What's your boyfriend contributing?

That's amazing well done. Inspiring. I hate running but want to start doing it - so that i will come to the point where i can honestly say that i dont run because I dont want to, rather than because I cant!

It does seem to be true that whatever your height, weight, age, whatever, there are people who will find you sexy. But feeling positive about yourself seems to be a pretty good way of raising the approval ratings.

Hi i am looking to make friends with other gay men who are happy to give support, cruising tips and world-weary wisdom, who will share smutty jokes (only in private of course and with the blinds down), and who will cheer me up when the inches are rising and not in a good way... body builders, bears, twinks, chubbies,…

Well done. know exactly what you mean And well done for not smacking your husband round the head with a frying pan. Double victory

Dont worry about finishing. What does that mean anyway? Just focus on a day at a time. Aim to have a day when you have done things to improve your health. Then the next day, do the same. And the next.

Mine does - I thought if i got him to do the cooking and the dishes it would be an incentive for him to go out and get a job. Fat chance, if you will pardon the expression.

The American Council on Exercise publish what looks like good reasonably scientifc research on their website about which exercises work well, plus stuff like whether exercising to music helps, and so on.

A lab. Every day of his life he has had a small bowl of dried biscuits twice a day to eat. Every time he almost wets himself with excitement. If only....

If you feel that you need to pee a lot then its worth having a blood sugar test for diabetes, just in case. I admit that the fact that you are drinking a lot of water is a more obvious explanation but still worth checking.

I loathe running - but want to get to a state where i can do it, even if i choose not to! My advice would be to start in a gym (a cheap one!) and do a few minutes on a treadmill, then gradually build up until you can do half an hour slowly, then gradually faster. That gives you a safe environment in which to progress. At…

Shaking for an entire day!! Take him to the vet. Now.

A bad day just delays you meeting your targets by a day. Over a period of several months what difference does that make? Dont starve yourself for 2 days - just carry on as if nothing had happened.
-
great what an achievement
-
oh and cut out booze as well of course

A banana and an apple are not much in a day - maybe you are just trying for too low a target and you should be easier on yourself. I have either a banana or grapes everyday and usually other stuff including alcohol and I check my blood sugar every day and its reasonably ok. But if you are really deternined to be low on…

There's nothing funny about this whatever some other people might think. if you have tried speaking to him and it doesnt work then speak to the manager. If that doesnt work find out who the manager's boss is and put a complaint in writing about the management of the gym. Point out that they have a legal duty of care…

doctor. now

forget about the targets for a while forget about what you used to weight just decide to have one good day - stick to your calories for that day then take it from there day by day

If you are going to eat sugar, then eating it in fruit is a good way of doing it because the fruit is good for you in lots of other ways, which is not true of for example a bar of chocolate. But the sugar itself is not any better I also eat fruit and dont intend to stop doing so unless i have to (which I will if i fail in…

It's just one day. It puts back the date when you get to your goal by a day. So? Its not a disaster. You had a nice time, you indulged, you didnt shoot anybody and you didnt do anything that will mess up today or tomorrow or the next day. Dont feel ashamed. Strike a balance between the studying and the gym. Key question -…

this is a big concern of mine for when i have got the weight down - find the idea of surgical removal more than a bit freaky. am told that rubbing yorself withcocoa butter helps......
-
in a previous attempt at losing weight i aimed to weigh myself every week but would cheat and weigh myself during the week - would then find i hadnt lost anything or had even gained, would get down-hearted and pig-out. Now i am being strict and only doing it every week and i feel so much better. I feel much more in control…

Friendly commonsense person here, serious about gradually getting the weight off but hopefully not obsessive. Happy to have new friends Richard

Wed 09/21/11 08:20 PMQUOTE: When i was diagnosed with diabetes I said no to chocoloates and sweets (candy) and apart from a couple of wafer thin mints in restaurants i have stuck to it. Gone are those entire boxes of chocolates eaten one after the other. But i keep grazing the fridge and the fruit bowl - and last night i…

Small goals, one day at a time. If you go to bed healthier than when you got up, you have achieved something really worthwhile.

I'm in the same position - was about to buy a polar but realised it was going to cost more than i hoped. But the cheaper brands get poor reviews for reliability. I really dont need something that is going to calculate my horoscope and the trajectory of the planet venus - but i do need something i can trust. Urgent advice…

Yes you can. If you log the exercise you do, the system will then tell you that you have extra calories you can eat. But you dont have to eat them. Or you can not log them in the first place. Entirely up to you.

Really interesting stuff - thanks and well done
