In the Middle East that's very common.

Have you worked with a therapist with regard to your depression? There's a lot that can be done in addition to medication. They can help you change the negative thought patterns that keep holding you back.

Keep the yolks - they are great nutrition. For example, egg yolks contain a nutrient that reduces the risk of developing macular degeneration. My healthy breakfast is oatmeal with Brummel and Brown and cinnamon along with two scrambled eggs. It keeps me full for several hours.

I second this. I was logging my running the other day (rule of thumb is 100 calories per mile) and what MFP gave me was almost twice as much as it should have been.

I'm not sure you can measure it without a machine or calipers.

You can get through the cold turkey of quitting caffeine - you may feel terrible for a few days and then it levels out. Or, just start drinking unsweetened tea. I drink seltzer water to give that soft drink fizz without calories or artificial sweeteners.

I drink seltzer water - it comes in plain or flavored. I get the "bubbly effect" without sugar or artificial sweeteners.

Running burns about 100 calories per mile.

Peanut butter on whole wheat toast.

The problem with Special K cereal is that it's pretty low in fiber.

I have a scale that measures not only body fat but also muscle. Maybe it's just doing the math.... I will admit that perhaps that one reading was a glitch, but I do know I've added a lot of muscle from the way I feel and the way my clothes fit. I have a body type that builds muscle insanely easily. In fact, a guy at the…

I'm not following the program exactly, but have really ramped up my strength training (mostly circuit training.) I was a little discouraged this morning when once again, I hadn't lost any weight, But then I noticed by body fat % had gone 7-8 points and I've added ten pounds of muscle. I'll take that! (I'm trying to eat a…

Out of curiosity, have you run a half marathon before?
-
Less than 800 is really, really not healthy. The point is to eat a healthy diet, not stop eating.

Hanesbrands stores have champion wear at reduced prices. I don't know if you can order from them on the internet. However you find it, you do need to get real workout wear - it does make a difference.

I use cliff bar shotblocks. They give me a better energy boost than sport beans.

How much exercising are you doing? With my training, it's necessary to eat protein and carbs 3-5 times a day to fuel my body.

I'm 40 pounds overweight and I've done 4 sprint tris. (Would have been more but I had a shoulder injury this summer.) My first one was 13 months after I was hit by a car while biking and sustained a fractured pelvis. I LOVE it! There's nothing like the feeling of accomplishment when you finish. Check and see if there are…

Do you have a bike? I have a stand that I can put my bike on that turns it into a stationary bike. If I can't do anything else, I can set that up in front of the TV and pedal away while I catch up on my DVR list.

I saw commercials for a new show following young, obese women in New York (one of whom was a plus size model.) The promo was very much in your face, "We're big and beautiful and you're going to have to deal with it." It made me very sad. I don't want them to feel shame for their weight, but it's just plain denial to say,…

I have a belt that holds my water bottle in place on the small of my back. It also has a pouch for keys, gels, etc. Here in the south, it's essential on those humid days!

I know it's harder to exercise with physical limitations. I spent five months unable to walk, and I had to get very creative! A couple of things: You need to take rest days. Your body (esp. Your muscles) need the time to recover. Going every day become counter productive. As hard as it is, you also need to eat. Don't just…

On the other side, I've found that MFP overestimates the calorie burn of my runs (based on my Garmin calorie readings.)

One of the things that's helping me is that id I'm eating out, I check out nutrition info before I go so I know what to order.

It's hard having a setback, but give yourself time to heal properly. If you don't, you will keep having problems.

There is no magic bullet. Colon cleanses do more harm than good. If you want to boost your metabolism, you have to exercise. If you want to lose weight, you have to burn more calories than you consume. There is no pill or magic drink that will do it safely for you.

8 miles in a steady rain. Not my greatest time, but at least I was out there.

Clear eyes, full hearts.. Can't lose!

Cold rain is my least favorite... I would encourage you to give it a try once in a while. If nothing else, you really get a sense of what you need to wear in case the weather's nasty on race day.
