Great article--thanks! I need to spend more time thinking about why I want things and visualizing the practicing part.

Yep, that's exactly what happened to me. I was so excited by the changes in my body I stuck with it, but it was frustrating. In reality it only lasted 2-3 weeks, but I get frustrated easily so I was going a little crazy toward the end. I started steadily losing again (well, until Christmas glutttony took over).

Good job! Wish I had known about the pre-c25k. I am on week 3 and have had to repeat 1 day (due to asthma issues). I eased into the program by working my way up walking, though--I couldn't even walk briskly for 3 miles back in June when I started. Keep it up!!

Your experience sounds similar to mine--I just took a lesson two months ago for my first ride in 7+ years. Hurt for almost a week! I do lessons at a suburban barn too. Ditto previous poster on the jumping--I am slowly learning how and it (plus lots of posting) is getting me in shape. I rode walking horses for years so the…

Finish C25K (starting week 3 today!) Start (and finish!) Body by You (already downloaded onto my phone) Continue to progress in horseback riding until I am actually jumping 2'+ fences (just jumped crossrails last week for the first time) Compete at a horse show this summer. Maybe. Continue weight (fat) loss--want…

I stupidly created my January ticker then realized I hadn't logged the last of my December miles. :blushing: 12/31: 2.5 miles Total December miles: 30.33; goal: 30 miles :drinker:

It felt so great to meet my 30 mile goal in December! Shooting for 50 miles this month.

SW: (Starting weight) 230 (highest weight, I think) CW: (Current weight) 195.6 (up 5 lbs due to Xmas and NYE) GW: (Goal weight for the month) 190.6 Goals this month: 50 miles walk/run/bike; log everything and stay in my calorie limit.

5 lbs as of today's weigh in, but some of it (2-3 lbs) is water. I plan to be back where I was before Christmas by the end of January.

12/30: 1.83 Was hoping to get in a jog/run/walk today, but not looking likely due to serious DOMS and schedule issues. Hoping tomorrow to hit the ultimate goal!!!

I am down 23 lbs from last year (started trying to lose in July). Now my pants that were too tight are falling off! Still a long way to go, but I plan to keep on losing next year. Not only have I lost weight, but I have joined a gym, returned to horseback riding after 7+ years away, and begun the c25k program. I just…

Oatmeal and almond milk is what I have for breakfast most days--I usually add frozen blueberries and cinnamon, and brown sugar splenda. Have also done peanut butter, protein powder, sweetened coconut flakes, chocolate chips, pecans (with the cinnamon and brown sugar tastes like a cinnamon roll!). I love my oatmeal! The WW…

Thanks!!!

Eh, I'm up 2.4 lbs. Some of it is water retention from drinking booze, but I have in laws visiting, so I don't plan on stepping away from the bottle quite yet. I have been tracking and been consistently over. But I have been exercising and plan to continue, which is a win in my book. Will buckle down next week (except for…

* Continue my weight loss. I am not going to set a specific number, as it will just disappoint me if i don't hit it. I am down 39 lbs total (22 lbs for 2013) and have approximately 36 to go. Give or take. * Hit 50 miles in January. I set a goal of 30 miles (walking, running, and stationary bike) for December, and I should…

The lawyers. As it is in every class action.

Please reconsider the inhaler--you should always carry a rescue inhaler with you. People die from asthma attacks. I am not trying to be a scare monger, but at the very least you could damage your lungs by refusing to use medication. I have exercise-induced asthma, and have never been able to run, even when I was a normal…

This is awesome. Bravo!

Hunger. When I got to about this point before, I had no exercise routine, had lost muscle mass, and was hungry all the time. I got frustrated, decided losing more wasn't possible, and gained 20 lbs back (not the whole 35 I originally lost). This time around, I still get hungry sometimes, but I know it isn't an emergency…

I set a goal at the end of October to lose 9 lbs by Xmas. I am down 8.2 lbs today, so only 0.8 to go! I will weigh again Xmas Eve, but not stressing if I don't hit it on the nose--it is close enough to make me happy!

12/19: 2.25 miles

Oh. My. Word. This sounds like heaven on a plate (although I might skip the ketchup).

This. Exactly. Bacon is God's perfect food.

Merry Christmas, and thank you for sharing your story! You and your family are beautiful.

As a fellow numbers person who also struggles with exercise, I would suggest using an app where you can track your goals, whatever they may be (for me I originally signed up for a 5k walk--yes, walk, I was really out of shape--and really liked seeing my times improve). I am still using that app, map my run, and am trying…

I have exercise induced asthma and I first noticed it when running in cold air. I just try to limit my exercise outdoors on cold days, as well as those with a lot of smog in the summer. Have you tried using a rescue inhaler (albuterol or the like) 15-20 min before exercising outside? That offers me some relief.
