Wow, that's awesome! What type of strength training routine are you doing? I still have at least 25 lbs to lose, but I was just despairing that my mommy tummy doesn't seem to be budging. Right now I am doing body pump once a week and it is making a difference in my arms. Hopefully I will start seeing some changes in the…

Oops, just kidding, forgot one: 3/27: 2.0 miles walk/run Think I will take off for April and come back in May--hope everyone has a great month!
-
OK, final entries: 3/30: 2.75 mi walking 3/31: 2.6 mi run/walk Nowhere near my goal, but better than February, so I will take it.

:flowerforyou: Your post is all kinds of awesome, and brings back those blech memories for me (my youngest is 4 now). I think you have a great plan, and hope you enjoy your walks in the non-murdery parks. Feel free to add me--I am on here regularly and try to be supportive. Haven't done the brown sugar out of the bag…

Kids wouldn't cooperate last night, but still got 2.25 in total (part on the elliptical after they were in bed!)
-
Oooh, ooh, what kind did you get? In for running shoe porn...

I would just write it off as a bad run and keep going. We all have those days. Make sure you are hydrated. And I am impressed that you went out at all in that kind of weather--I am a wimp and am firmly attached to the treadmill until it is warm out! I had a crap run last night, too, but it was because my 4 year old…

WTG! You look great!! I am a slow runner, too (4.4 mph on treadmill), but I never thought I would be able to run, either. I am in the last week of c25k and it is still amazing to me what my body can do.

So my RAWRRR is a little different: Sorry, wish it was an action pic. I just started jumping at the end of last year, and I LOVE it! Was so happy after my lesson last night that I couldn't sleep for being on cloud nine!

Ditto, although I don't quite have the muscles she has (yet!)

Does she have a pasture buddy? Our horses (that got along) would often stand side by side, head to tail, and swat flies for each other. Of course her buddy will be getting the short-end of that deal. Other than that I would just be super vigilant about fly spray. I would think that braiding in the fly strings would work. I…

Couch to 5k. If the beginning seems to easy (since you are already working out pretty hard), skip ahead to where it feels right--tough, but not impossible. Make sure you get good running shoes first (I didn't and had achy knees at first). Take it slow, ease off if you feel pain, take more rest days if you need to. There is…

Still struggling to get my groove back after a disastrous February. Although what is getting in the way now is my other workouts--horseback riding and weight training--so that is better than sitting on the couch. 3/18: 2.65 mi run 3/24: 2.8 mi run

This is so true. A lot of these responses show the misinformation. I just started doing a "power" class that does barbells and weights. After class an older lady told me I used too heavy a weight for the shoulder exercises (I was struggling at the end--trying to challenge myself and would rather fail the last reps rather…

Me too, although I didn't buy it--my mom kept my prom dress (from over 20 years ago!) I just hung it in my closet. I can currently get it on, but no where near zipping. I started at a size 18, currently at a 12--pretty sure the dress is a small 10, so I am getting closer!

I used to stress eat nearly every night--after my kids went to bed (they stress me out almost daily). Things that work for me: looking at my diary/calorie allotment to remind myself I don't have room; making sure I do have room for some sort of treat and planning for it; having a nice cup of tea with splenda instead of ice…

I add it to my oatmeal after cooking, and that avoids the nasty clumping.
-
I think someone already suggested this, but try the flavored sparkling waters. I find that they satisfy my craving for "sweet and bubbly" without the caffeine or sugar of a coke. I do still drink one diet soda a day, though.
-
I would think this, especially since you list your goal as getting strong. Maybe focus less on the scale and food, and more on workouts--set fitness goals and achieve them. I find that motivates me when the tracking/logging/weighing gets to be a grind.
-
Oh, and there is of course subway or blimpie's--if you order right you can get a low calorie sandwich.
-
Breakfast: McD's has the egg mcmuffin, and I think a new egg white mcmuffin, and oatmeal. Dunkin Donuts has flatbread egg sandwiches. Lunch/dinner: Chick Fil A--grilled chicken sandwich or salad. Can get a side of apples or side salad. Wendy's: grilled chicken sandwich or half salad. McD's: southwestern grilled chicken…

Just for today: I will listen to how my body feels and respond the way I should, not the way I want to.

My sister saw me a couple weeks ago for the first time since T'giving, and her first words were, "Oh my God, you've gotten skinny!" I am nowhere near skinny, but I am thinner than I have been in over 10 years, and it feels great!
-
"The first 5 minutes always suck--it'll get better" and "I can do this for 2 more minutes. I can stand anything for 2 minutes." Or I picture myself horseback riding and think how I don't want to be huffing and out of breath, so I better put the effort in now.

You are an inspiration! Great job!! :flowerforyou:

This, so much this. Write down some goals/dreams. Do they seem too hard to achieve? Then break them into smaller steps. Make those first steps your first goals. The best way to improve your self-esteem is to reach those goals. When you do, pat yourself on the back. Keep telling yourself that you can do it, because you can.…

Thank you! I have to constantly remind myself to run my own race. Just this morning I was feeling a little down about my slow losses. But I have lost, plan to keep doing so, and know I will hit my goal eventually. I am just living my life, too, while doing it.

ITA with this. I find it very difficult to concentrate on form if I am already spent from cardio. Last week I ran a mile before a weight training class and it was a disaster--I didn't get nearly the benefit from the class that I should have.

This. And it does get easier. I never believed it, started and stopped exercising many times, but finally it is easier. I started a walking program to walk a 5k. Then I started running (me, who thought I was going to die from just walking!). Now I am on the last week of the c25k and planning to run a 5k soon. You can do…

I just did week 8 day 3 yesterday. I am excited to finally be moving on to week 9 and hopefully graduating! I started at the beginning of December, so the 9 week program has been a lot longer for me. But I never ever ever thought I could run for even 5 minutes straight due to my asthma, never mind the 28 minutes I did…
