  • Yeah kids definitely don't lie about that stuff. And they don't lie in a very loud voice, mostly. :grumble:
  • Any room for me here? I'm definitely over 200, lol! :blushing: This past week didn't go that great for me :grumble: so I can definitely use some motivation! Thanks, Leslie
  • Bumping for me! :drinker:
  • OMG I would have written almost exactly the same things! Seriously! Ditto for me too!
  • Lol. It takes a LOT to run when you weigh 250! But I decided if the girls bigger than me can run on the Biggest Loser, then I should be able to too!
  • Wow, that's amazing! Nice work! :glasses: Can you teach me some of that? I only just ran 4 minutes at one time on the treadmill this week, lol!
  • Yeah, sorry for the rambling. I have a lot of feelings and opinions about the scale, as you may be able to tell. Thanks for breaking it down... it IS a lot easier to read that way, lol!
  • I agree 100%. In fact, I attribute getting on the scale too often to my most recent failed weight loss attempt. It started with once a week, then went to once a day, then multiple times per day. I would tell myself that I was doing it "just out of curiosity." But apparently it really did affect me. I would tell myself that…
  • Umm.. NEVER too early for Sangria! Yummy yummy yummy! Pass a glass my way please! :drinker: *Mouth is watering...* After all, it's 5:00 somewhere, right?
  • Wow, a belly dancing class? Awesome! I could never do that. Good luck with it. Sounds like a great workout. As for me, I'm not exactly sure what made that "switch" go off in my head. I guess the fact that I'm almost 28 (in 2 more days, ugh!), and this is not what I want to be like when I hit 30! I'm looking forward to…
  • Thanks again to all who replied. It was nice to go back and read this and really *believe* it this time, now that I'm in a better mindset. It's nice to be able to relate to others that have been or are closer to my size than the smallish people I see everywhere I look, only needing to lose 5 pounds. I respect them for…
  • I am a recent hummus convert as well! I love it too! I especially like the spicy ones :) I dip carrots in it because I don't want to use that many calories on chips. I think I'm becoming stingy with my calories, lol!
  • Wow, I bet that's hard. I think I would have to start off by saying: "Look, I know I may not look like the best person to tell you about this, but..." At least now that I'm actually losing weight, I can talk about that. And maybe the patient can identify with you, since you can tell them that you struggle with it too, and…

  • Hooray! Nice work! :drinker: :flowerforyou: Keep it up girl!!!:glasses:
  • Kyra, I'm in nursing school right now! Do you feel like a hypocrite? I sure do! How can I tell a patient what to eat or not to eat when clearly I haven't been in control of my own body?!? I'm glad I haven't had to do any patient education regarding that yet...:blushing: Good luck... I know we all can do it!

  • I'm an "every-emotion" eater too! Fear not - it is definitely possible! Not that I've lost all that much yet (this time), but I would say to try and focus each day on what you need to do to work toward your goal. Set short-term goals, and work in rewards for yourself when you meet them (just not food rewards!). My biggest…

  • And thanks for the encouragement everyone! I hope it helps someone else who is struggling!
  • Great job on sticking with it so far! We can totally do this!
  • Thanks! Best of luck to you too!
  • I am right there with you. Just posted a topic basically conveying the same sentiments. Congrats, and keep up the good work! :drinker:
  • Hi all. Just wanted to share a small, if not all that measurable, success that I've had. For whatever reason, and I'm not exactly sure what it is "this time," I think I'm finally understanding how to make this weight loss stuff work for me. I've been at it for 6 weeks now (this time, lol), and my goal has simply been to…
  • Congrats on all the awesome work! You look amazing! But then again, I think you looked really beautiful before too. I don't think many people are fortunate enough to look that good at 200 pounds. Nice job! :flowerforyou:
  • Doesn't that feel great! It may be a small victory, but I know that small victory feels really big! Keep up the good work!
  • That is horrible (about the inconvenient request for veggies)! My step daughter is in a similar situation. She's a little overweight, but she wants to slim down a bit, or at least be a little healthier. But we only see her 4 days a month. She eats pretty healthily over here, and we go to the gym together. But her mom…
  • Isn't it frustrating the way these places don't feel obligated to provide us with proper nutrition information? :grumble: I get really upset trying to figure out if I can even eat something that I haven't prepared myself because if you don't make it yourself, you really DON'T know what's in it! Unless they just provide a…
  • I understand exactly what you mean! I will find every excuse in the world not to go, just like I did today. Once I get to the gym, I'm totally fine. It's just that I really dread going sometimes!
  • Just updating this... you can see that I lost 11 pounds. Did that in a month, which was good to me :) Honestly, though, when people ask how, I do not mention the shakes. I know it only has to do with calories in versus calories out, and however people manage to stick with that (within reason), is what makes it work.

  • I work at Sheetz (in NC), and I think that's one of the coolest features. You build your food or drink just the same way you do when you order it in the store (which I love also), and you can see all the nutrition info for each item. I usually do that when I know I need to eat a meal there. The only real problem is all the…
  • Amazing news! So happy that you're off to such a wonderful start! :drinker: Glad to hear that your hubby is reaping some benefits too :blushing: My hubby needs to have a "revelation" like the one you've had, lol! Keep it up!
  • I have been doing the herbalife shakes for almost a month now. I like them for a convenient breakfast option. The only thing I would be leery of is the "coach" you have to talk to every so often. Mine is a complete idiot. I am a nursing student, and I've taken a nutrition class, so I know a little bit about nutrition. This…
