  • Nope... although I do still wear a ring the ex-husband's mother got me cause it is pretty. Other than that, not at all
  • In the summer here, temps are super high, so like the shower luke warm to cool.... but all the rest of the year, I like em' hot. It's relaxing
  • Hahaha! Those are my kiddos.... try again *crosses fingers for hooker or seller of the blow...they have all the fun*
  • I am bored and feeling the need for a career change... what career is beckoning me?
  • Have lost 53, have another 36 left to go... it's been so SLOW, but worth it :)
  • Please be aware too, that month 2 is more intense and longer workouts. You will be burning more calories during that time... month 1 is basically to condition you more FOR month 2. If you are not feeling worn enough, maybe skip to the month 2 schedule? I am not ready to... shoot, I am just happy I don't have to stop as…
  • I liked the fact that I had to take fewer breaks!!! That totally pumped me up. Then today I did the Cardio Plyometrics one...and same thing.. less breaks = more calories burned! I was so excited! I hit an all time high for calorie burn tonight!!! My endurance is building because I can go longer before my HRM alarm starts…
  • Shoes make a HUGE difference. I used to suffer from shin splints for YEARS. Got advice here to go to a running store, they analyzed how I ran and BOOM! Perfect shoes and not a shin splint to be had since! :O Mine were so bad I had protruding bruises all up and down both legs.. since I was 14 even in basketball! Now no…
  • Anytime! I love it, and I can listen to my own music through it all. If you want to, a lot of sites now have C25K podcasts too with a certain genre of music already selected
  • I recommend the C25K program (Couch 2 5K). It's an app for phone or IPod... wonderful tool for a beginner
  • It totally works! Mine have fed 3 kids many years ago and are presently a 36DD... so it's not cause they have totally lost their, ummm, heft? But they are more conditioned and it's been awesome :) Started at 42DDD by the way... just so you have a gage with weight loss. You can lose a ton and improve the girls…
  • I do strength training, so as I have lost and gone down a cup size (doesn't sound like much, but for me it is)... the girls have gotten perkier actually. They watch proudly where I am going instead of hanging head in shame to look at my shoes .. LOL! Sorry, didn't know how else to gently word that, LOL!
  • Not sure if this will help you but... when it doesn' t have a place to put in weight and height, the general rule is that the machine goes off of weight being 150lbs. However I will also say... my workouts being intense, without heart rate monitor, then getting one.... I found the machines to over-estimate by about 20%.
  • I also use a heart rate monitor. I got the Polar FT60 (cause I use it for a lot of other activities too and needed more features). Not sure how I would log it otherwise. Enjoy Insanity! My daughter and I just finished the first week and we are LOVING it!
  • I am doing Insanity and love it. I just got done week 1 and already my daughter and I are starting to see results. We both decided we weren't going to touch the scale after the initial weigh in though until the end of program. The first 3 days were the hardest. Things hurt and I walked like I rode a horse for 3 days…
  • Happy Birthday and sorry you felt so weak waiting until evening. Unfortunately I have no choice on weekdays but to wait until evening to workout... but I sure do sleep sound. Weekdays are tough for me and I usually run off just 4hrs of sleep night... by Friday I am exhausted, so trying to get my rest day to be scheduled on…
  • I normally weight weekly, but with Insanity starting I am putting my scale away. I got my starting weight, but not recording again until after the program. My daughter and I are already seeing small things changing and being effected, that to us, means success is coming. Instead we are using measurements and pictures taken…
  • My daughter and I are both wearing cross-trainers. They work out well for helping to cushion and support on landings for all the jumps and power moves. It's imperative for us with rheumatoid arthritis to have the right footwear for anything we exude a lot of potential impact to our joints. Hope that helps! In the meantime,…

  • This! Look around on the net and find something that interests you. I love kickboxing type of stuff and someone that pushes, so started with Tae Bo and Bootcamps (the extreme abs was awesome). I got them 2nd hand at a local place real cheap. Now I am doing Beach Body's Insanity and love that too, but glad I didn't start…
  • This is exactly it. Do what you can as you can and don't try to keep up with his "machines". As you saw, they were dropping like flies too! LOL! Put in all you can, do 100%, but do it at YOUR pace so you don't risk form and heart rate going unhealthy high :) You are totally rocking this!
  • I calculated both ways and they about match. My advice, until you get your heart rate monitor, is to use the nutritional guide configurations for your calories. I figured mine as lightly active and it pretty much matches what mine is according to MFP after putting in my calories burned from Insanity. :) Hope that helps!
  • I totally understand! I have severe polyarticular rheumatoid arthritis - it effects my knees, wrists, one elbow, and left hip. I am making it through with limited pain though and knees have held up well. Here are my suggestions that have worked for me so far. The thing that makes biggest impact on knees is landing and not…
  • Great job!!! Your belly and back are the biggest difference, things are starting to tighten on you. If the scale is where your discouragement started from, then throw it out for the 60 days until the end of the program... go off your pics and measurements. :) You are doing great!!!
  • Had a friend that ordered from EBay and the 2nd month's discs would skip and freeze. Buyer beware when doing it that way. I got mine through Beach Body... although I had to save up for them, it was worth it to me. However, if you are the type that doesn't get all pissy when thrown off routine (I am a total type "A"…
  • This. Here is the reason. When you workout your body releases a hormone that is a natural pain killer. Especially when it comes to muscles (which is why the monthly cramping), it helps to ease the pain. You may get more "flow" the harder you push, so be prepped for that... but as for the pain... it will ease it and make it…
  • I have a friend that decided to start with P90X and I started with Insanity. We are both sore and both are working to our potential. For a bit over a year we have both been doing workouts from lifting, to running, etc. Then when we started DVD workouts, I went to Tae Bo and Bootcamps, she went to Power90...actually think I…
  • andie, Nice to "meet" you :) I am north of Tucson - between Tucson and Phoenix actually. Congrats on the animal rescue interest... can never have enough caring people looking after the animals :)
  • I enjoyed this last night. My legs were shaking something aweful when holding positions though. One more day...down! We got this!
