Whether or not you tan is a very personal choice I think people should be able to make for themselves. That said, I get a tan every summer due to going to the beach regularly. My acne improves as does my eczema. I have stretch marks (around my hips from puberty) and they look white and absolutely glow against tanned skin.I…

1. Gym membership. 2. iPod nano. It clips on to my gym clothes! 3. Measuring tape, so I can track my progress in inches lost instead of pounds. I just ordered a Polar FT4 HRM (for under $60!), and I'm hoping to love it half as much as everyone else seems to.

You might want to check out http://www.mybodygallery.com/ . You can enter in your height, goal weight, and body type and get examples of how people look with your those measurements.

I don't like regular yogurt at all, but I'm a huge fan of greek yogurt, which tastes better and keeps me full for hours. If I'm in a hurry in the mornings, my go-to foods are: apples, bananas, toast, peanut butter, and greek yogurt.

...and that's why you hear dolphin noises.

I usually eat first thing in the morning, then a little before noon, then mid-afternoon, then around 7pm, and sometimes add a snack at a random point if I'm hungry for it. I feel like I eat all day long. I log my meals on mpf as: one two three four other

If it is true heat rash, maybe something to cool the skin under your bra? You could try small gel ice packs or frozen wet washcloths.

What a difference! I also think it speaks volumes that you're going from capris to that cute little pair of shorts. Keep up the good work!

The site offers to reset your goals if you've lost 10 or more pounds since they were calculated. You could do it more often, but I wouldn't recommend doing it less often than that.

I love summer, and I have so many things I'm looking forward to this year. -Wearing shorts and tank tops everyday -Wearing a bikini at the beach, and not caring if one of my friends brought a camera. -The farmers market =Pool parties, where I won't be too self-conscious to enjoy myself -Road trips, which include lots of…

How incredibly kind so many of the members are here. So many people clearly want otherwise perfect strangers to have happiness and success.

Thanks for sharing!

That's awesome! That can be such a great motivator. When you're feeling discouraged, just look at your hands. Keep it up!

The idea that thin people always give great diet and wellness advice, and heavier people know nothing. A lot of heavier people have been on a healthy road for a long time, but just haven't hit their ideal weight. Many skinnier people are naturally that way, and have never had to think to much about reaching or maintaining…

I love making this! I add a tablespoon of cocoa powder and it makes it a really rich chocolate flavor for just a few more a calories.

You are NOT a failure. Admitting your problem, joining a gym, and getting in a hard workout have nothing to do with failure. That 20 minutes will get easier overtime, and turn into 25, then 30 before you know it, but only if you stick with it and keep pushing yourself. There are people on this site that lost way more than…

It's true the more fit and tan you are, the less noticeable it is, but I would't worry too much about whether or not yours shows. Roughly 80% to 90% of women have cellulite. None us should feel ashamed of something that's pretty much just part of being a woman. I'm not overweight, most of my workouts target my legs, I tan,…

I typically wear no make-up except for mascara. I'm really big on following a skin care regimen and always wear sunscreen, so I don't feel like I need foundation on a daily basis. As far as clothes go, it really varies depending on the weather and my mood, though my go-to piece of clothing is a pair of dark skinny jeans. I…

I would go to the gym too. A crappy workout always beats no workout. If you're still craving ice cream, pick up some bananas and make this: http://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-creamy-ice-cream-w-93414 I made it today instead of picking up a sweet at the bakery. I like to add cocoa powder to make it chocolate flavored for…

The words they used wouldn't upset me, but I hate to be botheted while I'm working out.

I'm moving to a different part of the country in August (for school), and I love the idea that people there never have to know me as a chubby girl.

$25 per semester (pool use included, classes extra) no contract Community College's Fitness and Aquatics Center

Always. I use my college's rec center and usually have to go to class right after, and not showering first feels completely gross. If I'm not headed back to class, I still shower there because water is insanely expensive where I live. I'm jealous of all of you that seem to have spas for locker rooms! Mine is a basic as it…

Congrats on your NSV! I remember my certification course being pretty tough at times, but so rewarding. I've never met anyone that managed to try diving and not fall completely in love with it. Good luck with your certification, and enjoy diving safely!

5' 2" with about 10 lbs to go here! I would suggest you work on losing slowly (no more than 1lb a week). Short girls can't eat a ton to begin with, so a large calorie deficit can make weight loss miserable. If you're not hungry all the time you'll have a much easier time sticking to your plan, and transitioning into…

Calorie counting works for everyone that does it correctly. A few years ago my parents and I all lost a significant amount of weight just counting carbs. None could seem to lose all of our excess weight. I maintained the weight until I came here and started losing the last 20 pounds I could never seem to touch with low…

I'm 5' 2", net around 1500, and I eat my exercise calories. I'm happily losing my last ten pounds slowly. I never go hungry, I never feel deprived, and I know I'll actually be able to transition into maintenance without gaining back all I lost and more.

Great nsv! Going from pants to that years first pair of shorts can be daunting for the bravest of us.

You look beautiful! I'm 5' 2" and looking to get down to 125-120, and I just hope I look as half as good as you at 122. Enjoy your fabulous new figure!

Canned food and sodas work too. If you want something heavier, get creative and see if you can fill water bottles with something that weighs more per bottle-full than water.
