  • Well done. On monday I thought I was sugar crashing, my friends, bless 'em, bought me a Snickers bar and a bar of Galaxy with fruit and nut, these types of things I used to eat without a second thought, but I looked at them, said thanks and promptly put them downstairs with a post it note for my flatmate and her boyfriend…
  • Extra protein and extra fiber will not do any harm at all. In fact if you're working out a lot you'll want that extra protein anyway. Your body knows what to do with it never fear.
  • 71kg? I would say that Serenifly is right. It's probably lean muscle mass and water weight, at your size I would personally say dump the scales and worry about how you look, feel and how the clothes fit. Don't fret over small changes. If you are still putting on 1kg in another 3 months then start to look at what you are…
  • Been doing it properly since Monday. Lots more water, sensible intake of food and more walking. It's amazing the difference I feel in myself already :) Keep it up!
  • "Nah I still have loads to go" That's right now. When I've lost more it'll probably be 'thanks' with more info if they ask :)
  • I don't weigh myself every day, I weigh myself once a week. I find that if I stress about it every day and the numbers aren't always positive it becomes easier to 'fall of the wagon' so to speak. Once a week is enough.
  • Breakfast - Worth having some pasta before you get started, Pasta for breakfast sounds odd but it will fill you up and keep you full for a while, don't overdo it though. Snacks - Banana's. They are a miracle fruit. Slow release energy that really helps your body. Plenty of water. If you eat during the walk proper then…
  • I love that after only a week of looking after myself my mindset is so positive. I'm not craving anything and I can already feel my body responding to what I'm doing to it. Now I bet I get on the scales on monday and I haven't lost lol...
  • I end up drinking quite a lot of fluids. At the moment I'm getting a 1.5ltr of bottled water on the way to work, drinking it, and then having a couple of 500ml glasses of water on top of that. Killeen I think the reason is we process (sweat out, lose through going to the toilet) per day so it needs replacing.
  • A good few years ago when I decided to go on what I now call a 'mental' diet I had so many physical problems it wasn't even funny. I had dizzy spells I was lethargic (but forced myself to work out) I had the shakes I had nasty headaches Most of this was down to the fact that I was eating: 1 wholemeal roll with sliced…
  • Hey. What type of training are you doing? If you're doing lots of weights then I suggest cutting down and slotting in some extra cardio on top of what you are doing, or maybe something a little different, have you tried boxing? Most gyms do it now and it's a great way to tone up.
  • So far I have to say the more I've used it the more I'm impressed. Really good site, really good app (with a few bugs but nothing serious). Great stuff. If there's only one thing I'd suggest is that the weights of portions are shown :) for example if you choose wholemeal bread 1 slice, it doesn't say wether it's half loaf…
  • My twopence is to say. Stop weighing yourself so often. As long as you are sticking to your plan, not cheating and doing what's right the fat will come off. I'd say once a week should be the most you weigh yourself and at the same time each weigh in, that way your body should be more balanced. A lot of things can affect…
  • I want to lose weight (and get fit) because: - I feel uncomfortable in my skin. I want that to change. - I'm racing towards 40 and I realise that's the time health problems can start kicking in. - I've been watching 'Biggest Loser' and I want those feelings :) - I want to be able to play with my best friends kid without…
  • Top left of the main page is a 'new topic' button. at least that's how I did it :)
