  • I wish you could lose weight in specific areas with specialized workouts but alas... The best advice I can give is to take high intensity classes with a trainer who has the type of body you would like to have. Chances are they'll be going through some of their own favorite routines in the class they teach. I'm a firm…
  • Oh yeah, those things are set for a 150 pound man. I'm a 95 pound woman. I choose to log my workouts just so I remember what I did, but I don't eat back the calories. If MFP's estimates were right for my body I think I'd weigh about 80 pounds by now.
  • Yep: 1350 to 1420. I worked with a nutritionist to come up with that. I'm 5'2 95 pounds. I work out 5-6 hours a week (hard core weights and marathon training) and I've maintained my weight for 15 years.
  • I am not a mother but I am a high school teacher. We have a pretty strict dress code at our school but that doesn't include anything about the height of heels for young ladies. I think it depends on the shoe, the style, the dress and the occasion. I wouldn't say that five inches to too high for a 16 year old, period. I…
  • As long as it fits into my calorie budget I eat it. For example, this mornings breakfast was a king sized Reese's. Not the best choice, not a daily choice...but the right choice for me this morning. I think that you have to make peace with whatever you choose. I've been a avid calorie counter for years and I am not on here…
  • I am very petite. I use free weights under the direction of a trainer anywhere between 8 lbs. (each arm) to 12 lbs.
  • Yep. Perfectly normal. I have a comfortable weight range I try to maintain and not just one number.
  • Trust me. It rolls. And jiggles. When I take a trampoline class I look like a mini jello shot:) BUT your comment made my day. Made my WEEK! Thank you. You've inspired me to keep trying and keep working.
  • Ok, you all can check out my jelly belly at carolynnicolegrayson.tumblr.com. I'm also going to write about my progress (positive thinking) on my tumblr account. Maybe do a day by day journal. I'm not quite sure yet.
  • Once a week over the summer, once a month during the winter. Or rather, during the school year. I get busy.
  • 1. I love rats, I think that they are cute. 2. I did a lot of acting and modeling as a child. 3. I'm adopted. 4. I hate the city where I grew up. 5. I'm 35 and am not sure if I ever want children. 6. My husband and I met at a frat party. 7. I was anorexic in college and have food diaries from the age of 18 on. 8. I want to…
  • 5-6 hours a week. Sometimes it's only an hour a day, sometimes it's two hours a day but the hours don't total more than 6. I take classes though as opposed to just going to a general gym. I would work out more because I enjoy it, but my doctor doesn't recommend it.
  • So, I think I've found a way to post photos from my phone...kind of. If you post the photo to your tumblr and then copy the link into this thread it should work. Also, is it ok to post just an ab shot? I'm a high school teacher and the last thing I need is for some parent to claim I'm posting bikini shots online. By just…
  • ICKY. YUCKY. VERY GREEN. I personally don't care for it at all.

  • So June 1st you're starting over? I'm in. This is exactly the part of my body that I wanted to focus on for the next month anyway, maybe all of you will keep me honest and on track. Does anyone know how to post pic directly from a phone? It seems like every other app has this ability, why not MFP? I'm thinking there may be…
  • I have biotin in my hair, skin and nails vitamins and I have maintained the same weight for 15 years. But, everyone is different. Try cutting down and see what happens.

  • I might try your Dad's method for a week or two. You don't have to do cardio every day, you get results not when you switch things up. Try weight training one day/cardio the next and see if it shocks your body. You can over train. I get "dunked" to test my body fat twice a year and while training for the Chicago marathon I…
  • I hate when people tell me to "live a little" when I say I don't want to eat unhealthy foods. In most cases I don't like the food I'm being offered, why would I eat it? And when did living=eating? I'm very small so people always want me to "gain some weight". Uh, no thanks, I'm good. I want to be healthy and limber and…
  • I log everything. I've actually kept a food diary for years. Wanna know what I ate on this date in 2007? I could tell you. I do use the quick add feature at times though, mostly when I'm out to eat or with friends and I don't want them to know I'm writing it down. I need to count calories. If I couldn't count calories I…
  • I don't have a cheat day but then I don't really like to eat. Does that make sense? I eat crap because if I ever HAVE TO eat, then it takes something to motivate me to stop and eat. I think if you enjoy eating, as an activity, you're a "foodie" you should have a cheat day. Be healthy, but be happy.
  • Sounds like low blood sugar. Keep some lifesavers handy for emergencies. Skipping meals and eating too few calories can be the cause.
  • Check out my diary, I am not a "healthy" eater. Try your best to make healthy choices but really it's all about calories.
  • I would love to be your friend. Feel free to add.
  • I'm very petite 5'2"/ 95 lbs and my thighs are still 16". I have stubby little legs.
  • When my husband and I (13 years May 28th) first started dating I had similar feelings. I was skinny but not cut, not in shape and kind of blah. I felt like I wasn't good enough. I'm not very pretty but there's nothing I could really do about that but I could work out. At first I had hoped it would completely change the way…
  • I take TRX classes a few times a month. I've gotten pretty good at it. I still enjoy it but at the moment I'm on a bootcamp kick.

  • If you have an iPhone download ifitness. As you approach a machine find it on the list and it will take you step by step through its proper use. You can even download videos. It will appear that you're just checking your iPod and changing the music. Or, take a bootcamp class or whatever your gym offers using free weights.
  • I have horrible cholesterol. My doctor said that because my good & bad are both high, I work out regularly, and I'm underweight it is probably genetic. But because I'm adopted I can't exactly ask my parents about their cholesterol levels. I don't eat even my daily allounce of colosterol, but I do have to watch my saturated…
  • I understand where you're coming from. I'm very petite but sometimes need to quickly drop a few pounds for an audition. Changing up the workout helps.
  • I think that you're fine on training time. I did my first full this past October. I had an official running coach and then used several apps from itunes to help me. Just don't over think it. Keep adding miles (my longest run before the marathon was 20 miles) but don't wake up and think "Oh my gosh, I'm running 20 miles…
