Low sugar protein powder with 1 cup low fat almond milk. I use a chocolate one and it's 162 calories total, if I use vanilla it's 155. The protein after the workout is good for you too. Or, as my kin student daughter tells me... apparently low-fat chocolate milk (regular or soy) is a good post workout drink/snack too.

Today's numbers: 7.1 km = 4.41 miles Totals this week: 11.46 km = 7.12 miles

We don't have Trader Joes around here either. I put vanilla protein powder into my oatmeal already so I'm going to try adding the puree and spices next time.

you'd need gelato or sorbet and gluten-free beer, lol And it's supposed to be cold this weekend so that will help :o

We're on our third election in less than a year (municipal last October, federal in May and provincial next week). Ton's of signs and attack ads that start months before the actual "election campaign period". Now there are even automated phone calls to go with candidates going door to door. I vote in advance polls and work…

I cook batches for food for my daughter at university. Cook it up in a slowcooker and then freeze in batches. Stews, & chili freeze well and you can control what you put in it. With the chili, I even make a 'red' one and a 'white' one. Basically they are both: 2lb lean ground meat, 2-14oz cans kidney beans, 1 28oz can or…

may be my age, but after a couple of months, I'm still waiting for it to "calm down", lol

I've seen $65-90/hour around here (which is why I don't have one)

Canucks and Leafs fan for the hockey. Argos/Lions fan for the CFL (which will make tomorrow night so much fun). In fact I will be at two football games in a weekend. CFL Friday, and then off to London for the season opener for the Mustangs and the return of the Warriors. Woohoo!

Yes to both except that I follow the CFL and Canadian University Football, and only watch NFL after they're done (which is usually just before the NFL gets into playoffs.

If you buy any frozen/canned/processed foods, read the labels (ingredients, calories, sugar, sodium content, etc), and buy the best quality you can afford. Better to have a little of good quality, than lots of less good quality. And sometimes low-fat/low-calorie items replace the fat/calories with salt or other not so good…

I'm not a doctor either, but flip flops can be causing the pain. And you're right, wearing them 99% of the time really isn't good for your feet, especially the cheap ones. Try some that come with support (addidas, sketchers etc) although they will be more expensive. You might find some season end sales. A very good pair of…

Have you checked online? Restaurants (especially big chains) are may have nutrition info posted there. I've also looked online, before I go out, to see what the menus are like. I may even try to calculate the approx calorie count and then try to pre-decide what I will eat. (I look at what is in the menu item, and recreate…

Sure, why not. Two suggestions that might help reduce some of those calories: 1. The better tasting the coffee to begin with, the less you have to fix it up. Like wine, there are all sorts of coffees out there. Go to some coffee shops that sell multiple types and ask for samples. Some may even have "coffee tastings". You…
