Is that based on something, or are you guys just pulling a number out of thin air?

I'm not marathoner, but a) why would you want to run that much with a messed up knee, and b) I think that would be an overly ambitious goal. I'd start out with a 13-16 week plan to get you up to a 10k, then see how you feel and go from there. From what I understand you need a year or two of steady running under your belt…

This guy didn't do "research", he did speculation and then wrote a book about it. He's been discredited. Google it.

I'm not saying you shouldn't drink water, I'm saying that the "rule" about 8 glasses a day is a myth. It's just an arbitrary number than doesn't take into account your body size, environment, level of activity, or the amount of water contained in the food you eat. --The "8 glasses a day" thing came from a study done in the…

The 8 glasses a day thing is a myth. There's no science behind it at all. Drink when you're thirsty. Yes, coffee and tea count.

Tell me what to do with beef liver! I've had some in my freezer for a month now. I'm trying to eat this way more and more. I've started getting as much as I can from farmers' markets, and I'm trying to avoid eating anything with a barcode. I just found a local source for raw milk that I'm going to check out tomorrow. Are…

I have a bunch of pyrex containers, so I just load them up with each day's breakfast or lunch. Helps a lot. Sometimes I boil a dozen eggs and keep them in the fridge. They last a couple weeks. I get…

Fat is good for you, as long as it's coming from the right sources. Make sure your meats are organic and grass-fed (beef/lamb) or pastured (poultry). The fat from these animals will be much better for you than grain-fed animals. Also try meats from "wild" animals, like bison, venison, elk.

Go to a grocery that sells stuff from bulk bins. Pick a few different types of nuts that you like, and take a scoop of each. Also get some raisins or other dried fruit just to make it a little sweet. Stay away from all the M&M's and stuff like that, though. Put it all together and make trail mix. Keep some in your car,…

Stay away from any vegetable oils, including canola. Use olive oil, coconut oil, or butter from grass-fed cows. Personally I use butter, makes the eggs taste great and you get a nice dose of healthy fats.
