Oh, I tried foxhunting back in March and loved it so much I decided to join a hunt! Even though I don't have a horse, which is probably silly. I plan to beg, borrow, or lease to do it. I've had horses go sour on ring-type stuff. I think a break does a ton of good. Tally-ho!!

She may settle down some on her own, too, once she realizes he isn't going to get the job done! Good luck! This is one of the reasons why I am leaning towards getting a gelding. But then I think of sheath cleaning...

Ok, final numbers: 6/30: 2.5 mi 6/27: 2.6 mi 6/24: 1.5 mi

Oh, I'm sorry you had a rough week, too. Hope this one will be better! Maybe the little break did him good--sometimes it is just the thing when you've been working hard.

So I've mostly been lurking this thread, as I have almost zero experience with jumping and nothing significant to add. I enjoy reading what everyone else is up to, though! @luckypony, if it looks like a trot but is smooth it could be a foxtrot. (I rode walking horses growing up.) Foxtrotters have just a slight hesitation…

Terrible weekend. Can no longer party like a 21 year old; I just wish I could remember that when I am out having fun. :blushing: 6/23: 2.24 mi Hope to get some more miles in today.

Tough week: 6/19: 2 mi run 6/18: 1.34 walk

I don't do low carb (tried it once, had terrible stomach issues), but I have 20 lbs left. I also have two small boys and a full time job, so I know about the juggling struggle! I got "dunked" and am trying to focus more on body fat reduction than weight, although I think my fitness routine is getting stale. Feel free to…

I started not too far from where you are, and I have never lost more than 1.5 lbs a week. And those type of losses were usually after being stuck; I have averaged a pound a week for most of my weight loss, and the last three months that has slowed to 0.5 lbs a week. The only thing to worry about on losing slowly is getting…

QFT ---> also an INTJ (and I hate to feed into the drama that this post was looking for, but I just wanted to high five VelveteenArab!)

So was I, and that really surprised me. My first instinct was that body, but I looked again at the legs and sized it way up.

+2 I am staying away from the whole ball gag convo, but wanted to say that if you have/get a trailer, you could possibly trailer into another barn for lessons on cowboy dressage. That might be a little less uncomfortable than having the trainer come to your property. A lot of the trainers around here (Georgia) accept…

Taking the high road in a romantic relationship is only going to work if it is the road out of there.

This times two. I don't need random acquaintances to stroke my ego. And I think it is nearly as rude to comment on weight loss as on weight gain--neither are any of my business, and if I don't know the person well, could be due to unfortunate circumstances (like illness) rather than diet/exercise. It is different if it is…

We had a broodmare who was so afraid of donkeys she jumped out of the fence to get away from them! I haven't gotten to ride in the last week plus until yesterday, and didn't get to jump b/c I don't trust that horse (my usual is still not doing well). He got a little spooky on me, but I got him through it. I am envious of…

Your office is stupid--you could've gotten a free doughnut tomorrow on National Doughnut Day. Guess you'll have to go back...

Ah, to be 20 again and know it all. Must be nice to be a weight loss expert after losing 21 whole pounds.

Yoga is great for recovery, too. And please take a rest day or two for your body! I recently had a fall too (what I get for kicking out of the stirrups thinking he had settled down). I took a couple days completely off and then eased back in with walking and yoga. Swimming was a great suggestion, too, I will keep that in…

This. If I have the kids, I have got to get them to bed before I can think of eating dinner or taking a shower. And usually dinner takes precedence.

Well, if you are feeling lazy, you can just throw some black beans, cheese, and taco seasoning in a tortilla. Heat in a skillet and top with salsa.

I realized on the treadmill at the gym that my pants had almost slipped off my rear. They were my fat capris--only thing clean--which is not a good idea with satin undies. (Luckily my shirt was long.) So I hiked them up and tied 'em in a knot, without stopping my run. Was much more difficult than it sounds and I got some…

Here it is June, and I am still trying to meet a 50 miles per month goal that I originally set in January. Maybe my persistence will pay off this month... :ohwell:
-
Ran 2.94 on 5/30. I think I am behind on logging, but my ticker is up to date. I am trying again in June--I will hit 50 miles in a month this year if it kills me!

I second the body pump and yoga/pilates recommendation. That is what I am doing and I am very happy with the results I have gotten so far. I make sure to push myself in body pump to failure as much as possible, so that it is more resistance and less cardio-ish.
-
I log it under the listing for body pump in cardio, but half the burn (which is actually what I do for all my cardio).

Guinness: so glad you got a good ride on the trails! MissMissle - hope you get the all clear soon! Luckypony - I have been wondering how your ride went and was hoping for an update from the other thread. That's great! Sounds like you are on the right path! Pip - good job on the rodeo riding. I always feel so accomplished…

I would recommend that you check out FLY lady. She has an awesome website, sends emails with daily tasks, and helps you get on a schedule to keep clean. FLY stands for "finally loving yourself", which I think is an great way to look at it. I don't follow her program religiously, but some of her hints have stuck with…
