater, so until he comitted to trying these "healthier alternatives", I just didn't have the will power to fight it on my own. We've both lost a good amount at this point and are happy for each other's progress more than our…
