  • i have a few friends with PCOS who are quite obsese and struggle so much - my hat is off to you by wanting to take preventative steps & avoid the heartbreak and stress that comes with a lot of extra weight. Sounds like you are doing what's best for you, your body, and your health. Sometimes we just have to block out other…
  • Diagnosed back in 2001 but have discovered on my own through various food elimination that I am likely sensitive to gluten. It was through researching lactose intolerance (s/t else that I figured out was an issue this last year) that I even discovered that might be an explanation for my digestive problems. Why no physician…

  • Its a popular video workout by Jillian Michaels. Depending on where you live (i.e. in the US) you might be able to pick it up at a local Target or Walmart for $9 or $10. That and a couple hand weights and 28 mins a day is all you need. If you can find the dvd, you should def consider joining in :flowerforyou:
  • YAY!! I've started on Level 1 since I won't be doing it 7 days a week, not as hard this time around and I'm hoping I can stick through all the way this go 'round :grumble: looking forward to shredding like crazy with everyone AND getting to comiserate over our collective frustration/hatred of JM
  • i hope you can get through this week without too much fretting over not having the scale. you are doing a GREAT JOB & i have total faith you can stick to your good eating habits. fwiw i went away on vacation and was pretty freaked for the first couple days that i didn't have my food scale & was eating out more than i would…
  • Kristina - I posted my weight last week but it must have gotten lost in the shuffle! It was 231.4 this week: 228.8 thx :) I'm way behind on posts and posting because I'm in the last week of studying for the LSAT. More or less living with my head in my books & practice tests and only taking breaks to eat, sleep, exercise,…
  • Congrats!! that has got to feel amazing. You have a fab attitude, keep it going :flowerforyou:
  • Its a terrific energy booster imo so if you think you can manage in the morning, I say go for it.
  • I would love to join you! I picked it back up this week with the intent of finishing for once :P I know I will be be taking at least 1 day off a week for recovery purposes, and likely a second day b/c of my other workouts... so I'll be looking to finish sometime at the end of Oct or beginning of Nov. I'm excited to try…

Give your body some time to acclimate to the changes you are making and yourself time to enjoy your friend visiting :) things will turn around. • pffft, that guy who msgd you can stuff it! when i first did 30DS I was both skeptical about potential results and worried about my ability to perform any of the exercises because of my fitness level & weight (around 238) . After only 1 week I had lost what I consider to be a significant amt of inches overall. Mixing it…
  • I don't use facebook but I'm all for people incorporating it if it will help  long week, glad the weekend arrived to offer a respite! i'm struggling with eating enough when i exercise later in the day. i tend to underestimate how much i will burn so i end up with an overall deficit that's higher than i'd like.…

  • I hope everyone has had a great or at least fairly good weekend? Question: I want to make sure I understand the weigh in standards for the group. Is it two times a week, on mon & fri? or is it one or the other? being new its a little daunting trying to keep up (and catch up) with everyone & what is going on but i'm going…
  • I chose my goal weight based on where I was in HS (around 150-155) but wasn't as healthy or as fit as I plan to be when I shed the weight this time. My first impulse was to go for 145 but I didn't want to set it too low and feel badly about myself if I wasn't able to reach it... which is why I'm going to reevaluate where…
  • Hi Kristina - :blushing: my post was more rambly than i realized but i figure if i'm going to jump in, why not jump in the whole way? lol Did you go to grad school for Psych? I've had a couple friends do that, one for her MA and the other for her PhD. Its a long road but can be very fulfilling. Yep, 233.8 is my start…
  • *waves* Hi! My name is Fi, and I'd really love to join you all on this epic journey you are taking together. I've read through only part of the thread so far and am just astounded by the level communication/the openness/support you all show. I find myself yearning to have a place to 'be' while on MFP. Not to say the boards…
  • i certainly hope they come around and become believers but if not i'm glad you have MFP and the people here to rally/support you
  • I definitely have the support of my S/O and my mom (the people I see the most). My S/O was on a great get-healthy kick for a while, doing P90X every day and eating better and was always encouraging me to join him except I wasn't quite ready yet... Now he's the one struggling while I'm gun-ho on changing my life, so our…
  • that sounds like a good idea! i know when i first started the 30DS I took my msmts b/c other people were saying they already noticed a diff within a few days. I did mine after 1 week and there was definitely a shift - its uplifting when that happens! hoping i can make it through this time as i'm still trying to shake…
  • hi Meghan! we're pretty close (my stats are in my sig & a post above) :)
